They let the run continue after the match has been won?

Incidentally, always like watching Stalev play.

Yup, and he continued to 225 (it was actually a 226-ball run). Made this absolutely SICK down-the-rail cut shot (at speed), elevatoring back and forth across the table, landing perfect on the break ball. Sadly, he let his foot off the gas and missed the break ball.

226-ball run for Evgeny Stalev!

Final scores...

... where are the scores?

The 32 brackets are still empty! Why aren't they updated on such an event?! :(

It was a great run to watch on a live stream. Congrats to Evgeny on his new personal high run.

The results are usually updated at the end of the day, instead of as they happen, unfortunately.

I see Shane is playing well and is through to the final 16. Must be outbreaking everyone.

He got a bye, then an unwarranted advance because he's the Golden Boy. Plus he practices with the Break Rak and he gets to use the Magic Rack on his break. And he racks his own.

Freddie <~~~ and his Cuetec extension

AtLarge:

Thank you *very* much for the correction. To be fair to the messenger though, I (we -- the others reporting Evgeny's run?) were going strictly by the score that the commentators (Mikey Fingers and Shaun Wilkie) were keeping. Their final score, shown on the placard graphics at the bottom of the stream screen was "225" (you'll see this when the video is released out on YouTube or what-not). It looks like the commentators got one ball off somewhere.

I (and others reporting Evgeny's run) didn't think to "double check" their math, so shame on me. :o

Sharp eye, and thank you again,
-Sean

classy move by john schmidt to step in and make sure the tournament officials let evgeny continue that run. he clearly wanted to, but it seemed the officials were going to step in and usher them off the table so john could start to practice. he wasn't having any of it and went to racking balls for him. pure class.

Yup. And he outbroke Archer in the round of 16.

Shane broke in 74 in a row, then missed. Johnny ran 11, and then Shane broke in 126 in a row for the win. Must be all that practice with the BreakRak.
