Cue ID help please

I don't understand the people making jokes or thinking I am somehow making a joke, if I knew what the cue was I don't really see where the funny would be.

Well it isn't that often that people come here with a yardsale cue, the pictures of which so obviously point to a cue with a value close to 10 000$.

If you are serious, take good pictures and send them to Mr. Tascarella.

Of course, there are many other possibilities, the cue might be a tribute or maybe a rare Palmer or whatever, so don't get your hopes too high up.

And if you are not serious, then well played mister. I must say I still think this has to be the case.

I think it's a fake Balabushka, for what it's worth. Since we only have a couple of pics to work with, so far the most obvious and glaring point to me is the ebony prong edges are not properly smoothed. Spain forearms are not rough like this. The wedding band ring looks pretty good, however. A fake using some authentic parts maybe.

I can crop pics on my iPhone.

To OP: Please remove the joint protector and take another shot. The idea of taking a joint pic is to see the type of pin used. This can help determine which cue maker made the cue.

I believe I got all the info I need via some helpful people in PMs. I think others have tried to help but telling me to contact a person and not giving any contact info is not really help. Thanks to some great PMs I have all I need now. in any event here is the pic you requested.I cropped it hope that doesn't offend anyone

nice find and congratulations. stop wasting your time here and contact pete tascarella.

maybe you could take a picture of it next to piece of paper with you username written on it... just to silence the skeptics.

Telling a person to contact Pete (A guy I've never heard of) is not good advice unless you give a phone number or E-mail address, also I am not sure if this will silence any skeptics but it sure made me feel better. For all those who think this was a joke please tell me why you are still here and why you would take time out of your busy days to post.

For all those who tried to help I thank you, and for the few who really did help in PMs I really thank you.

I would not sell that cue lol... I would wait for the letter from Pete and either keep or sell......

BTW, IMO (just going by the pics, and the foil above the wrap) you more than likely will be getting a pretty positive letter from Pete.

The wedding band ring is the exact material seen on other Buskas. The diagonal rows of 4 dashes, spacing of the bars. Looks to be a Spain forearm. Cortland wrap.

APA is contacting Tascarella and soon enough this will be available. In the 20k range easy. What a find. Just incredible.

The wedding bands are definitely very very rare outside of Bushka's cues. Pete is one of the only other ones who used it (and I believe that was George's stock).

But it is a list of things together. The Spain/Davis (Davis also made shorty forearms and not just full splice) style forearm, the location of the dots in the points, the rings, the original red material, the pin, etc... About the only thing that would help picture wise would be under the bumper.

Tascarella is certainly going to want to make an in person inspection of this cue.

Yeah its dead on.
The buttsleeve looks too good to be true...but the real deal would.
The MOP dots in the base of the points are exactly as the should be. The notched diamonds are hand cut and are just like other known Buskas.
The pin photo is further evidence just identical.

How many more cues of this caliber are floating around estate and yard sales? Cues that sat idle for 10 to 20 years in a widows home. How many were purchased by buyers who gave no idea what they have?

I made a few great finds before. Lately nothing too crazy, but always looking.

Cool. Maybe he'll see this and not help you out when you find out that contacting is the only advice.

You're welcome.

Freddie sorry you took it the wrong way, your offer along with others via PM is what helped me out. I truly appreciate your help in how to find Mr. Tascarella. In the end I decided to take a very generous offer, my daddy always taught me that pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered.

To all who thought this was a joke (you guys were right) all I can say is I am laughing, the new owner will contact Mr. Tascarella if he chooses, he can also let everyone know his findings if he chooses as he is a member here who posted in this thread and was the first to contact me via PM.

Thanks to all who helped in this matter.

Hopefully the new owner will post the findings of Mr. Tascarella. Very interesting find, for sure. I may have to start hitting yard and estate sales!

I spend more time than I want to admit sifting through pawns shops, yard sales, estate sales, antique shops and thrift/resale shops. I also buy more than just cues.

You will find stuff if you look long enough. But a lot of my finds are older production cues and a few lower end customs. For the most part you'll find stuff for 20-30 bucks that you can resell on ebay for 100.00.

Its worth it if you enjoy the hunt but not hugely profitable.

I do find a lot of junk house cues. Typically nothing that can be converted but I have other uses for them.

I did find 6 Brunswick Tru-Balance cues at a junk shop outside of Dallas a few months ago. All in great enough shape for conversion.

FuNNY!! I guess he told you P.King..lol.... darn!! was hoping the picture would be attached...

yep, new owner is VERY VERY Happy I'm Sure...

bcsnave...Well if it turns out to be a real Bushka, it'll be his Ex-wife! LOL IMO, it still doesn't "look" right for a real Balabushka...but you never know. Tascarella will know for certain. Good luck to the new owner, and I sure hope he/she lets us know the outcome of the investigation. :D
