Omega busts another thief at BCA

Moose Lodge

From the website it looks like he was one of their better players.

Also, At least Joe Smith from Moose Lodge has it right. His comments on the blog.

"Joe Smith - I'm surprised that Moose Lodge 2 is still in this since Rigo Morales was banned from the tournament floor for getting caught stealing a McDermott cue from the Omega Billiards booth Wednesday night just before their 7pm match. After Rigo admits to it, the rest of his team has the audacity to get pissed off at Omega for wanting to press charges. It seems as if Rigo and ALL of his teammates have quite a bit of growing up to do. Hopefully he'll learn from his mistakes."

Excellent Job and awesome you stepped up for the vendor!! I noticed a few sponsors that were shown on the league home page. I still think the league operator could set an example to the individual. I'm sure the Rio has it all on tape. If this person was willing to steal out of a booth, am sure he would be willing to steal from another player as well.

my comment to their facebook blog:

if it's true that Moose Lodge 2 member Rigo Morales is an admitted cue thief, you should also ban him from playing in your league. #winningisnteverything

He should also be banned from AZ Billiards, and the entire moose community.
That's all we need is a fully enabled cue thief creeping around the wanted/for sale forum.

This reminds me of a few years ago when I was in Vegas for an APA event and somebody walked off with my sunglasses when I was playing a match. My teammate and I both had the same reaction: "What do you expect with a bunch of pool players hanging around?" Kinda sad since I love playing the game so much, but our expectations of the character of the average pool player aren't very high. I'm sure it's really the outliers giving us a bad rap since most people I play with aren't that way, but you know there's going to be at least one...

i don't do Facebook, so i can't see the sponsors, but if i could (or yáll would send me a link), i'd be calling & informing them.

good point! although probably not doable w/ the mods, till yáll weed him out - which is what yáll excel at.... ;) this thread, and the OP's actions, are a prime example of what's GOOD about AZ. and POOL.
yáll are a force nationwide, with lots, and lots, and lots of resources & you take care of your own - from the tourney, to the vendor, to the pool hall, to the players.

cheers! (i need an applicable emoticon)

I feel insulted that no one has tried to steal any of our cases. :-)

Glad they caught the guy.

I can help you with that if you would like, I can look for you at a cue show or tournament and walk off with one or a couple. Can you make a custom for me that I could try to take?:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

The most comical part was when one of his teammates said "we'll pay for the cue...he's young and it was an honest mistake." I about fell over when I heard that.

Exactly, it was a "honest" "theft", maybe even an "accident"....

When will they start teaching ethics in the home again....

His "honest" mistake was openly walking back to his team to crow about his new "acquisition", instead of slipping into his case and getting the hell out of there...

I've had a piece of trash steal an $1,100 Joss from me...I was sick about it for a LONG time, and now take my cues with me to the restroom or the smoking area. A guy could just pinch your cue when your back is turned, non-challantly break it down and put it in his case and NO ONE would notice. He wouldn't even have to leave. This idiot (thank goodness) was stupid enough to walk across the room and show it off. If it hadn't been for the OP seeing it and following him, he'd have gotten away with even that. He needs a lifetime ban, and the team should get a one season ban. There's got to be consequences for crap like this, or it will happen again and again.

If I was a thief at this event, you can bet you'd be one of my first stops! As soon as my wife takes the lien off my money (just bought a cue), I'll be ordering something...;)

moose lodge team 2 bad: :angry::nono:

water buffalo team 1 good:  :)

A little restraint on hammering the lodge. It barely happened. Lets give them a chance to react before we black ball them. .02

I'm sure he's guilty if he admitted it.

I had fully expected him to say that he brought it over to his team to see if they thought he should buy it. If he had said that, it would have at least been plausible, and really hard to get a conviction on.

But I guess this guy is as dumb as he is evil...

Come on guys why all the hate? It was just a Moose Lodge initiation.

"I stole de Q, now do I get in your club?" signed Rigo the ***** word for female dog!

I just tried to post the following messaqge on Santa Barbara Pool Leagues Facebook, however, looks like I'm no longer allowed to post on there.

It appears as though you have removed a few comments posted here about Moose Lodge 2 member Rigo Morales who was caught stealing a cue from the Omega booth at BCA Vegas. He was taken into custody and banned from the tourney and he admitted his bad deed. In fact, some of his team mates tried to pay for the cue then became obnoxious with Omega, the victim, and one team member was reported to be telling customers not to buy from them. Please don't remove or block this info here. Sweeping it under the rug is not how to deal with such behavior. Accountability, transparency, and honesty are the way to go. Best of luck to your other teams who are there competing. #winningisnteverything

oh well, heads in sand there, I suppose.

best,
