Pool On TV Today

Awful commentating- guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Allison blatantly went for a carom and missed it, selling out a shot; commentator called it a "safety" and insisted she didn't intend to make the carom.

Also, Allison was safed and failed to hit the lowest ball, but kept the cue ball on the table. The announcer said that it was a scratch lol. The other announcer who I thought they said was Allen Hopkins, said that since she missed that it was a "foul". Lol he knew he had to correct the other announcer.

Fantastic camera work!

I think the commentary has been very good. Occassional slip-ups from Allen's sidekick (he's clearly is a color commentator, not a pro player).

Of course, I'd really like to hear Allen yell "Live!"

Women on ESPN....

No dis-respect to the women's tour and that they have accomplished more than the men's side by even being considered to be on ESPN, but I have to say that I'm not very impressed with their games. I never saw more than a 7 ball runout from any of the 4 players. I know they are accomplished professionals but I just wasn't impressed. I know I will get some difference of opinion and negative comments about the nerves and being on ESPN and I understand all that. Not to mention they were playing on a Diamond Bar Box. I know that we all know players in our own areas that put together 4-5-6 and even more racks together, especially on a Diamond Bar Box. Ive seen Brittany Bryant put together 4-5 racks together on the Bar Box and was fairly impressed. I could see that it would be much easier for them to get action than most the pro level men. I know I'd give any of them a little action on the DBB. If the gender plays no determination in the ability of a pool player, and I certainly DONT think it does, then why are the men so much better? Again, no dis-respect at all just thought I would throw it out there. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

You sure that's a bar box? I don't think it is and I think there were some run outs. A lot of good safeties were played between these four as well.

I think the total viewership is from this site watched about 2 min of it than back to football
Tough spot for pool to be in ,, I guess no body else wanted the slot so pool went in as the sacrificial lamb

Let's give it up for Rjmoncrief and One stroke you are the epitomy of the negative side of the forum and pool. Those women could beat you like a drum and all yall do is try to be a critic. Why do you have to be so damn critical can't you at least compliment the way they dress vs the construction worker attire that most of the men wear to tournaments. Try to figure out why they are on TV and the men can't get a spot. Spend your time and thought on something constructive not destructive. it seems as thou guys like you sit around like lions just waiting to pounce and be negative. If you are the example of the average fan pool is indeed dead.

I was surprised at some of the misses, to be sure. But I enjoyed the show. It was good to see pool on TV.
