(got tired of the BS with the titles)

Anyway, I see that the hopefuls are still hopeful. Well good, and you should be but "I" don't see Shane winning an oversea title EVER. Yea yea yea it could happen and good for him if it does but I don't think it will.
And to those of you who say "oh he'll get it next year, cause he's going to work hard, and blah blah blah" well guess what, so are all those other players.

There Europeans have done the most damage on that stage and will continue to do so, shane "as great as he is" is an american bully and for the most part in my book and for the most part just capable of beating up on the american boys.

"that's my take on it..... do (you know the rest)

This is garbage.

Haha, it's tough to fade a tournament where it's alternate break with a magic rack against 127 other professionals that are capable of holding serve the entire match. It's kinda like winning the WSOP main event -- extremely hard to do.

Magic rack alternating break is ridiculous...I could win that with maybe 8 good rolls. Needs to be race to 9 winner break to be the best man wins. Plus this event draws the best of the best. At least 20 guys are supposed to win in, but only 1 can.

What a horrible OP. Shane is a great player, as well as a great individual. He will win overseas at some point. He played well in most of his matches in Qatar. He played very well in his final match. The tables following the break worked against him throughout if you actually watched that match. The opponent he played had an incredible match though. If you know pool, and I question whether the OP does or not, then you understand the difficulties you face when your opponent is in a zone, or in stroke, if you prefer. Take that opponent, make him a pro, and imagine your odds. Shane is one of the greatest players to come along in a very long time. He's good for the sport. He travels and plays abroad, even when not in tourneys, all of which is good for the sport most of us here on the boards love very much. It's human nature to sometimes root for the favorite to lose, or the underdog to win, and that's understandable. But, it's immature at best to come on here bashing that favorite when he loses. In competitive sports, someone has to win, and someone has to lose. If you can't handle that simple fact without angst, then maybe you should take up a non-competitive sport.

Why do you think these tournaments are alternate break, it's because if it was winner break, the best player would put packages on the lesser player. If these tournaments really want the best players to win they would be winner breaks. Some people work really hard on developing a great break, Shane and Corey, just to name a couple, then you have players crying that they have too much of an advantage.

Out of curiosity more than anything, since this is a longshot, if Shanes on the Mosconi cup team and they win overseas this year would that count?

You obviously haven't looked at the rosters of the tourneys here that he is dominated if you think he's only capable of putting a beating on "American Boys". lol...

Yeah fifth in the world's in an alternating break format on relatively easy conditions and all of a sudden, he can't possibly win anything overseas.

I have to laugh at all the haters...

Jaden

Were the conditions considered easy? I noticed a number of players (Shane included) rattling pockets. It had me curious about the table

20 years from now, nobody will remember who won this tourney but most will still be talking about Shane as one of the greatest players ever.

Shane has beaten the best ten ball players in the world in the hardest formats. Sports is about data not your misinformation. He may suffer worse from jet lag on account of his hearing loss than the normal person. I think you need to factor this in. If you are not sleeping well this can effect your peak performance.

Lol.

Shane has proven that at his best,he plays at a speed that rivals the best pool any of us have ever seen, running off and leaving people.

The problem is,with the Magic Rack, clean cloth and balls, and a quantum leap in the number of players worldwide that basically do nothing but hit balls and train all day long, that on a given day in tournaments, there are probably 40-50 other guys that can hit that gear in 2-3 hour spurts.

Now add to that the alternate break format, which makes even the tiniest mistakes an almost guaranteed 2 game penalty, and SHIT JUST HAPPENS PEOPLE :(.

I'm with the people that think he will win one or more before he's done.

Do I know why he hasn't won one already? No,but my guess is something others have already mentioned, and that directly relates to travel issues.

For example,he flies to a foreign country, and unless he has a personal assistant to take care of shit like this,he has to decide where and when to eat a couple times a day at least. That alone has to have an effect on some level.

I can't fault anything he's done up until now as far as his preparation, but maybe there is something different he can do like getting there a couple days earlier, etc. Tommy D.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, I however choose to not bet against one of the (if not THE) best players. Especially, when attached to EVER. Amazing talent and one hell of a nice guy. I understand not liking someone for whatever reason, I just don't understand the hate for SVB.

Shane is a great pool player but not a bully. The bully title should go to someone like Earl. Don't know what Shane did to you. Did he kick your behind?

You don't know much about pool.

The two finalists were European. Surely they face the same problems travelling abroad?
