Baloney. He had his chance, and couldn't get the job done so he washed his hands of it. What you and he are saying is that those two can only ever play for again for him. I don't think they (John and Danny) would agree to that at all.
Mark set up a pool match between them. Thought it would be good pool. As soon as the match was set, Justin jumped in and he and others started playing the animosity angle, not the pool angle. That's not what the company Mark works for is about, so they naturally don't want their player involved in something like that. They are about promoting pool, not animosity and train wrecks between two players. If that's what you really want to watch, and what Justin really wants to promote just because it sells, (which I don't think he does) then let him put on a Shawn Putnam/Earl Strickland match. Or a Hatch/ Strickland match. There will be plenty of animosity.
And for Justin, who represents a company, to now start making innuendos about charity scams, and that is what Kimberly might be about, is just plain a low blow and sour apples. I had tons of respect for Justin before this thread, now I am finding myself re-thinking that.
this is way off base. Justin didn't make any innuendos about a charity scam. He simply said that doing stuff for charity can be very lucrative. That can be the case without being a scam. I've seen a ton of "charity" poker tourneys and golf tourneys that are advertised as charity and give away 10% to charity (which is noted in the promotion so it doesn't deceive anyone) and they make a ton on the other 90%.
Is it a bit deceptive, probably, but only to those that don't fully read the event structure or the fine print, which is the case with a lot of people.
I get called unethical all the time because I provide people that can't get a loan anywhere else collateralized loans on their goods. They ask me how I can sleep at night and I usually tell them that I have a really expensive machine that simulates the sound of the ocean.
