The document of our pool related road trip across the U.S. updated daily

it's getting too cold here already........

Well maybe after you get everything lined out you can head to the North Pole and give Santa a Perfect Aim lesson?!?! He called me wanting your number. Said he probably get ya down with the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy if ya give him a little jelly.

i can't imagine the North Pole:eek:

If you get me a lesson lined up with either i'll give you 10%.

OK 20%

These pills I'm taking are really knocking my socks off. Not only would I have trouble driving but i don't even feel like riding.

I don't want to drive way over here or there and waste our money and time if i can't play and teach because I feel to goofy.

My mind is kind of tired right now.

I even forgot that i gave a guy a lesson yesterday and tried to talk him into another.

I remembered once he brought it up but I was really surprised I didn't have a clue.

Tonight after I shoot some i will make a decision on where we will go. Rhea gets going and wants to make a decision right now with very little thought sometimes.

I have allot of things going on right now mentally with this seizure thing going on and the meds are making me real tired.

Who knows there Pete. maybe we can get over to your neck of the woods before we head back to the mid west.

I need to stay in the area to play in this 20,000 tourny in Middlelothian a month from now and i need to stay close to my neurologist/

Sounds like very good reasoning , no one knows you better than yourself .
I would lay low also until you feel up to it. As you know... If your minds not right then your pool game and decision making won't be right either
Good luck and I enjoy hearing about the journey

Hey Gene, have you ever tried to give someone a lesson that was too drunk to comprehend what you were teaching? I was just sitting here thinking and figured I'd ask.

You need to take care of yourself out there and keep Rhea by your side if you can. I wouldn't go out of the hotel alone.

seizure medication slows down your brain as well as your nerves. you need to see the same dr. as long as possible and give him accurate info as to how the meds are affecting you. that way he can adjust your dosage to where it does not deter you from day to day activities while controlling seizures.

disclaimer: i am no expert but i did live with someone for 20 years who has epilepsy.

Gene, did do any tests before giving you meds? My neurological doc is 3 months out on appointments and will not prescribe anything until a battery of tests and consult with my doc.
Serious stuff man. I hope you're getting proper care.

Did you let him know how the meds are messing you up?

Serious note there. My niece has epilepsy at the young age of 7. They have been to Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and all of the best doctors in our area. My sister (and Docs) has constantly said the meds are no good. She is currently on a ketogenic diet in order to try and control the seizures so that she doesn't have to take heavy doses of medication. The diet is brutal but it might be an option Gene should look at before popping pills.

It is this type of comment that truly makes me look forward to when this little "fling" of yours hits rock bottom... don't forget to send a pic of the dumpster before you climb in for the night...

Agreed... So mouthy with not much backing it up

i stated in post 614 that i got my wife of pills after a few years. seemed she did better without them. of course medicine had come a long way since early 80's.

what works for one may not work for another though.

A keyogenic diet will work wonders for gene with his diabetes.

Nocturnal epilepsy. Gene has this just started or has it been going on for a long time just now discovered?

There is a chance that the seizures are better for you then the meds. Anti Convulsants can be nasty.

Good news, Gene feels he is playing well enough for us to head toward Albermarle NC for the tournament this coming Saturday at Lucky Shot Billiards. So after his lesson tomorrow at someones house I will be driving us to North Carolina.

On a side note he does seem much more relaxed and less irritable than before the meds :)

Not sure if this fits but in the show Sanjay Gupta did on marijuana they profiled a family whose little girl was having a hundred seizures a day and once she got on a certain breed of mary jane the seizures stopped completely.

This was a specific breed designed ESPECIALLY for this type of use and not stuff that gets people high.

That was a pretty good show, I caught it when nothing else was on. They had a bunch of it available because it had such a low thc content and nobody wanted that. Quite a transformation that made.

They where extracting a chemical in the plant that had no thc in it and giving it to her in a liquid form. Not likely any one else could get it.

Yes I know that. It was a very low THC content breed. The point is that marijuana has found to be helpful to those with seizures.

It doesn't have to be exactly what was used for the little girl to be helpful to Gene. It's possible that something readily available could help. Maybe he and Rhea should head towards a medical marijuana state. Colorado where the seizure-helping MJ is grown could be a destination.

That will be a good one. If you have not played in the GSBT Gene would be an 11 and you would be a 7 (equal to a B+) at Qmasters..... I will let Shannon know (just to be helpful)... best of luck............

I wonder if Gene knows he'll be n 11. No easy pickings there. Johnnyt

The MJ was most likely high in CBD, or cannabidiol. CBD's help with a lot of different symptoms.... In the MJ world different types are known as strains, not breeds.
