NEVER..... EVER..... EVER..... GIFT $ TO ANYONE FOR A PURCHASE PERIOD!!

ALWAYS choose "Goods or Services" and pay extra for the fees. That way you have a recourse if a transaction goes bad...

If you gotta quibble over a few extra bucks instead of being protected then you're walking into issues and deserve what comes of it...

Read the late great Kevin Brewer's posts on this. He has some excellent and ROCK SOLID advice for never getting screwed in situations like this.

I don't like to receive money as a gift for three reasons.

1. there is no address on the payment.
2. the sender has no recourse.
3. it screws PP out of money and they are providing a service that we all need.

This. I've said it several times in the past. To be honest I refuse to do business with sellers that will only take gift payments no matter how much I want the item because if something happens there is no way to get my money back.

I've read this whole thing and I guess I'm still at a loss. As I've understood it:
1. Pook sent money to dex.
2. Less than 24 hrs later, Pook files a dispute.
3. Dex doesn't send the cue because clearly he got a message from paypal informing him of the dispute.
4. Drama
5. Drama
6. Drama
7. Somehow and in some way Pook convinces dex to refund only $100 of the $160.
8. All is apparently well with the world.

I see red flags and banners and billboards and planes in the sky making bigger red flags with both parties.
Dex may have been scamming but it seems scammer - esque also to file the dispute within 24 hours.

Pook, you kinda weird me out with that but yes get all your money.
Dex, if you are scamming, you need to be taken out and beaten.

Pleasant rolls to all the good folks on AZ.

This is unfreakingbelievable! Lol red flag for me? I fvcking got screwed here and you wanna give me a red flag? And you guys wonder why pool society is getting worse and worse....Im the one who got fvcking rob and get blam for this shit? Unreal...I am so ****ing done with this tread! Have a heart fellas!!!

I have a heart. I said I found it odd that you filed the dispute before 24 hours was even up. Then, it's also odd that you just happily accepted $100 of your $160. Just weirds me out. I'd be getting all my money back. Laying down with just over half your money back is a bit creepy.

Your definition of creepy is slightly different than mine. I think the OP is just sick and tired of dealing with all of this and wants to be done with it. That is why he got the $100 back and says fk it about the other $60 (not speaking for OP, just taking a guess here). The other guy was obviously pulling a move so maybe the OP feels fortunate he was able to recoup what he did. A lot of times scammers/scumbags don't give back a dime.

This is true. I suppose the gifting part does make the money being returned a little tougher. I had forgotten that tidbit. Hehehe

Exactly! Thank you!

You just don't know who Pookie is!

The man has been around pool for a long time, he knows when something isn't rite!

Lot of us Pool players, gamblers from the Baltimore and Dc area have been around the block more then a few times!

Getting back 100 of the 160 that's owe to you, is much better then never getting the 160 back.

Thats why Pookie took the settlement!

Sad thing is if Pookie didn't have the ripoffs picture, he probably wouldn't of gotten any of his money back!

Do not put the Pookie in a corner...he's a solid cat with a hounds nose for the BS, glad you got your settlement and kept it moving bro

The problem was that another poster said they would buy the cue, and send money. So Pooky was worried and starting sending the seller messages asking what up? No answer.

Then the seller finally comes on and says the only message he got was from the other buyer that said he would send paypal as soon as he transferred the funds or some bs. And he was not to sure why pooky was freaking out. Meanwhile, the seller did not say to whom he sold the cue to ??

Had the seller just said this, "sorry, the cue is sold to pooky, and I'm shipping it the first thing in the morning and the other guy is NOT buying the cue", there would have been not one problem most likely.

The seller dropped the ball, and pooky saw the fumble and jumped on it. He should still get the other $60 back. pooky only promised he would not post his pic on the internet to get a hundo back, I don't recall if he made the promise that I or someone else would NOT do it ;)

Of course, we don't know where the money is? Who did Paypal give the money to since it was "stopped".... somebody has to have it, and if they refund to pooky, then he would owe the seller $100....

It was my understanding that a Paypal "gift" cannot be stopped.
I've never checked but there probably isn't a refund option available on a gift payment through Paypal.
Dex the so-called seller may of had to just gift the money back to pook.

What I am finding weird & creepy is these opportunists from the social media world
finding out about AZ, and pulling these nickel & dime scams on good people.

Hehehe I never said every other person on the world is innocent. I just was discussing the case at hand. My opinion was stated. Others chimed in. The general public supports Pook and what not. I'm not on sides. Just an observer that wanted to share my opinion

Oh, I did not know "gift" could not be disputed.... good to know.

So, then seller has the money, kicked back a hundo to pooky, and kept $60 for a "service charge" of some kind. I think we need his photo to be leaked ;)

It's been posted by pookster in the FS forum under the original thread which is for a lower level OB cue.

Exactly there is no refund button when you gift paypal someone and he did gift me back $100 and paypal told,me that there's nothing they can if you ever gift paypal someone if they respond back within 10 days...if not then you'll get that money but only if there's no respond from other side
