Jaden you may be right! I forgot about PJ. They should be pretty much neck and neck now. With the long bans PJ gets and the short ones JB gets I still predict that JB leaves PJ in the dust in the near future if he hasn't already. He simply has more time on the board to earn bannings.
That is an obvious imposter over on one pocket dot org. I spent several years trying to make PJ comprehend that angle matters. It was only after someone sent me eight or ten year old posts of PJ's with his position exactly the same on all matters that I realized trying to make PJ grasp anything outside of his current understanding was futile.
Next thing you know the hand over on OP will be saying that using different types of english, front hand, back hand, or parallel, will create slightly different angles. That will be the final proof that you can call him Ray or you can call him Jay, but you can't call him Mr. Johnson!

PJ (over on OP.org) seems to be saying the same stuff posted on Dr. Dave's website, and I always considered PJ to be a secondary Dr. Dave on this forum.
In any case, I don't mind JB, PJ, or Lou. I think all 3 of them provide pretty good substance to the forum at times. Of course, all 3 of them can also be pretty annoying at times.
The biggest problem is that in their eyes, they are NEVER wrong.
One thing that is certain is that if Lou was truly banned for posting for a banned member, then John can never again play the "mods hate me" card. Not after his arch nemesis gets banned for something so trivial.

Aside from that, when john was banned his wife's account all of a sudden got very active with a new tone, his long lost brother appeared, his business manager, his dog, his cat, his parakeet, I think even some of the mice and rats at his place opened accounts . . . Then he even openly admitted he was using some of these accounts with no action. Banned users sneaking back under new names is normally a major offense here.
Pretty sure they cooked the books on Lou but their books, they can cook them any way they want to including over easy!

People in my household and even the pets get very tired of hearing about AZB when I am banned. They signed up to see what all the stress is about....then they figure out that it's all silly and don't hang around
I guess you have to consider something that has probably not crossed your mind...perhaps the people who own this forum have conversations with people outside the purview of this forum that don't include your opinion of how the forum should be run.
What I don't understand....is how folks like you get away with harassing people like me. You are like a speeder complaining about other speeders.
This whole thread is an example of the harassment. Is it pool related? No, not at all. Does it attack another member? Absolutely.
So why does it exist? Why is it in the main forum?
Well, easy, for the same EXACT reason that my parakeet can post when I am banned, THE FORUM OWNERS ALLOW IT.
This is not a democracy, you don't get to vote on how the forum runs. Neither do I. I get to make suggestions, I get to rant, I get banned when I push it too far. Sometimes for overtly breaking a rule and sometimes just for being a pain-in-the-ass. Live with it, it's NOT YOUR FORUM. You don't own it. Mike Howerton and Jerry Forsyth own it.
So whine, complain, attack, harass, denigrate, defame, do everything you want and be happy when you don't get chastised or banned for actually breaking rules. Just break them as you wish too and know that sometimes you will get called on it and sometimes you won't. If, like me you are a vocal PITA, then you are more likely to get burned and if you are not a PITA then you are more likely to get away with it.
That's the reality of AZB and it isn't going to change until Mike and Jerry decide to make a change. It isn't high on their priority list so you might want to save your whining for something more important.
Like what? Like me being called a pedophile by insinuation? Stuff like that? Stuff like being told my shop (and presumably all the people in it) would be murdered if the antagonistic member had the power to push a button and drop a bomb on it? Is that the sort of stuff that disturbed you?
Just curious because I got banned for wishing demise - not what I would consider a bannable offense but if it is then wishing me and all my staff to perish in a bombing should be an equally bannable offense.
The threads are not deleted, they are all there while the legal aspect gets sorted out. Nothing I said was untruthful.

Here is the thing Lou...I didn't even KNOW that Brian made you that offer until we went to dinner. But it didn't surprise me that you guys didn't want to play again.
If you had said yes then Brian would have asked me and I would have said if we can make it an ahead set I would be willing to go again.
And that's what it will be IF we go again. Don't you worry about it, I will show up in St. Louis and put the money on the table and offer to play you. I will camp out on "your" table and wait for your backer to fly out and bet a lot more.
Me and Terry and Dale might end up betting all the money before you and your backer get up the courage to try me again so you might have to wait a bit though.
I don't like when people get treated differently for the same things either and you make a good point. Which leads me to the following question which I have a definite opinion on, but I'm curious to hear yours. Being completely honest, do you feel like you have gotten more leeway than others would have because you are in the billiards industry, and fairly well known and "big" in the industry at that? Or to put it another way, do you think a random Joe Blow nobody would have gotten away with all the same things you have and gotten the same number of "second" chances and breaks and been cut the same slack and treated exactly the same as you have for the same behaviors under the same conditions? A simple yes or no is all that is needed to answer this question. For the record this is not intended to pick on you or try to make a point or anything other than I have been genuinely curious to see if you see it the same way I do and are also willing to be honest about it.
It's not any "trouble". It's simply a trademark dispute that is best not discussed on AZB until AZB is satisfied that they are not going to be embroiled in a lawsuit. Which, they would NOT be from our side of it. We fully agree with AZB that AZB's WFS section should not be used to promote and sell goods under a trademark that does not belong to the seller. When it's sorted out WHO the actual trademark holder is then that company will be able to request that those who aren't authorized be barred from using this venue to sell infringing goods. I think most consumers would be happy to know that the stuff they are buying on AZB are covered as they expect them to be based on the brand displayed.
The problem with a mob mentality on a forum is that the mob often has no grasp of the actual facts and the law. So they play armchair lawyer and use ignorance and false logic to burn people at the stake in a modern witch hunt.
No I don't feel that I have gotten more leeway because I am in the industry. Not at all.
I might have gotten a couple passes because Mike and I are friends. But let's be completely real, people get free passes A LOT on here, for whatever reason.
I also got a long ass ban from Mike, my friend, because I said that AZB allows arguments and suggested that people here LIKE the flamewars even as they say they don't because IF they didn't really like them they would go somewhere where flamewars were not allowed. So there I was banned "for life" (it was an indefinite ban) by my friend because I disrespected his forum in a way he didn't like. I didn't break a rule but I got banned anyway which shows you that no, I don't get free passes just because I am in the industry.
The idea that industry members have some special privileges on AZB is 100% false. In fact because they don't and are not "protected" at all from malicious defamatory attacks is one reason why a lot of the industry people I know will not participate on AZB even though they do read it every day and would like to participate.
I think you made a statement that makes total sense. Simple as 1, 2, 3.

This might be debatable although it seems pretty clear to me. Special privileges is the wrong terminology though. More latitude and less strict punishment would be more appropriate. There is no way any regular Joe would still be getting short term bans as often as you have. They would be long gone, permanently, or at the very least the bans would start being measured in periods of years, not weeks. Name any other person who has been banned as many times as you have without having had a ban that lasted at least a year. There isn't any, nor would there ever be, unless they were in the industry such as yourself.
This one can't even begin to be debated. Those in the industry are most certainly protected from attack all the time, and even in some cases where the industry member clearly was in the wrong or even deserving of it. They don't protect every single time, over every single last thing, but it sure happens a lot none the less. Look at all the locked or removed threads as one example. A big portion are because they were protecting someone in the industry.

I am happy to debate it. Each "ban" is not the same. Each person is not the same. IF you have someone like Pat Johnson who commits forum suicide with the verbal equivalent of telling a mod to screw himself then a ban is going to be more harsh than the ban on a person who occasionally calls an asshole an asshole.
And for that matter why do you actually care? It's not like anyone is affecting your life. If a person gets banned then they are gone for a while then they are back. So what? Why should you CARE how many times a person is banned.
If a person comes back and proceeds to lay waste to the forum with dozen of offensive rule breaking posts then sure, bar them for a longer time. But if it's the occasional terse response to antagonists then calling for the attacked member who went off to be banned for life is just stupid in my opinion.
Absolute hogwash. Industry members have been attacked ruthlessly creating epic long threads that were only FINALLY removed from public view long after the damage had been done. If you call defamation of character with no proof and personal slurs over a period of days and weeks played out in full view of the worldwide audience protective then we will continue to disagree.
Usually it's the incivility and name calling that gets threads removed from view. And this is because the mod INSTEAD of cleaning it up and banning the offenders finds that it's simply easier to lock it and move it from view.
Don't believe me? I can find a dozen threads calling Kamui thieves which are on permanent display. Kamui is one of the largest sponsors in the industry. Yet they have been mercilessly attacked on here as if they are evil villians. The only difference is that typically people aren't getting overly flaming in those threads so they stay up.
