Mosconi Updates Please

No. That didn't dawn on me, I guess. I see him do between rounds too.

There's no question about Dennis focus today, he is locked in. I've seen several players look around the room. Most likely to check the clock.

I guess everybody handles the pressure differently. I've seen Dennis play many times. He seems like he's looking around at the crowd more today. Could be nerves.

Rack 7, Ralph is coming back at Hatch strong, 4-3, I missed most of the rack though, don't know how Dennis let him back to the table.

Dennis to break in Rack 8 to try to get to the hill.

Actually I learned from a sports shrink that's a good thing as long as u don't stop to think about what your seeing this helps ur brain to stay on the motor side

Ralph jumped and reversed the hook and ran out

That is interesting! :)

I know I couldn't make a duck shot if it was me in the pit at the Mosconi Cup. :o

Man, nobody is running away with this match. Both players are stumbling. :frown:

Rack 8

Dry break for Dennis, Ralph has a straight in shot on the 1 along the short rail, he manages to spin out of the shot a bit up table to get shape on the 2 in the side but does not look like it's enough to make the 2 which is partially blocked by the 9 for the side, he needed another inch or more to the middle for the shot. Plays a safe and leaves Dennis to see the 2 but across the table without a good shot. Dennis banks the 2 away from the rail, hooks Ralph behind the 9. Ralph kicks the 2 up table middle of top rail, cueball on the rail a diamond down from the side pocket. Dennis has to play safe, does, leaves a look on the 2 but on opposite sides of the table.

Ralph plays a carom on the 6 which is hanging in the corner, makes it, cueball near the point of the corner pocket, 2 is near the side, Ralph makes a smooth hit on it to pocket it off the rial, rest of rack looks without issues.

Could be 4-4 here. Ralph on the 7 in the corner with a small angle, the 8 is almost locked to the 9 but goes in the side, Ralph makes it in the side, goes 2 rails around for the 9 in the same side.

Tied 4-4 with Ralph to break next.

4-2 Dennis......after Dennis missed a ball in the corner pocket Ralf ran 4 balls and won that game.

4-4.........Anyone's match now and if Dennis loses and USA goes down 0-7 it may be insurmountable to come back from that far down the way the Europeans are playing.

Rodney looked to have been running away with this set, but he needed to train more like Earl as he ran out of breath just short of the hill before Ralph caught up.

If Dennis loses this set, after being up 4-2 and with the first US point in his grasp, this may be as bad or almost as bad for his psyche as his hill hill loss to Buddy Hall in the finals of the US open when he broke dry and Buddy ran out for the win.

I think I saw Lou F. sitting next to Nick Varner. He'll have a good report for today.

Dennis throws out the F bomb.

Almost did a hatchet job on his cue... How do you freeze yourself up on that ball with a simple open table????
