Cue Experts I Need your Help HELP

Maybe George moved away from the furniture bolt to connect the handle and forearm?
Have you thought of asking Bill Schick? He once told me he patterned the dimensions of his cues on a Balabushka cue. Martin

Martin

Its my understanding that George always used the same bolt and that that bolt always looks just like the one in my x-ray which matches the x-ray in Ernie's shop so exactly (right down to the space drilled for and aft) that they appear to be of the same cue (but they are not).

OK.I now know both cues in this thread to be Balabushkas. One is a Gus arm and the other a full length Spain. Which proves at least two things:

a) ken4fun was right when he posted that I often don't know what I'm talking about

and

2) Ernie Gutierrez is always right.

Thanks

Good News

Hello Kevin,

I do not know how I missed this thread. I am happy you established these are real. We discussed an issue I had with a cue several years ago, prior to my knowledge of AZ. You gave me excellent advice and I am grateful. My issue was resolved, with he owner, not the broker. Both knew what they were doing. Both POS. Fortunately, I kept the x rays sent via US mail.

these are nice cue.
all the best,
Phil

The best thing about being done with some POS is that in the end you get to be you and they are stuck being them.

Kevin,

I demand an explanation for the new Avatar. Are those raffle tickets? Did you win? Is the cat OK? If you won, are you still available for part time friendship?

Congratulations on discovering your cues are Balabushkas.

I wish you the best of rolls,

Ken

OK..

When I play I bring my own balls and they are laminated full splice with Kamui rubber cores...

I use the ULFD Pro-2 Aiming system. (Unicorn, Leprechaun, and Fairy Dust)

Game on... first one to 10k tickets wins a plastic parachuter...

JV

You play?

Let's woof.

I rule.

JV (---and they wonder where are the new collectors?!?!?!?

But isn't a cue dealer tradition? Welcoming a well-heeled new collector into the fold with a foooooocking? Sort of like a new guy being "jumped in" to his gang.

Interestingly enough, that great thing I told Phil to do which got him on the track to straightening out his situation, is the same thing I did with one that left me scratching my head ( until you stepped in).

In case there is anyone that doesn't know, Joe van is a huge cue resource, especially in regard to those makers crazy enough to base themselves on the East Coast.

I only play on tables re calibrated by either Mark Gregory or RKC (although not by both at the same time anymore apparently).

Not at all. But while were on the subject, allow me to show you a few investment grade Dale Perry 1 of 1's...

Chuck E. Cheese? Santa Monica Pier?

Those kids are tough.

Santa Catalina "Fun Zone".

When I walk in, the kids step back in respect and whisper to each other, reporting tales of games they claim to have seen me roll.

I, of course, am cool about the whole deal and nod to them in recognition.

I said it in another thread and I'll say it a again. The words should be nurture and promote, not Vaseline and suffocation. Of course we all have things we do not like, I have mine, and so be it. But generally if its a new collector and the possibility exists that he will take the hobby seriously, then no he shouldn't get "jumped in".

All I know is the USS Pool is sinking and it seems like all the life preservers are made of concrete.

I don't know what happened with Phil but I can name the dealer in less than three notes.. :)

JV (---- Name that Tune reference...

So when you walk in do they play Bad to the Bone on the jukebox?

Kevin's Dos Equis reference....

I don't usually play Skeeball.. but when I do I will the biggest prize with one ball....

On a serious note, your welcoming of me into the cue world was completely earmarked with your honesty, integrity and fairness.
