Did your pool cause a problem with your partner

Wondering if your pool playing caused problems with your partner. Were you playing pool when you met your partner or did you discover pool after? Have any good fights or arguments. You know the "You are going down to that smelly place again with all those degenerates! I don't know what you see in that place." In the end who won? Pool and you? Or the wishes of your partner.

It did once.

I miss her sometimes...

Just kidding...when we first married she was uncomfortable with the hours I spent late at night playing. I have always told her pool was my only mistress.:p

AND I have kept my word. Now, after 16 years I am generally free to go and play as I please. Of course, having 2 kids ( Son 13 and daughter 9) my time is limited.

So one day I met this beautiful woman and we started talking! Well, you know how that goes, so we dated for a few weeks and everything is nice! So we decided to take a weekend getaway together out to cape cod! Well, I couldn't play for that whole weekend!!! As soon as we got back,,, she had to "go"! I told her sorry, it ain't gonna work!

Yes, I won;)

And there it is... i think those are the exact words!

Is this a joke? I don't go to, " that smelly place again with all those degenerates!" That's what a strip club? Maybe on your dime; maybe?

"It's so smokey!!!"
I have a good girl. She does her thing, I do mine. We team up on life and stomp it in the ground when either one of us has a problem. No she doesn't have a penis, I've checked several times.

Lol... It still does

Wifes

My first wife told me if I didn't quit she would leave me.
I sold my cues and used the money to put a down payment on a house.
4 months later she had the house and all my clothes were in my car.

Lost my 2nd wife because I spent too much time playing pool. Best thing that could have happened to me. Just celebrated my 10 year anniversary with my 3rd wife. I still play a little pool, I can't run out for shit...........and I like it!

At first it wasn't a problem, going to the pool hall almost every day and not getting home til the early morning hours. Finally I told her that she had to choose, either the pool hall or me!!

Guess I am one of the lucky ones. My wife plays pool just as much as I do. Given the choice to play in a 5 and under tourney or play the big boys straight up. She rather play against the big boys with no spot. Doesn't bother me, as long as she is having fun.

My partner CAUSED my pool problem. I first started hanging out at the pool hall to get away from my significant other. All is well now, and she's very cool about my pool habit.

I was living in Southern California when I met my wife in 1983. I think we went to Newport Beach on our 2nd date (kind of a ritzy beach area south of were we lived). On the way back I knew of a chinese restaurant that had a killer shrimp dish but not in the best of neighborhoods (8th & Normandy in LA). She was up for it. After dinner and since we were kind of close, I asked if she wanted to stop by a pool room to see a friend, Arnie Satin, who owned Hollywood Billiards at Hollywood & Western (another not great neighborhood to say the least). She was up for that, too! So we walk past some not so desirable folks hanging in the street and go down the stairs to the pool room, and the only thing we could see is Arnie's belly behind the counter. It was really quite the date.

I still love my wife of 28 years...and she is still quite the date.

The only rule while living in areas that allowed smoking, is I take my clothes off as I walked in the house and put them in the washer. Now that there is no smoking, that is not a problem.

This could be a website for any pastime, and the question is worded as:

Has _____________ ever caused a problem between you and your significant other?

90% of the respondents would say Yes.

Before I met my wife I had gone from playing pool pretty much every day, to not playing, to playing one night a week in leagues. I met my wife at the bar I played at, she worked part-time on the busy nights.

With that being said I just installed our table in the basement this week, I've decided I want to get "back" into pool and dedicate myself to playing a lot more. I'll reply back in a few months.

Cheers.

It actually made my marriage better. Now that I bought my very own pool table, I spend more time at home with the wife and kids ! :grin-square:
