I am deleting threads here

gutshot really has it right on this call..........Jerry needs to place this fellow in time out for at least 30 days.
Next violation of the same type....one (1) year......he'll start taking it seriously, as will everyone else.
It's great to see people getting angry about this.......it 's been tiring fighting this battle with these as_holes.

I went gold just because seaglass' threads got deleted. If he gets banned, that will be even better.

Keep up the good work, everyone.

As previously mentioned, I do respect that the final negotiated price is a private matter. My point is that removing the original price from the original post, hinders the ability to research a reasonable opening pricing on the same or similar item, if you want to try to sell the same or similar item.

Retailer sites generally advertise new item prices in full or discounted. That helps establish an upper limit...I am referring to used items primarily. I do research, but am noting that this is made more difficult by removing the AZr's initial selling price from the for sale thread.

No doubt, if it doesn't move..it's probably priced too high. Just looking for another informational source to correctly ballpark pricing the item, after doing the research. Seems AZ asking prices would be a good start to putting up an initial price on an offer to sell on AZB. Not asking for privately negotiated deal terms...that's between the two parties...agreed.

An orderly market assumes informed buyers and sellers. That comes from information availability from multiple sources...I'm looking for one more...AZ seller threads.

There is no easy button. If so, it was sold, and the asking price was removed from the ad.

take care

My point was that eBay is often, not always, but most times a great barometer of what the market will currently bear on a particular maker's cues. We may not always like what we see when we believe our items are worth more, but it is what it is. Other than high-end cues from specific makers, the market is pretty flat...and people are just not willing to pay what they once were willing to pay in the past.

I also feel that many replace the asking price with SOLD, as to avoid an additional post at the end of the thread, making it immediately known that the item is no longer available in the first viewable post.

I was gold from the beginning but after a few incidents I decided not to renew one year.
There was a thread a little over a year ago about membership and it became obvious that gold membership is important and should actually be required if you are going to sell here.
I'm glad that some of the Seaglass threads were deleted.
Seaglass seems like a good dude (for a newbie), very aggressive from a marketing standpoint, but he doesn't deserve to be banned.
I don't know if he has gone gold yet, but there is a perfect example of why gold membership should be required to sell anything on AZ Billiards.
No offense to Seaglass, he is not the only one who thinks AZ is just a free Ebay for billiard stuff, but this is not Ebay or Craigslist, and people need to know & respect that.
Obviously the guys who come here looking for a free Ebay upset people, but others still buy their crap, so it's not a horrible thing..
The policies need to be completely rewritten in a fair and unemotional way, with gold membership requirements, and certain limitations and consequences put in place, so members know why we are all here in the first place.

I respectfully disagree. With how pr!ckly he has been to both gentle reminders and outright public lashings about his behavior, he steams right along being rude and breaking the rules. I think a month in time out is good for him to learn his lesson.

I agree.
You should see a reply I got from him when I pointed out that he is over bumping.

Yeah, since you put it that way, off with his head, or 30-days in the hole, or 30-days in the electric chair.

I tried to offer a polite and respectful heads up about editing instead of bumping, and his response was a disrespectful comment as well as name calling.

For those folks that are constantly selling on here, and making a decent income off of it...I might could see where a 'requirement' of a certain level of membership, or 'license to do business' might be an advantage to the site as a whole. However, there are those, such as myself, who rarely list something for sale. It's not a 'side' business for us. For many, it may well be out of a real need, so for a 'requirement' of membership to sell isn't exactly fair...especially since they are rarely the abusers. Perhaps a monthly ad 'limit' should be a determining factor.

The one's playing fair will list everything in one post, and adhere to bumping guidelines.

The ones who list 5-10 separate ads, and do not adhere to bumping guidelines are the problem here. The ones who list the same item, in separate ads, time stamped on separate days, just so that they can bump one of the ads every day are the problem here. The ones who have 'shill' bumpers are the problem here. Only on AZB do we have to deal with this sense of entitlement that these non-brick and mortar sellers running, often tax evading, side businesses and thinking they can do as they please.

I am not talking about the bona fide dealers that are members here. Most, if not all, seem to be able to abide by the rules. Most, if not all, actually contribute in a positive fashion to AZB's overall content. These wanna-be 'dealers' typically are not adding anything of value to the site to counter their abuse of bandwidth. I would be very much in favor of some sort of 'licensing' fee to those who sell very prolifically here. If they violate selling protocol, levy a fine. I bet when you hit them in their greedy little wallets, the behavior corrects itself, or they simply go away.

Just thinking out loud here.

You're right....punish the offenders...delete the thread....do something....anything just to get everyone's attention........Mods....where are you??????

And don't post saying this post of mine is a bump......DUH......it's a plea for help.....report AZers that flaunt rule-breaking with excessive bumps.

Matt B.
