You're one of the good guys Mark, I can't put myself in your shoes through this last year of insanity. I wonder who or what is going to fill this massive void in pro pool next year...

. I can only say that there is something going on.
Also, I am one of those people who paid for the full season of streaming, and has not received a refund.......I don't think the collapse was intentional<--I don't either, NO one could have 'planned' failure that well..Unless it was a 'tax dodge' ! (entirely possible)and that somehow everything will work out for the best for everyone within time.
I still think Bonus Ball is a great game. The 3-man team format is great. The production quality is great. And the performances by the players were GREAT! Plus, I was given a warm welcome by Larry and his staff (including Lee) in Vegas, and was given a demonstration of how Bonus Ball is played, before anyone even realized who I was, or why I was there. It was all fun and exciting! I was sold on it. I guess I still am.
I don't know for sure if Bonus Ball will ever work out; but I'm still hoping.

I have edited your post, to address the key points you are trying to make..Let me say first, that you have been very active, in our local billiard community forever..I consider you a friend, and you have written several flattering articles on my behalf !
That being said, I have to wonder what 'magic spell "Bonus Ball" has cast over the level headed guy I thought I knew !..As you know, I have been very vocal in my disgust for BB, from the very start... Not necessarily the 'game' itself, but the way it was being presented !.. I am NO 'rocket scientist', But after reading Jerry's update, I am even MORE disgusted !
BB, and its inventor (and clandestine 'investors') have presented the pool community, and several well respected long time promoter's, with the worst, most disruptive, business plan/model imaginable. It's founder (LC) thinks he has invented "the game to end all pool games", and he may be right..It may END, or severely damage pool, which was already on VERY thin ice to begin with !..His unbelievable arrogance, was hard to take !
No use belaboring all the things BB has done wrong...Let's just say EVERYTHING !..I can't believe you, (and a 'few' of my other friends) thought it had a prayer of EVER succeeding !.. The complexity of the game itself, make understanding it virtually impossible, for ANY group of people (including pool nuts) to bother trying to learn..!..The ONLY thing BB had going for it, was the team concept..And, they even butchered that, by not making it available in the various cities the player's represent !
They wasted a ton of money, building an arena, in a city where it had absolutely ZERO chance of succeeding !..Bald Knob, Arkansas, would have been a much better choice..I can't believe the player's themselves fell for this cluster***k, and turned their back on our premier promoter's, who have been supportive of the game for the last 15-20 yrs. !..Kevin Trudeau, was a genius, (with the IPT) compared to the BB fiasco !

AZB (the home page, not the forum) is a journalism site for pool. It is about covering what's happening in pool. Giving it an aspect of pay for play (for example, no pay = no coverage) will corrupt that. It seems like a bad idea to me.

We will never require ads from promoters to cover their events. Nor would we ever consider any other form of payment required for coverage.
We do sometimes wonder if some forum members are aware we have a front page. Folks are constantly coming on the forums and posting stories from other web sites that are already on our front page. Weird.

The Main Page (front page) is the first thing I read in the morning -- before this forum. I also pick up AzBilliards news on Facebook.
Please. Don't let this go off the top page just yet..
Speaking of missing the front page stories: I think the Tapatalk program, which must have the strongest advertising program on the web, encourages the use forums without ever visiting the website. I only dabbled with the program/app so I'm not sure. Thoughts?

John is only one of many investors that have become involved with Larry Chiborak. He was the investor that purchased Barry Bremner's shares back when he said enough was enough and told players that there was no million dollar rainbow. He stated that there was aproximately 5 other investors that had been sold shares behind his back. That alone was enough cause for him to end his association with the WPBL and Larry Chiborak. He is currently residing in Las Vegas trying to get the stench of Bonus Ball off his clothes. Selling shares behind Bremner's back, according to Fat Boy, could have found Chiborak in deep do-do with American authorities. Bremner was fortunate to end his relationship with Chiborak. His last official job as vice-president was to scream at John to get Mark Griffin paid up for table rentals that were massively over due. I heard him personally. I also heard and saw text messages from John Gigolotti that would put him in the same boat as Chiborak.
I don't know what has happened with this company or what investors are thinking because Bremner has not shared with me anymore info since he sold out his shares. I do know that he was honest and forth right with players and fans on AZ. Like Lee Brett, he spoke up and took a bullet for the players. TOO BAD THEY DIDN'T LISTEN! He did tell me anyone who wants to add him as a friend on facebook, he would like that.

Thank you for your concern for my "credibility," but I'm more concerned with my conscience, integrity and self-respect. Since I was involved in helping to promote Bonus Ball for the sake of my player friends, and since those same player friends still seem to be somewhat satisfied in their own affiliations with Bonus Ball (at least, at this point), I think it would be very two-faced of me to now condemn Bonus Ball in (supposedly) their defense; or in the defense of any other (supposedly) damaged parties. of which no one here has any proof as to the type and extent of the damage(s) done.
You can claim that Bonus Ball is to blame for ruining pool, but is that really a fact? I know Mark Griffin is canceling some of his big events because he is upset with certain players - and I really don't blame him for being upset - but if he really wanted to continue running those events, he could just turn them into invitational tournaments, and then not invite those players who have upset him. That would help keep professional pool alive, only it would be with a few new professionals. But that may not even be possible, as I suspect that our poor economy is the main culprit behind pool's declination.
And, Dick, for you to list the "complexity" of Bonus Ball as one of your reasons for disgust, and thereby suggest that it is further proof that BB's inventor should be convicted on all counts, is just absurd. By that logic, Willie Mosconi would have been a hero if he had shot the inventor of One-Pocket.
I'm not defending anyone at Bonus Ball, Dick, but I'm not going to become a member of a lynch mob, either. The fact is, this whole thing will be resolved by the powers that be, and our opinions here at AZB will have had no effect on that at all.
I hope we're still buddies. :thumbup:
