DVD Review- CJ Wiley's Million Dollars Challenge

The bold is a BS statement, if I ever heard one. CJ paid Earl $50K immediately (which was all he was entitled to, for the first year of the annuity), to keep Earl quiet, and from interfering in the pursuit of the lawsuit. CJ knew well what Earl was capable of doing, in terms of creating a ruckus (and, in this case, it would have been justified), which is why he paid him off to keep quiet. :rolleyes:

Scott, no disrespect to you in regards to your comment... however, the bold statement is a a true statement. CJ's payment of $50k to Earl was a payment of good faith until a settlement could be reached. Furthermore, there has always been respect between Earl and CJ....not only as friends but as professionals! :smile:

It's delusional to think Earl could be paid to keep quiet - He got paid in full

I paid Earl the first payment of $50,000 because that first installment was what he was owed by the insurance company - it's made very, very clear in the Documentary 'Billiard's Perfect Miss'...I actually paid him the money on TV and told everyone what the money was for.....and it was all 100% correct and factual.

I actually paid much more than 50k (300k was the total bill) to defend Earl in the lawsuit, he was not required to put up ANY money in his defense. This is all well documented and part of the documentary.

You are 100% correct. It's amazing what people can dream up

You are 100% correct. It's amazing what people can dream up when they don't have access to the facts. One of the main reasons I wanted to get the documentary made is to tell what really happened - false rumors have been spread through the years.

So, he paid Earl the first $50,000, and continued to fight the lawsuit until completion, and you find a reason to insult him for that? Interesting...

Me Too

What did you expect???

I'm waiting to see the reviews aswell. I don't want to waste $30 that could be put toward buying a good stream!

I would also like to see some reviews, Perhaps the sale of the DVD did not get enough exposure on AZ Billiards and folks aren't aware of it yet!

I agree. He should make sure he posts it in every thread on here. I've noticed that there are one or two that he has missed. Apparently, everyone is only reading those one or two threads.:eek:

This MUST be the case. I wasn't even aware it was for sale until I saw the thread about Mary Avina with a christmas tree... LOL!!!!

I'm not gonna hate. CJ is trying to make some money in the pool world. At least he's paid some dues, to be able to do so. My only concern is putting my extra pool money to supporting the people and things that are BEST FOR POOL.

Either way, I want to see an actual review.

Why do you and several other people on here try to bust CJ's chops all the time? If the people who own AZB and its monitors are OK with his posts (to include promotional footers, ads, etc.), they why do you keep knocking him?

There are way too many armchair quarterbacks on here.

well i guess I was the one with the partial review. Like i said I found some things cheesy like some of the TV interviews and bonus footage. but I dont want to be negative for the sake of being negative. I have seen tons of post busting CJs balls for the constant advertising and I got it. but Im not gonna pile on. that being said. 30 $ wasnt too much to pay to see the last 5 racks and learn alittle that i did nt know about the prep that Earl did and the legal battle. in my opinion, if 30$ is gonna set anyone back that much then maybe pool isnt the hobby for you.

Review wise: some of the audio was sometimes too low to hear. it wasnt at a consistant level. and as I mentioned earlier the footage of the Racks that Earl ran werent of the greatest quality (this was explained by CJ and during the video. Other than that i didnt feel ripped off or anything I hope this helps a little.

Why are you busting our chops? There's your answer.;)

I am not really bothered any more by people trying to sell in the main forum.
It would be nice though if the rules were applied across the board, the same for everyone, not selectively. That might be one of the reasons it bothers people.

As far as the part about the owners and moderators are ok with it so why aren't we.
I'm sure there are plenty of things they are alright with that I or others are not.
Just as I'm sure there are things that we agree upon.

Here's an example:

In the past I started a thread about a pool book from the 1800's wanting to find out it's value and after three people posted in the thread it was locked by W.

He said it was in the wrong forum it should have been in the for sale forum, as I explained to him then I was not trying to sell it only wanted to find out the value.

As I thought then and still do that the for sale forum is for buying and selling, neither of which I was doing at the time. That was a few years ago and I still have the book so i guess I was not trying to sell it. LOL

Another example:

The other day one of the owners of the forum suggested that a certain poster should
use the same type face as everyone else.

First off, why shouldn't that poster use whatever type face he chooses to use.

Secondly, if one of the owners find it so bothering that someone dare to be so wild as to
use a different type face, why not just remove that function, don't offer it anymore.

But as long as it's on offer, why complain when someone decides to use it?

If you can't see why the constant self promotion gets annoying then you can never understand why he's busting CJ's chops. I don't see JCIN posting every 5 minutes about some TAR product in every post. I enjoy CJ's posts when they bring something to the table, but they are fairly far and few between. Like I said, i'm not gonna hate, but it has made me think twice about buying his product. Unless I see a stellar review I will support pool by buying another product, more than likely the next TAR match.

~~~~~~
on a seperate note, to the guy that said something to the effect of, "if you only have $30 to spend on pool..." REALLY>???? Because supporting something with the little they have to offer somehow negates their love for the game??? I don't get it.
I have a second child on the way, and I am saving as much, and as often as I can. When life picks back up and I'll (hopefully, you never know with a wife and kids...) have thousands to blow on my passion, should I still consider a different hobby then??? I've spent THOUSANDS supporting pool, whether it's buying cues, cases, accessories, or buying DVD's, books, streamed events, or entering in tournaments. At this point in time, my wife and I are saving so I don't have as much as I would like, but god knows I've spent a stupid amount of money on this hobby already, and I will probably spend more.
It was a rude, and inconsiderate statement. There are a lot of people that would love to have a simple extra $30 in general, let alone and extra $30 to blow on pool junk. You should think before you post. It takes ALL types in this world, and not everyone has an extra $30 lying around.
END OF RANT.
<<<I come from nearly nothing, and statements about people who have a lack of extra dough send me into orbit, sorry for the rant.
Thanks for the only review on this thread. I appreciate it and look forward to other reviews by AZ folks.
Thanks again (Grennies for you on the way)!
