TAR 38 Results

I just want to settle in with some Skittles and hear some more stories about Lumphead. :)

To the two above. Shannon and victor.

The problem was, he was not saying things about himself or trying to work em out.
He was implying how "others" like Dennis or other players are always lucky and this B.S. Never happens to them.

If he had been implying it all to HIMSELF then that's completely different, but he was NOT. That's where the wrong is. He was referring to it as in the likes of people he's played on TAR.

He didn't to many times say, damn I hit that bad, what was I thinking. Or I can't believe I'm rushing myself, or I'm breaking bad. It was always directed at "others" not himself. You need to watch the loop again.

Yes he played hard, but TAR is just not for him in my opinion. He's a great tourney player, racing to 9/11/13 max, because he has to focus so hard to play his best long races are not his cup of tea. Mentally draining for his style. Best of luck to him at derby, he should be a force, it's races 9 in 9 ball. And 11 in Bigfoot.
.. what a load of trash you talk ..

Another thing it's not easy when u can hear every word the commentators are saying.. But that's part of the deal and I accept that..

I appreciate everything that tar do and have done for the game it's just shame the industry doesn't support them and more viewers.

Darren
..Quite right Darren the commentary was way to loud infact to a point where Dennis changed a shot at one point as soon as cotton mentioned he should go for ..

All a player has to do is say something to me. Thats it.

Just "Hey they are being loud."

There is music playing so its not like its dead quiet. Last night I was sitting after the match talking to Daz by the table after the match and I could barely hear him eight feet away. Thats probably because my hearing is shit but its not I like have the commentators posted up with megaphones next to the table.

Some times the music volume goes low due to the song and the commentators go loud and its easy to hear everything. This is the first match out of all the ones we have done that its been this big of an issue. In the future I will make sure the commentators know to keep quiet.

If he could hear it, then he should of told them on a 2 min. Bathroom break. Just been like hey guys, can you keep it down, I can hear you'll while I'm at the table shooting. I'm 150% sure cotton and Jay would of toned it down if they thought they were being heard by the players.
.... Well the commentators knew the players could hear them jay said so and then said we better turn the level down a little but did they NO they did not ..

They did turn it down. Then it went right back up. Players didnt say anything so I didnt say anything.

When you have headphones on it's really hard to tell how loud you are talking. When I took them off for a second a few times I heard how loud Jay was and I thought maybe I must be that loud also. We both would never shark the players on purpose as we respect them both. Sometimes in the heat of the match you get excited and tallk loud. Sorry about that really.

Don't apologize for that Bobby. You and Jay were great on commentary. I really enjoyed your stories, especially about Wade Crane. Pool isn't always played under silent conditions. When we go out to a bar or a pool hall, and there is loud music going, we don't tell people to be quit. If Darren or Dennis didn't talk to you about it during the match, then it isn't an issue to me. Its bad when everyone wants to interject themselves into a situation that they were not a part of. You guys did a great job and I thouroghly enjoyed the whole show.

First of all thanks Justin, next for the record I would NEVER shark the players on purpose for any reason and if by us talking too loud did, Jay and I sincerely apologize. I can easily go thru an entire match and not tell one old road story or voice my opinion on a players behaviour. But I thought people might like a story or two in addition to explaining every shot. I guess I was wrong. When I listen to other pool stream I like a story or two, well thats just me. When Darren was on the hill I really wanted Dennis to catch up and to see a hill/hill match. When he did I DID NOT have any preference of who I wanted to win the match. They both played great !

I dig a lot of the stories. Especially when you guys used them to fill time between racks.

No you were right. Just a small amout of people didn't like it. Don't listen to them. The majority of us loved it. Keep doing what you do and keep telling them stories. I look forward to the text TAR match an your commentary. I am going to pick up your book now from hearing you stories on TAR.

part of it

Well we were part of it. We paid to watch it and listen to it. We bet on it. If players are getting sharked intentionally or not it could have changed the outcome of the game as clearly DA fell off at the end. As noted earlier shots were looked at after hearing BC point them out. Overall I think the commentary was good and I enjoyed the stories mixed in with the outstanding playing comments. I just think they may have crossed some lines that could have affected the outcome. Maybe if DA doesn't hear them he calms down and buries a shot or two at the end who knows? From a viewer stand point they whined about DA whining a little too much. It got old.

Well we were part of it.

I should have explained more of what I was saying. It was their match, not ours. If they had no problems with it, then to me, it isn't an issue. Its like rabbid fans thinking they play for the team they root for. That is what I was talking about. We weren't playing the match.

understand

but DA said he clearly could hear everything they said and apparently it was a problem. I am not trying to say the commentary sucked or they shouldn't come back. Nor am I saying anything over the top like I wouldn't buy again. I watch everyone I can. Just that it happened and it prob wasn't a good thing. Prob shouldn't happen again.

I really liked the combo of the old stories and analysis of the games. I can say only because most of us don't know the old timers some new stories could be mixed in as well. I am sure you and Jay especially have access or knowledge of games that are played we never hear about.

I must have missed that part. Its easy to second guess people, but he could have told them to quiet down. I didn't see if he did or not. If he didn't, then to me there isn't to much to argue about.

lots of respect

I have lots of respect for Justin and TAR match he puts on. I have respect for DA and DO for playing the long matches and have respect for cotton and jay to be able to be there that long lol.

Good job all aournd and can't wait for the next one.

Just give each player and ipod and some earbuds. Justin could preload it with their favorite music such as Adele, Elton John, Rod Stewart and the Beatles for Daz and Journey for Dennis. They won't hear the commentators at all.

Watchez is the teacher.

My favorite part of the 8-ball was when Cotton was saying in the booth just shoot the 1-ball, just shoot the 1-ball and DAZ looked up and said "I can't see the 1-ball". I laughed my butt off and I could see Cotton turn beat red through his voice - who knew the players could hear them????? That was priceless - at that time Darren did say they could hear everything from the commentators.

(maybe it was the 5-ball and DAZ said he couldn't "hit" it, but you get the idea).

As far as the muttering under his breath, it came off bad while watching. It was not clear to us, the viewers, whether Dennis could hear it or not. I know that I play one guy and whenever things aren't going his way he goes to the rail and speaks very softly not thinking that I can hear, but I do and it sharks me a little. And he knows it.

If Dennis truly could not hear it so it was in no way a shark, then it was pretty cool to listen to and get insight into how a champion feels after mistakes, but if Dennis could hear...I agree it was a little bit of a shark move.

I'm now sorry I wasn't able to view the 10-ball.

Justin, excellent production as always. You proved why you're heads and shoulders over the last attempt at a PPV stream (earl v. efren) from another network (who would not even respond to anyone complaining about the stream). You acknowledge when there's a problem, let everyone know that you're on it, and fix it. Once it started, the 8-ball stream was flawless. TAR is the best!

All Darren had to do was say something. He didnt. He stated here that he knew going in that it can happen and he prepared for it. If it bothers a player all they have to do is say something. Darren is not blaming hearing the commentary so I dont know why anyone else is.
