With all due respect CJ Wiley

I actually like the signatures. Lets you know a little more about the people you're talking to. I also don't find it overly promoting. Infact that is my entire point against CJ's advert threads. The guy posts a TON, and if that was all he did, I would still know what products he's offering. He wouldn't be clogging up the forum with 5 different threads, hocking the same DVD.

Eitherway, I do love the new tag lines coming out from everyone!!!!

The tag-line is the teacher...

sigs don't bother me - i ignore them. but....if i inserted 500 links to all of my mfgs @ wholesale $ @ my sig line & posted per minute - it m-i-g-h-t be a l-i-t-t-l-e irritating?

irrelevent posts (from whomever) don't bother me - skip.

and this is my POINT. if it BOTHERS those, then DON'T.

The only really serious issue I have on AZB is Spimp posting a picture of me as a doll in bed today. Gosh, my feelings are so hurt I'm gonna have to double up on Dr Phil this week. :p ;)

From reading the replies I would say it's about 50/50 give or take on either side of the issue. So I don't know what's right. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. I have a feeling in this case. Even if he posted what he sells in the wanted for sale section. He would still get bashed. Just like other are now for bumping etc. I don't think there are so many new or ongoing threads the CJ is clogging up the forum. That's just me. Maybe just maybe and there are those who have issues with one another. Just for 24 hours refrain from turning any thread into a negative thread. So CJ is promoting a product and posts it in the main forum. If you don't like it then don't post for 24 hours. Just sit back and see how much positivity can be in a post. Try it. Come on I dare everyone. 24 hours.

Like this thread for example? Actually we have three new DVDs out in the last 3 days, and we're working on 5 NEW ONES.

1) 'How to Create a Signature Line that Irritates Dislikers'

2) 'How to play 'Two Shot Shoot Out' (2 Foul 9 Ball) in three weeks or less'

3) 'Pool Stroke of the Samurai - HAMMER STYLE'

4) 'Why Two Shot Shoot Out is More Difficult Than One Pocket' (with 69 examples)

5) 'Breaking Good' - How to Improve a "Methed Up" Break

Not bad... except there is no element in the Mendeleev Periodic Table that's merely "[G]" with an atomic number of 64.

You might want to try [Be]ryllium, which has an atomic number of 4.

Then you can say "[Br]eaking [Be]tter." Or, in your case, orrowing [Be]tter. :p

Move along? Gee you're commanding. Did you forget that this isn't the military and you can't order people to do what you want?

Sorry that your brand of "polite" pro-bashing isn't allowed to go unchallenged but this is civilian life commander.

"Shoo" has nothing to do with the military. It's just what you say to someone who is being a pest. Bug spray might work too.

Or what about "Breaking Well". "W" is for Wolfram.

Yes, it is wise...But even if he wanted to play one, you have them all tied up, giving you lesson's and playing you for $10 a game ! :sorry:

I have never heard Lou 'pro-bashing', but he does give an occasional APA3 the raspberrie's.....:D

Bye John, I have a headache already ! :boring2: :boring2: :boring2:

Dick, the pro bashing thing is just par for John. If I've said some pros are broke losers then I'm bashing all pros. If I say a pro should have his own forum or a I believe a certain technique is bogus, I'm bashing pros. If I say someone left important stuff out their DVD, perhaps unintentionally, I'm calling him a con man.

Why am I beginning to feel like when John and Lou finally play it will be anti climatic? We are so used to seeing good players on live streams, playing all games, that I'm wondering how it will work to see two lesser players banging the balls around. I damn sure wouldn't want a game of mine to be streamed so people can see me hit balls into the rail. :D

It almost feels like there is beginning to be too much pre-match hype, that the actual match can never live up to. At this point in time I expect to be disappointed, sorry to say. And just may decide to not even watch it. I find myself so turned off by all this "noise" that I no longer care who wins or loses.

I know one thing, that I enjoy watching two good players go at it. I love it when they make the game look easy. I almost feel like they help me get in stroke just by watching. On the other hand, watching medicore players can get me out of stroke. Nothing personal, unless you want to take it that way. :)

No way, Jay. This match is the ultimate rubber-necker with a head-on collision, body parts strewn across the road and blood everywhere.

Rats. You had me on a Meryl Streep "Out of Africa" scene there for a moment:

Karen Blixen: Oh! get away from there! Shoo Shoo!
Denys: Shoo?
Karen Blixen: Oh! That's all my crystal, my Limoges.

Carry on... :p

Why would you hesitate to buy from me? Specifically?

I mean if that's the case then you want to tell me that you do research on every person or company whose products you are considering and judge them before purchasing their products?

I sincerely doubt that you do that.

What specifically have I done that is so bad you wouldn't buy a case if you and I have otherwise not had any personal run ins?

To that I want to also say that over the years it's been refreshing to get emails where people applaud me for standing up for what I feel is right in the face of criticism. So I guess I will have to live with the idea that some folks are turned off to my product because they don't like me and be comforted by the fact that many people are turned on to the product because they do like me, and they tend to be repeat customers.

And you know the best part?

I have some customers who were Barton-haters and when they got my cases and inspected them they sent me an emails that have basically said, "everything you have been saying is right, sorry for being an ass to you". And I have customers who disagree with some of my views and still we get along.

I would rather be MYSELF on here and give this community the real John Barton than to be some mouse in the corner afraid to speak up for fear of losing a potential sale. Potential sales are fantasies anyway. A sale happens when someone actually purchases something. My observation is that a person who chooses not to buy a case for whatever reason is not a customer anyway.

I have never had a single person withdraw an order because of what I have said on AZB. Not one. Ever.

So I focus on those who are actual buyers and not the potential buyers. Potential buyers get to read all about my product and my views and make their decisions as they wish to.

I am not a big fan of trying to control people by waving the "potential buyer" card. Sorry you don't get to tell me how to act NOW because of some vague promise of what you might do in the future.

Now if you stepped up and sent me a check for $1,000,000 to buy my brand under the condition that I quit AZB - sorry AZB I can be bought. :-)

But no doubt you have the research scientific facts that say otherwise

Dont forget TOI. That's another annoying thing you were hocking in the main forum.

Actually, put me in this camp. I avoided his cases because I equated the arguments to the case. Big mistake on my part. I finally purchased one of his cases and I can honestly say there is nothing else like it in terms of cue protection. You cannot own one of his cases and say otherwise. If you do, then you don't own a JB. To wit, an argument can be made then that if you don't own a JB than you don't case about your cues.
I own over a dozen cues (not much by other peoples standards) but know I must replace all my cases. I have 3 year old and even cases for storage get nocked over.

TOI - Great, or the Greatest?

Dont forget TOI. That's another annoying thing you were hocking in the main forum.

If you want to experience the aiming part of TOI try this:

Set up a slightly off angled shot (straight in to a spot a half diamond to the left of the corner pocket). This means you need to cut it slightly to the right, so look at the center of your tip, then get down as if it's straight in, aim at center (for your reference point and to "dial in your eyes"), then more your whole stick parallel to the shot line slightly to the right.

Hit it at the center, just like it's straight in and see what happens. It will cut slightly and go in, if it over cuts, set it up again and use LESS TOI. If it doesn't cut at all you're not using any TOI, cue it slightly more inside, to the right. After you make this and really FEEL the connection to the shot, more the angle where it's straight in to the first diamond repeat this drill.

This is how to calibrate the angles of TOI. There's no short cut to learning how much TOI to use to create the angles, I"ll just tell you it's LESS than you probably think it is.

After you do this you will start to "Real Eyes" what I've been saying about unintentionally deflecting shots OUT of the pocket in the past. If you just cue it a HAIR outside of center it will deflect a half diamond on a 4'-5' shot. Imagine how many balls you've missed by unintentionally doing this and having NO IDEA why.

This is why I strongly recommend NOT using center ball because{a slight stoking error} will happen and you won't be able to tell which side of center you "might" have hit. Maybe you didn't, maybe you did, who knows? How can you make the correct adjustment if you can't identify what he root issue of the miss is? You simply won't be able to, however, players like myself can and will beat you because of this knowledge.

I know one thing, you will not know for sure unless you start favoring one side of the cue ball and TOI is the best side because that's where your contact point is. Think about this, and it will make more and more sense. 'The Game is the Teacher'
