if you could play like a pro?

Probably Busty! He plays well and seems to enjoy himself, both quite important to me.

Earl "The Pearl" Strickland

Who wouldn't want to be a genius for a day?

I'm waiting for Earl to come out wearing a lamp shade, complete with a 4 minute explanation on how it helps his game, then explain to the crowd how it isn't easy running out on Diamond tables.

I want more than just the skills & talent. I want full-on Earl. I would love to see how his mind works & experience it. I do not mean that in a sarcastic way at all. I've admired his game & persona for many many years. To play like him is one thing, I want to think like him as well. That would be one hell of a ride.

Efren would have wiped the floor with Mosconi. Willie was of course the greatest straight pool player of his era but he was IN MY OPINION not much of an all-around-player. Efren in my opinion would have won his share of 14.1 matches against Willie but I doubt Willie would have won many one pocket matches against Efren. 8 Ball and rotation games forget about it.

Flame retardant suit on. :-)

He did not need to learn any other game but straight pool ,,that was the game that was considered the hardest and certainly most played at that time he was a child prodigy no not from 10k hours of practice but rather a natural from the time he could stand on a create and win money for his dad at the age of 11 ,, Later on during his run he tucked away 15 world titles ,, He never changed his name , grew a beard ,, a hat and sunglasses , he played straight up ,,,
You could probably take every player in history and multiply it by 10 on TV appearances outside the pool room and Willie had more , he was a true Icon of the game
If there were more like him the game may not be in the shape it is in today

It would be nice if you actually would read a real biography of Willie Mosconi before opening your mouth.

Willie started when he was 7 (I think) and practiced and played so much that he QUIT playing by the time he was 14. He already had more than 10,000 hours in by the time he started competing nationally.

He was influenced by the FACT that he was around pool in his father's pool room. He snuck in to use potatos to play with. He was encouraged and taught by his uncle.

I guess he never went to school or slept ,, yes at or around 7 he started and his dad was setting up matches I highly doubt he had 10k hours of practice in,,, he was junior champ by 11 ,,, yes he quit never hit a ball came back and won almost every turny he entered
He was world class long before he had 10k hours of practice potatoes don't count

I pick Hunter Lombardo and hopefully I also get the solon quality hair.

Am I crazy for thinking this, or does Hunter look like Aaron Eckhart (two face from Batman)?
Also, is he still a kid or does he just have an unusually elfin build?

I can say who my favorite player is to watch for sure. Amazing accuracy with a very powerful stroke, and amazing fluid delivery with a soft one. Steve Mizerak.

Just came to my head while I was in the pool hall practicing today lol, if say for one week or few days, you can have the skills of one professional pool player today retired or currently playing who would it be.

Just the pool skills and pure talent, who would it be and what would you do for that one week?

Just one player!!

My pick would be Efren ... took me a good 15 minutes between him and earl but id go with Efren.

I'd go with Alex.

First choices would be Don Willis and Efren Reyes. I would probably flip a coin.

came out "smelling like a Texas rose

Tell Keith and Corey we want Stories from Lambart's in Louisiana 😊

That may have been before Corey's time.

FLYBOY was gambling really high in those days. Strong Arm John was the first one to take him off, then several of us did. Shannon beat him out of 120k one night, I won 15k just betting on the side.....those were the days.

I had an epic match with Amarillo Slim.....I still think I may have been "double steered" into that game, but came out "smelling like a Texas rose".

Karen Corr, I mean what man doesn't want a pair of his own to play with for a while.
