I miss playing pool for money

it was unfortunate when they rolled in here @ OCT for the Am Rotation semi finals - 1 week late. and then left for the East coast & the pool hall was under construction.

I think what he was saying that your posts are sometimes as difficult to understand as the one you were complaining about, hence the irony. I don't think he was saying that you don't know what you are talking about, but I'm sure he will correct me if I'm wrong. Luv ya but you do have your own special sort of "shorthand" writing style that does take some deciphering and decoding at times. :grin:

Doesnt suprised me since Jay sounds like a better than average league player but not going to lay down 3 or 4 in a row. Rhea is not a break and run player but she is a grinder. I played her a while back and she was good at the 5 ball outs and rarely fired at somthing that wasnt going to leave shape.
 
That is actually a great table - great pit at Kenny's and should have more action on it.

This table is winning. They have each missed the 7, 8, or 9 10 times. Rhea follows in the 5, 7 off the table and cant be missed . Jay sinks the hanging 8. Makes the 9. 10-9 jay.

This match is all about critical errors near the 7 ball. Rhea misses 4. Jay runs 4, 5, 7, 9 . 14-12.

Like a gnat, she just wont go away. I really dont remember too many games where she beat herself during our match.
 
You won Rhea........now take your winnings and go home.........wait for the next opportunity.

There are 3 very different games going on that was explained to me long ago that you may need to learn.

1. Playing pool = Which you are reasonably good
2. Gambling = This game takes street smarts
3. Playing pool and gambling = This is where the tires meet the road.

If I have never played a player before I need to know his weaknesses and this can take several games to discover. Once discovered I adjust my game to take advantage of those weaknesses.

In other words, if you are going to play pool and gamble do not come out shooting lights out on the first rack.

My policy is to play just a little bit better than my opponent to score the win (I don't gamble but hate to lose). I do not like getting into a game and running over them like a freight train. To me there is no glory in that.

Don't play the game to just gamble, play it to win gracefully and walk away with a smile on your face knowing that your fundamentals didn't break down and that you played relaxed and focused. :wink:

Learn to play the game, the money will come. Don't force it. Just wait.

So much for the rant.
