Brent Hartman (BHQ) was gracious enough to let me come over to his house today and pick out some wood for him to build me a cue with. He also let me hang out with him to watch him in action and ask stupid questions. I sure wish I had his skills (which I don't). Thank you for that Brent.

If you are looking to have a cue built. You can't go wrong with Brent.

The wood is Cocobolo and Curly Maple. I will keep this thread up to date with the cue's progress. However, I don't know when that will be, as I told Brent to take his time and not worry about a due date since I'm in no hurry. I just thought this would be a cool thread for people like myself who love all aspects of cue-building.

good having you over
you never should have told me take my time though:thumbup:
ask arthur mcdonald about that

you got the "bad side" of the coco in your pic
i'll get the good side for ya tomorrow

One thing I don't understand about cuemakers. Why don't they always use great wood. Seems like guitar makers understand it better than cue makers. IMO the very best looking wood is used in musical instruments.

You are off to good start on your cue.

All of the best pieces of wood are cut to size for guitar building, it is harder to find pieces for pool cues, when it comes to wood selection cue makers are on the back of the bus.

You know....

Brent doesn't have "the name" when it comes to cues, and he doesnt have some 5+ year list but what he does have is a better cue than almost anyone. His finish is top tier and his cues join together tighter than any wood to wood joints I've tried or had.

AND he won't ignore you. His customer service is the BEST in the business.

Brent is honestly my favorite cuemaker.
