rates are relative, hers are high relative to the top men
$70 for 2 hours ?
What a steal.

Not all Champion players are necessarily great instructors! Karen happens to be both. I would be interested to know which top men players who also are top instructors have better rates. Thanks for your response to the thread smashmouth... Look forward to your list of top men players and their rates for lessons!

Agree with Tronpocket. Had 2 hour session with Karen today. First time to meet her. Great teacher, not pushy, analyzed my stance, grip, stroke. Highlighted the flaws and the whys and negatives. Basic things that I have been overlooking and/or unintentionally compensating for in my stroke. For intermediate players, bring her your concerns or questions...you won't be disappointed.
I have had a 2 lessons with Karen and they were fantastic. She was extremely pleasant, personable, and gave me fantastic points to work on, which were written down for me. Helped my game tremendously. Highly recommend!!!
100/hr for individual lessons is steep. Plus she doesnt have to pay taxes on it. Most blue collar working stiffs might be lucky to bring home 150-200/day after tax. Then ask him to blow it all on 2hrs of pool instructions is a bit hard to swallow.
But hey, its her time and she can ask for however much. I just would like to see some of these pro players give back to the pool community a little. I'm not asking for handouts, just something a bit more affordable.
Just my opinion...
