I am deleting threads here

I like every idea that worminator proposes

You should only get one active thread in for sale section at a time. List 10 item as you wish or more. Close it and start new when items are sold. Edit and bump.
What good is accomplished for you if you take up most of a page with items when you are bumping your own threads way down and everyone elses too.
Cuemaster makes a practice of combining items in one thread as does Simon and others and I also try too. Less to keep up with.
Considerate?
Nick :)

Since you brought this up..........i've never in all my years buying and selling pool related items seen anyone trying to sell a USED TIP! You are also correct that that thread is taking up valuable real estate in the Wanted/For Sale section.

I don't think it's against any rule, but since i'm posting in this thread there's a seller who has "11" for sale threads on the first page at the same time! How inconsiderate is this guy to bump all his threads to the front page at the same time and move 11 sellers off the front page. I'll refrain from mentioning who it is, but he's taking advantage of the forum's free Wanted/For Sale section. The least he could have done is bump a couple of them at a time if he has that many for sale threads going at the same time, but by bumping them all at the same time he's dominating the front page.

We should all thank $TAKEHOR$E for finaly purchasing this fine piece of equipment.
Good luck with your new oh I mean used tip. Maybe have it made in to a button.

Right now page 1 wanted

5 of the first 6 threads are by one poster. He is selling 4 joss cues and I don't know how many George cases in three threads.
That could be in one dealeeo0000.
For sale Joss Cues and George cases???????????????????????????
Nick :)

yup...

Even better... If it's the one I'm thinking of with multiple threads, he hasn't even taken the time since he joined in January to become a gold member...

Said Seaglass505 over bumped almost every one of his threads. Mr. Wilson needs to put the hammer on most of his for sale items. All of the following are on page 1 due to his overbumping.

9 of 11 threads!
He is bumping his own threads off the page!

Also shill bumps for his friend Del. Mike - annoying. They are riding like 20 cues to the front page every day

I sent PM to all 3 of Mods this morning.
That guy doesn't want to listen and gets very rude when you tell him not to bump.

Related question

Since the kettle is back down to simmer from a rolling boil...a related question:

For the active sellers/buyers of pricier items: Is it a practice to remove the original asking price once sold? Even if the transaction is done via PM, after some negotiating..what harm is done in leaving the original price up after the item sells? It would at least provide some guidance in a range of pricing..so that others might recognize a price that is too high in the recent market when listing, or re-re-re-listing a similar item??

Just trying to learn something.

Listing prices are often different than when escrow closes. Closed sales info is available in certain market. Not here, unless it's an "I'll take it" sort of thing. When neither the original price (post-sale)or the final price can be known, it's hard to fault somebody for starting at a price that's out of line...unless everybody is expected to be current on every item offered for sale, every time.

just seems like nobody can do that except for the professional sellers, many of whom don't feel the cost of a gold membership is warranted, but neither want sales traffic to bury there offerings too far back.

I buy stuff...not high end stuff, but stuff. So far I haven't sold anything. If,when I do..I might price it wrong, the price I paid may be gone from the thread where I bot it.

I guess that's where we post, asking what's this worth. Then we get slammed for not selling something. We're told Put a price on it. Often there's little other guidance still posted to get a ballpark figure..damned if you do,...damned if you don't:wink:

...just saying

It's not too difficult to get an idea of what a current value is. Do a search here for whatever item or cue maker you are looking to sell. Do a similar search on eBay. Check a few dealers'/retailers' websites. Do some research. If it's not moving at the price you ask, then you need to consider that it may be priced too high for the current market.

People remove the final sales price because it does not matter what transpired between the seller and buyer...it's a private matter. If that is how a buyer and seller wish to handle their business, you have to respect that.

As previously mentioned, I do respect that the final negotiated price is a private matter. My point is that removing the original price from the original post, hinders the ability to research a reasonable opening pricing on the same or similar item, if you want to try to sell the same or similar item.

Retailer sites generally advertise new item prices in full or discounted. That helps establish an upper limit...I am referring to used items primarily. I do research, but am noting that this is made more difficult by removing the AZr's initial selling price from the for sale thread.

No doubt, if it doesn't move..it's probably priced too high. Just looking for another informational source to correctly ballpark pricing the item, after doing the research. Seems AZ asking prices would be a good start to putting up an initial price on an offer to sell on AZB. Not asking for privately negotiated deal terms...that's between the two parties...agreed.

An orderly market assumes informed buyers and sellers. That comes from information availability from multiple sources...I'm looking for one more...AZ seller threads.

There is no easy button. If so, it was sold, and the asking price was removed from the ad.

take care
