Nice shooting Mike. *VERY* impressive the whole way remaining undefeated.

Mike topped Jeremy Sossei 13 - 6 in the final.

Joey Dupuis took third.

And btw, worth mentioning is that during his match Saturday with Dave Fernandez of New Hampshire, Dave was having breathing problems that seemed to be getting progressively worse. Mike was encouraging Dave to take a break but after a couple attempts he didn't so Mike ended up saying Okay, then I'll take a break for you" and he laid his cue down on the table so his opponent could cool out for a while.

It was said on the stream that this gentleman had a previous heart attack history so it could have been serious.

A very classy move by Mike. This, on top of shooting fantastic all weekend.

Thanks Upstate Al and everyone for this terrific stream.

Great tourney and great pool!
Mike is amazing and Jeremy is not far behind him. Thanks to upstateAL and everyone else who worked their tail off to make this happen.
Thanks guys.

It was a great tourney. The stream was fantastic. Mike played very well and made it look easy most of the time.

It seemed to me that Jeremy and Joe both got a little tired during their match. Mike was on point and ready though and showed it in the finals. Congrats to Jeremy for the second place finish. I wish I could play half the speed of these guys.

Good for Mike. He gets way too much heat on the forum for his intensity. Good to see that he had the self awareness of the situation to help his opponent. Mike is a future US Open champion.

Well done Mike.

Was the match recorded anywhere?

Nick

Congrats to Mike on his win ! He is shooting great I watched parts of three different matches and only saw him miss one ball.

Great pattern racking in the final by Mike. The 8, 9 and 10 ended up in the same place every rack.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone shoot as well as Mike did in his match against Joey.
Mike missed one shot in 9 racks. This was an exhibition of, if you want to win a match, keep your opponent in his/her seat. I think Joey was only at the table twice. Mike was firing shots into the corner pockets and playing great position.

I hope Dave Fernandez gets a check up this week. He sure was having a hard time breathing.

I'm quite sure MD is not the only one who racks balls in a certain manner. Use a neutral racker and this goes away.

Congrats on the win, Mike! And good on you very being aware of your opponents possible health issues, nicely done.

I was at snookers! Everyone here knows I'm not a big fan of Mike, that being said, he astucally said hi to me! I found that almost as amazing as at the end of Mike and joeys match, NOBODY clapped for Mike! I honestly couldn't believe that! Like I said, I don't like Mike much, but even when he won that match, I had my hands ready to give a clap or 2 and was just waiting to join in,,,,,, NOBODY clapped! For the first time in my life, I actually felt a little bad for him!

No doubt he is one of the best shooters in the game,,, but if I were in his shoes, I would be a little heart broken being in my own home room and I got that kind of response!

Anyway, if you read this Mike, awesome shooting! I guess you got a real tough job trying to win some fans over!

Could it be that everyone, including yourself, was mesmerized in what they had just witnessed?

Second best american player without question. Antics aside, he deserves to represent USA in the mosconi.its a shame that he isn't in the mix.

Haha, let the flame war begin. I can name at least like 10 people that pattern rack 10-ball that you'd know. With the 1, 2, 3 on the corners with 10 ball in the middle, there's only but so many damn spots you can put the other 6 balls anyways.

Congrats, Mike. Well deserved win, no doubt. I think he should gain some fans, he's not a bad guy.

Watched many of the matches and Mike was clearly the big stick at the tournament. The rest of the field was playing for second. I was very impressed with some of the great safety play. All the good things said about Mike during this tournament are well deserved!! He is clearly either first or second best player in the US. I would love to see SVB and Mike match up against each other, perhaps at Turning Stone.

Congrats Mike!!!

Al

good shooting, mike. and classy move what he did for his opponent. i gained a lot of respect for him reading that story. the guy is definitely on point in the northeast right now. it'll be interesting to see what he does at the open.

Doubt that after the display of play at the worlds and CSI followed by the performances of Skylar and Justin Mike would be hard pressed to mesmerize them

Very impressed with Mike's play. Enjoyed the stream thanks Al. Did seem that some of the players started running out of gas at the end, a feeling I know only too well.

True, Mike missed only once -- in 10 racks. Joey had no misses.:)

As to Joey's trips to the table -- twice in Game #4, four times in Game #5, and twice in Game #6. You may remember Game #5, where they exchanged intentional fouls with balls tied up by the side pocket, and Joey ended up losing the game on 3 consecutive fouls.

But it was mostly a great B&R display by Mike.
