Scott Gracio I want my cue or money back now.

For the sake of the AZ community there should be a "Bad Action List"
of cuemakers pinned on the Wanted/For Sale page.

I thought about that, but I decided against it because I don't want to do anything disrespectful to the craft of cuemaking.
The bad action list in the action room is a bunch of degenerate gamblers, what a surprise. (no offense to the good action list guys, especially my friends on the good action list)
This thread is interesting because Scott Gracio is not a guy that would rip somebody off, and he certainly is not a con-man.
Scott doesn't realize that as he gets more popular, he needs to put out some fires once in a while and not be so arrogant, but people will get their cues eventually.
What amazes me is how many people sent money to some of the guys that ripped everybody off.
Sometimes you just have to inject some common sense before you send out a bunch of hard earned money.
People must either get caught up in the moment or have disposable income.

Chaz Dillon-rip off
Bad actor from the beginning, long before he got in to case making.
Chaz got banned for a year one time, first offense, just for being an out of control jerk.
His sale threads were creepy, I never trusted him, and look at all the people that sent him money.

Tony Zinzola-rip off

The word was getting out on Tony long before all this, but people were believing all the hype, and just caught up in the moment.
Lucky for me early on that a friend ordered a Zinzola that had problems, and a cuemaker I know secretly fixed it.

Lee Pepper-con man

Looked to me to be just a conversion/assembler type cuemaker, too much in to the raffle scene for my blood, and he never had anything nice to say.
Lee came off like a mean old jerk, can't believe anybody would give him money upfront.
Definitely a con-artist, and he used the raffles to pull it off.

Arnot Wadsworth

Ripped some people off badly, may be legitimately sick, but again he seemed like a mean old jerk, and what do you do with guys like that if you have a problem.
I don't need a cue bad enough to deal with it, I don't care who it is.

Hangemhigh-big time con artist
I know he did a lot of deals here but not with me, never liked him and never trusted him.
I thought hangemhigh was a jerk, and he definitely had an agenda here that I was aware of early on.

I could go on and on, and maybe I'm just paranoid.
I've been hanging out in pool halls since I was 13/1965, and in the 60's it was cool to be paranoid.
The funny thing is that this thread is supposed to be about Scott Gracio, and I trust Scott.

Sounds to me like a lot of people with hard earned money are getting
PORKED OVER. jmho

You should start a thread with this. As the new con artists make the list you can update the first post.

Don't forget Jim Lee

Made a decision to take Jim Lee out, but he was almost in.
There hasn't been any current information on Jim Lee.
A few years ago Jim Lee had some expensive cues in for repair that were not getting returned, he was way behind on cue orders keeping deposits, and he was ill.
After all of the recent fake "help me out I'm broke and sick" guys looking for handouts, I don't know if we can even believe Jim Lee either.
Again, I didn't trust any of those guys, and people should be skeptical every time they see it.
Jim Lee might be sick, or he might be faking it and paying bills using other peoples money.
I would have to see a note from the doctor to believe any of these jokers.

He lied repeatedly about the progress of the cue to a very good friend, and never sent pictures after multiple requests just to prove it existed. My friend was quoted about 6 months. 1.5 years later, no cue, no pictures, just constant lies. My friend never did get his $100 deposit returned and wasted all that time waiting when someone else could be building his cue. By the way it was his first custom cue experience, how sick is that? Jim will always be on my bad list. He may have had health problems which are no one of our business, but the constant lies, and not sending the deposit back because my friend wanted to take his business elsewhere (and there was no proof anything was ever started or purchased on Jim's end to get his cue going). It's your list, but no free pass from me.

A list of rip-offs and con men, not cuemaker specific isn't a bad idea, but it could be too negative and scare some people, especially the newbies.
This ain't the action room.
We are still trying to sell stuff, so I would like to see the current issues resolved, and maintain an upbeat marketing strategy.
Especially since I've sold like 3-cues in that last week.
After my unofficial retirement in 2012, I set a goal to sell a cue a week for 100 weeks out of my collection, until social security kicks in.
It's really about me, just kidding because these ripoff's, con men, and fakers make me angry whether it's me getting porked, a friend, or anyone, even a newbie.

If there was a list, Jim Lee would certainly be on it.
Everybody should make a mental note on that.
When I see the name Jim Lee, it always reminds me of the time someone posted a Chris Byrne cue "guess the cuemaker" and someone said it's a Jim Lee.
Then Chris Byrne posted "I think it's a Jim Lee"
Now there is an inside joke referring to Chris as Jim Lee.
Probably not funny unless you were there.

so from the above post i gather he is mad at the original poster after having kept is butt he sent in and never sent him a finished or anything in return after receiving full payment.

he started a thread claiming he was ripped off and gave lots of information on the theft but never anything that truly identified a real person. and then when many came forward and said it was the cuemaker that was ripping them off he stopped commenting.

he has sent something with a tracking number to the only person who threatened to call the police.

to others he has not responded after taken their money.

if i have this wrong please correct it or have the cuemaker respond with his side

I posted something on jim not to long ago. I still have some contact with him and I am still working on getting my cue. been 4 years for me. if I had the funds I would go to Indiana but I would rather have some one close get it and I would pay them a bit of money for their trouble..

You are correctamundo, the mis-shipped cue was questionable, and he isn't doing himself any favors by not responding.
I have no contact with Scott, did one deal with him a long time ago, but it would be surprising if the money (deposits-cues-butts-whatever) is gone like it is with these other guys.
AZ is pretty forgiving on this stuff, there is still time for Gracio.

The original Jim Lee thread was pretty active if I remember correctly,
What is your opinion overall about Jim Lee.
Is he just having problems and trying to work out of it, or does he go to the wall of shame?

not having a wall of shame on az just means more of the posters here will get ripped off in the future.

it could be moderated so no one gets blamed unfairly and where both sides can tell their story if they chose to.

and after officially correcting the problems they are removed.

Can somebody explain to me how this is possible?

all this talk of a wall of shame and nobody has given him negative itrader?!?

they probably don't want to risk getting a retaliatory negative

What is the point of having itrader if its not used? Scott would be way out of line if he gave back negative itrader but I wouldn't put it past him. I am sure the moderator of this site wouldn't let that happen anyways... right?

There have been erroneous and retaliatory itrader handed out without repercussion before. Admins will stay out of it. Not worth the risk. Unless we hear something otherwise...

Showman

What ever happened to the Showman Cue fiasco? What that ever resolved or did the thread die on the vine?
