Accu-Stats - Please stop using television balls!

Marketing-wise I think using the unique colors is smart. I actually like the colors, but I'm not sure whether I would opt for these or the more traditional colors if I had my own table to purchase them for.

As for commentators getting confused with the colors, DiLiberto will have a harder time with them because he is colorblind.

so the puke-green ("lime") is the 6?
not to be confused w/ the 1 & 9?
plus the 3 & the 5?

But puke green is my favorite color! Maybe they can add some beer and pizza colored marbling to complete the wonderfully gastric effect?

ok, we moved downstairs & hooked up to the TV, in hopes of better ball colors/numbers....

mind you, we are watching a 50inch plasma screen. and while the colors are slightly brighter, the ONLY balls that i am SURE of are:
8
10
cue
and i'm fairly sure that the fuschia one is the 4.

i need a chart!

and FYI, the commentators are calling the pea-green one: LIME.
and the mint-green one: ROBINS EGG BLUE.
(not that i know what fricken NUMBER they are)

I recently picked up the regular color Cyclop's balls and love them.

The TV colors do suck a-- !!!!

I am sure that Accu-stats will listen to all input and act accordingly. Putting a reference sheet in with the commentators is a great idea and something I would guess they could easily implement. The only thing they love more than good ideas is presenting great pool to the fans with quality and professionalism.

I wouldn't blame them for the color of the balls that the sponsor provides but I am sure it isn't asking too much to have a color reference sheet for the commentators so that they don't magnify the difference by constantly guessing what color is which ball. :)

I hope things go well and hope that I have time to buy a couple of nights of streaming and enjoy what they are providing. Thanks guys!

Watching on my computer I`m actually finding the 3 and 5 ball can be confusing at a glance. The 7 ball for some reason I`ve mistaken for the 2 ball at times. Wouldn`t bother me in one pocket or banks, but watching 10 ball has been tricky.

Yes please! If Cyclop is the sponsor, have them make a ball set with traditional TV colours. The skittles balls are ugly and hard to make out.

Chris, they are sponsored by cyclop balls, so they have to use them...

Jaden

They can use the standard set od Cyclop balls with the standard colors.

The so called "TV" set is terrible for TV. The 6-ball and 1-ball are very hard to distinguish and the 3, 4, and 5 are not a lot better.

It is actually easier to distinguish the balls on the standard set of balls, which is completely against the point of a "TV" set to begin with. The TV set is actually supposed to make things easier to see, but those Cyclop ball colors on TV do the opposite.

Just remember to give them the credit when everything goes right.

We do. I know you got some money off my Visa. When it comes to paid streams it is easy, you get people who pay you money and they get a service.

I have NEVER had Accu-Stats bother to send me a personal PM and tell me how smooth my credit card transaction went and how much they appreciate it.

My understanding is that Diamond is the sole US distributor for the cyclops balls and have used them in the BCAPL/CPI events as well. I do not think that Accustats has anything to do with them using these balls. And, they are different colors than the Aramith TV balls..they do look like skittles!

Last year I paid for "The Decider" PPV with Earl and Shane. They used the skittle balls and it was one of the reasons I only watched half the match.

I was looking at the accu stats web page, considering paying for some of the 10 foot matches. But now that I read they are using the skittle balls, I'll have to pass.

color chart

1st - we've discerned that the tint on our stream(s) is too yellow/red. which is why we can't distinguish b/w the CB, 1, 9, and 6. i don't know if it's the stream setting, or the incandescent lighting.

2nd - here's your color chart, according to our TV:

CB - YELLOWISH
1 - YELLOW
2 - DARK TEAL (BUT SHOULD BE BLUE)
3 - HOT PINK (BUT SHOULD BE RED)
4 - FUSCIA (BUT SHOULD BE LAVENDAR)
5 - REDISH ORANGE (BUT SHOULD BE ORANGE)
6 - LIGHT PEA GREEN (THEY'RE CALLING IT TEAL)
7 - MINT GREEN (BUT SHOULD BE BABY BLUE & THEY'RE CALLING IT ROBINS EGG BLUE)
8 - BLACK
9 - YELLOWISH (HARD TO DISTINGUISH THE WHITE/YELLOW LINES)
10 - BLUE

Bfdlad just confirmed that they used the exact same balls @ The Decider Match @ Montana w/ Earl v Shane. see above - we've checked on 2 laptops & plasma, and this link shows TRUE colors. (albeit not standard colors)

just FYI. good to know we're not smoking crack!

I don't mind them. The only reason I think people find it irritating is because
the colors are so new, they haven't memorized them yet. So it's annoying seeing
them line up on the 5, and not being able to tell what they're going after next.

After seeing this color set just a half dozen times, it will be burned into memory
and you won't even think about.

Besides that I think it's out of their control anyway. Something that IS in their control:
The saturation or color on the stream looks 'enhanced' somehow so that everything
looks oversaturated... carpet and rails super red, cloth practically glows in the dark.
