SVB vs. Jason Shaw race to 100 10ball - Sept 12-13

Make it interesting.... Sub shaw for Mike dechaine.... Shaw doesn't stand a chance...

Shaw is clear underdog but fair play to him for stepping up and playing the match.

Experience required to compete at this level is attained by, well, playin matches - and learning from them.

As much as I agree, this could be the betting dream for picking Shaw.
Why would anyone match these 2 guys in such a long race knowing
almost everyone is going to pick Shane in a long race.
This should be the making of a complete blow-out in the real world
but this is pool where the unexpected is to be expected.
I trust nobody when it comes to pool and money and Shaw may beat the odds
on this one.

you kidding?? shaw robs dechaine, sorry has robbed dechaine a few times

I have seen both of those guys play, the TAR match as well as many tournaments against each other and others. Close up and in person, I actually have both of their phone numbers and do know them pretty well. Both had given lessons to my son.

Jayson is a better pure shooter, even Mike said that he was better than him recently, don't know if he meant that as a joke but I think he meant it.
Mike has a better break and better spin control and is steadier after a mistake or if the other player is up.

If they played, I would pick Mike to win 60% of the time.

if these horses go head to head, neutral table, 10b, rack your own in either alt breaks or winner breaks format, Mike is a favorite.

winner breaks, MD does better, alt breaks, he will still come out on top more often than not.

best,

Wow interesting tot Shane and Jayson supposed to team up scotch doubles for Manny Pacquiao (MP) Cup originally slated for 1 to 5 Sep http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/sports/2014/07/27/pacquiao-join-billiards-tourney-356186

But schedule now extended to include singles- seems now singles played now from 1 to 7 Sep while scotch doubles from 7 to 12 Sep so looks like they are skipping the MP Cup

IMHO, Shane should win this comfortably. Nick Eko lost 21-50 in race to 50 few months ago . If we extrapolate that in race to 100 score would be 42-100 , a win by margin of 58 racks
Jayson (a former World Englsih 8ball/blackball champ) is probably at least a tip above Nick Eko level. That may translate to smaller loss but my guess is Shane will win by at least 20 racks. Win by 20 racks in race to 100 is like win by only 5 racks in race to 25.
So those taking Shane giving up 10 to 15 racks is getting a good deal

I agree MD has a better break I mean his i think is only bettered by SVB. However shaw has a good ten ball break also. when svb gave corey the 5,6 at hardtimes, he was saying that shaw offered him the 7 ball playing 10 ball and he declined because shaw breaks too good. So i still think svb is clear favorite obviously but shaw if can get into the lead can keep it close. I agree with others that shaw biggest problem is his mental issue i mean it basically cost him the US open.

Either way he will benefit a lot from the game. I was for sure that shaw has ousted MD more and for the cash especially as in the TAR match. But to be fair MD has been on great form this year so it would be a great re-match.
