Clear Coat about ready

Exactly, that's why if this product can offer the same uv protection on bright work, without the color changing problems of Cetol, its a home run.

I hate Cetol with a passion...especially when you leave someone else to do the job and they slop it on.

Tom,

I'm very interested as well. Keep us all posted since I'm sure many cue makers would be very interested in a good alternative to auto clear.

Coming along nicely

Well, everything on the application end is checking out nicely. The UltraCueGlaze is about what I was hoping for. I am getting some Tech Data sheets done and MSDS, it will be shipped nonhaz.

No shelf life

You will be required to wear a respirator while applying simply because I don't want you ingesting any.

Can be applied by Paper towel or cup gun, dry to touch 20 minutes @ 76 F.

Once applied you hang it in your shop, no off gassing.

I believe I will be calling for a coat every 20 minutes to build to desired thickness. If you do not finish or need to put additional material on the following day or past you will need to sand first.

When ready should I offer it in Pints, quarts or gallons?

It appears a couple of Oz's will do a cue, maybe a little more (or less if you use epoxy base).

Thanks for looking.

If it were me I'd only do quarts and gallons just for the simplicity and make is easy on yourself. Not like you dont have enough on your plate already. I'm about as small time as they get and I went through a quart of Ceramathane in no time.

This makes sense for just cue making but there are other application where a smaller amount makes more sense. Pen turning is a great example.

I've ONLY done j/p's and haven't even finished a cue yet and went through a quart in no time. However I completely understand your point and reasoning. Just trying to make it easy on Tom since he asked.

Tom, how has the sanding/buffing tested out? Also, is there any 'bad' stuff in it like isocyanates? Especially if it's sprayed?
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I sanded with 600 grit, rubbed some car rubbing compound, went to #1 machine polish than regular wax all by hand, looked better and glossier than the spray. I am going to roll and buff later in week using the buffer I bought from you.

Nope nothing bad in it but want dust masks worn while sanding, don't wat anyone swallowing air born nothing.

I got some 1" X 12" dowels of ebony I can send ya if you want a few Tom.

Anytime Tom. It's a standing offer if your others fall through. Being only 1" dowels they're a lot cheaper than a forearm or a whole turning blank.
