http://www.sunstar.com.ph/davao/sports/2014/09/10/pacquiao-alcano-pair-ekes-out-debut-win-364831

So total 51 pairs signed up
1st day 40 pairs played and 20 go thru to last 32
So i am guessing that 11 pairs get bye in first round. Probably these top seeded pairs got bye in first round
Efren “Bata” Reyes - “Django” Bustamante
Ralf Souquet - Thorsten Hohman
Darren Appleton- Karl Boyles
Mikka Immonnen= Rodney Morris

Tomorrow should be round of 32 meaning 1 lucky pair will get a bye in last 32
:D

Orcullo, Biado , Pagulayan are out

Pagulayan / Valle lost to Hohmann / Morra 4-9

I believe some international and world championships pool where in SM Mall in Manila.

I think that makes my point. World Championships in a shopping mall? Seriously? Do they play their soccer championships in the mall parking lot or in a stadium of some kind? Seems to me the immense popularity of pool in that country is exaggerated quite a bit. I guess the shoppers can take a break and see what's going on.

Yeah, like 10,000 "shoppers"...lol. Try finding that kind of crowd at a pool event in this country...good luck.

I can't believe Dennis Orcullo and Carlo Biado lost to a couple of 14 year olds, and Centeno (Chezka,) is a girl!

pool is NOT that big there in a mainstream sense, it's a small hard core following, probably smaller than usa

interestingly, my neck of the woods has tens of thousands of fillipino immigrants, barely any play pool here or even know the game or care, lol

:o This I would like to see. I hope a video will be available soon or even just photos. Never heard of those 2 names before.

 Latest updates. Pacman/Alcano defeats Lee Van Corteza/Jundel Mazon team with a score of 9 to 6!!!

With Biado/Orcullo taken out of the competition by a couple of 14 year olds, it appears that the Taiwanese teams are the favourites to win the $40,000 grand prize. However, I will not count out the team of Reyes/Bustamante yet because they have home court advantage.

De Luna and Ignacio are still capable but it is noteworthy that kiamco Gomez destroyed them a week or two ago on batang tirador's yt video and they too are still alive.
