thank you to CJ Wiley for teaching, learning, growing and sharing!

Good post. (all this stuff with that guy started when I gave a testimony about how the TOI thing has been successful for me and others. Then he started with the jawboning and he got back what he dished out. Pool players, generally speaking, cannot handle that...their idea of discussion is "you shut up while I have my way")
If the situation is as you say, then the only thing for someone with a sound mind to do is get out of this idiotic racket right now and never look back.
Sounds like the inside of the game hasn't changed much at all.
The last thing I'd want is for anyone I cared about to end up like these old road agents with nothing left but stories of how many people they trapped and robbed.
What a horrible way to die.
Thanks for your comment.

Before you get to jaded on pool, understand that that kind of stuff happens every day in all walks of life. From some t.v. preachers to the highest office in the land, and everywhere inbetween. Just because it happens, doesn't mean the majority do it. There are liars, cheats, thieves, con-artists, hustlers in all walks of life.

Did you even watch the video?

Did you even watch the video?

It's not uncommon for me to beat the ghost 50% of the time, however, in this video I'm also describing what I'm doing on every shot.....and, by the way I ran more than one rack in this video.

Here is the link so you can watch it before you start criticizing something you haven't any experience with. CLICK HERE

So, I ask again since you're so easily impressed; How many times do you think your hero DIDN'T run all 15 balls in rotation before he finally did it once and posted it to YouTube?

You are very impressed with one posted video that may have taken 15-20 attempts before succeeding. We know the norm in MLB is .300 for a good hitter. What's the norm for your hero?

CJ,
I'm not sure, but I think MANY people on this forum don't "real eyes" just how well you play TODAY!

I have made it a habit to watch as many of the professional players' matches as I can and I have seen some of yours, up close, and you still have a TOP-TOP, PROFESSIONAL GAME.

I am still amazed at the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth that goes on when you mention any of your techniques. It is even more amazing that you don't give your haters a tongue-lashing that they deserve. Credit to you for having great tolerance.

Thanks for staying around AZ Billiards. WE ARE BETTER PLAYERS BECAUSE OF YOU!

And yes, TOI does work and it works very well.

There you go again trying to cause divisiveness on here. Anyone that disagrees with any iota of what the great CJ says is a hater and deserves a tongue lashing. No one is allowed to voice a differing opinion. While CJ is allowed to say anything, whether it makes sense or not, just because he can play. Get over yourself Joey. Don't worry, your hero isn't going anywhere. What is amazing is that you toss all the teachings of Dr. Dave, Bob Jewett, Mark Wilson, and others that have spent years studying the game in favor of someone that doesn't even know what english is.

And since it's been lost on your myopic view of things, no one has said that toi does not work at all. Dr. Dave even has an article on it. Even I have said in this thread that it has it's place. But that is it, it has a place in the game, just not all over the place, and not used as often described on here by some.

Thinking like yours and a few others on here has no place in anyone that truly wants to learn and get better. The fact that you compartmentalize who said something, instead of what was said, will only hold you back. That kind of thinking shows a certain lack of intelligence and is more fitting for the NPR political posts. Any intelligent person will weigh what has been stated and go from there. A less intelligent person will dismiss whatever was said because of who said it, and praise whatever was said because of who said it without giving it due diligence on it's merits. Which type of person do you want to be??

With each day fresh hope springs eternal.....

CJ, you sure have a gift for polarizing people. Seems folks here are either complete nut huggers or critics. LOL What would the site be without some controversy?

you'll "real eyes" that I was quoting something FLASH said about himself

Please don't jump to any conclusions, I was sharing in FLASH's joking manner.

I think if you read what I was responding to (notice below bold and highlighted) you'll "real eyes" that I was quoting something FLASH said about himself......and he said it jesting, and that's how I "quoted" his remark. I certainly wouldn't have said that about anyone out of all due respect. "Tactfulness is the Teacher"

I agree.....I think I'll just keep riding along with this TOI. It works great for me and I've been robbing most everybody. I even bought another of those goofy dragon covered pool sticks from Walmart to shoot with. (No need for the Predator...it arouses too much attention)
By the way, it took me all of 15 minutes to 'adjust' to using the crummy cue.
But the gravy train is soon coming to an end..."they" are starting to back off from all those big spots they used to hand out to the "silly old man in the veterans hat". The pond is going dry...

Flash

CJ,

First time I've disagreed with something you have said. Veterans, like myself, wear a veteran's hat because they are damn proud of their service and their country. Yes, I am old, 72, but don't consider myself as "silly". If you would have left out the "silly" part, I wouldn't have had a problem. Just saying.

US Navy Vet and damn proud of it.

This may not be the thread, but it seems to be getting a lot of reads...so I guess I will play here.
Someone posted something about fooling around on the table with a stick that has no tip to develop skills at hitting dead center ball. Since I am naturally curious, I had to try it out.
I pulled the old "tomato stake" cue out of the garden (after replacing it) and washed off all the dirt and crud. Sanded the whole thing again, the end of the shaft as well and made it ready for the table.
Let me tell you, workouts with that thing will FORCE you into getting better at center ball hit, in spite of yourself.
It is a great discipline and practice tool. I really like working with it for about 30 minutes a day, before picking up the regular cue with a tip on it.
Whoever suggested that idea........I thank you.

......

Please don't quote me as a lead in for another add on what you are selling. And, since when does making a DVD equate to the person knowing what they are talking about? There are plenty of DVD's out there to prove just the opposite.

If you feel I am naive, how do you think you look when you stated what you did, and then question Dr. Dave about it also?

pieces of "STICK" were flying off when I was breaking

That reminds me of the time I played the guy in Detroit with "THE STICK"....you may have read the story, he actually made me play with a cue with no tip and no ferrule.....pieces of "STICK" were flying off when I was breaking, and I got nervous that I may "run out of STICK" before the gambling match was completed. :D

I have some "inside information" for you......"Bet the DO"

I guess so, seems the crowd is split between those that think I don't know what "english" is and those that do. I have some "inside information" for you......"Bet the DO" ;)

Just remember: YOU are the one that stated that putting spin on the cb is not english. Then YOU went on to explain yourself by stating that english is putting spin on the cb, but putting spin on the cb is not english.

"THE ENGLISH TEACHER" which is a graphic cue ball with the exact spot marked

So your position is that I don't know that "english" is putting spin on the cue ball? That is simply brilliant, your wisdom and intuitiveness is indescribable.....it really is. :D

Who would have ever dreamed that someone that put out a video about applying "english" and came up with an entire section called "THE ENGLISH TEACHER" with graphics and detailed instructions to applying "english" would not actually know that "english" was spin.

What's next, take the position that I think the cue ball is square rather than round?

Below is from the back cover of my 2nd video (of the 3 part series 'Ultimate Pool Secrets') that uses "THE ENGLISH TEACHER" which is a graphic cue ball with the exact spot marked to show where you strike the cue ball to produce the desired spin. The English Teacher uses actual shots and describes in detail how you can do it too. 'The Game is the (English) Teacher' ;)

VOLUME TWO: ESPN World Champion CJ Wiley teaches you his systematic approach to playing great pocket-billiards. CJ invites you into his home for the ultimate pool lesson. In this volume, CJ describes each step of his systematic approach to applying "English," creating angles, establishing zones, improving your weaknesses, and much more. This volume also contains actual shots from ESPN matches and a description of how you, too can make these shots under pressure--whether you're a beginner, a league player, or an aspiring professional.

Well, I'm just stating what you stated, so, if you don't like it, you have no one but yourself to look at.
