Up for sale is this specially handmade cue by George Balabushka with two shafts and a Fanelli case. My brother was a professional pool player who once won the Staten Island eight ball championships and was friends with Pete Margo and Steve Mizerak. He also took the shot in a Brute commercial with Joe Namath. This cue wasa verified authentic by Pete Tascarella. Asking price is 70K. It is a very rare cue in excellent condition.

I'm not sure the seller knows he can (or how to) bump his offering.

If nothing else, this cue deserves a 2nd look.

Thank you for attaching the photos. I tried for an hour and couldn't figure out how to do it.

Merry Christmas/Happy holidays all.

Wasn't this for sale on cl for. $35000? Who is it now 70kp

I hate I missed my shot. lol.
Yes, enlightenment is expensive. In this case, it is such a departure from it's contemporaries, that the evaluation by an authority made it close to priceless. I only wish I could play with the big boys.
The fact that I couldn't afford it at $35k, takes some of the sting out of the fact that I missed what may have been a fantastic bargain.
I felt the price might rise, as I followed the story, so that's the only reason I wasn't as surprised by it, as you were.

Such a great cue

Your brother acquired a great cue. I am sure if this cue could talk we would be entertained and fascinated with how the good old days of pool in the Northeast was.

Good luck with your sale and sorry for the loss of your brother.

Regards,

Sanjay

I'm curious where the balance point is on this cue. If you don't know what that is, joint the cue and find the point where you can balance it on your finger and then measure from the butt to that point.

Thanks.

70k ? wow. Makes me wonder what my friend's mint condition , unrestored 1968 buska is worth.

Hi Alstl, it is approximately at the 38 1/2 " mark from tip to butt. Visually about an inch and a half above the gold ring on the butt.

The business card listing George's phone number and address are authentic. I know I checked the scratch paper he wrote same on for me one night at the Golden Cue. He said he would be happy to make a cue for me, but sadly, i never took his offer up
but ironically I still have the hand written note.
