AZB main forum is no longer 1# in viewers

OH NO... I guess that I'll just quict wasting my time in the mornings on the "Main Forum" since I'm here about billiards and hang out in NPR (or as I would dub it... "NO POINT READING")... listening to a bunch people spreading propaganda about their own personal beliefs and political agendas (both right and left). Oh and right now... 135 in "Main Forum"... 73 in "NPR". To quote an old adage... "They only come out at night".
In my home there is a policy if you want to shoot in my billiard room... NO RELIGION... NO POLITICS... NO SEX ON THE TABLE... YOU'RE EITHER HERE TO SHOOT POOL (NOT YOUR MOUTH) AND HAVE FUN OR GET OUT.

This site is AZB... "The A To Z Of Billiards And Pool" If you think that NPR is such hot zhit... then go hang out on Face(less)book. Thousands of places there to spew biased opinions without merit and actually get people to agree with you.

That doesn't sound like fun to me at all. When I play pool with people for an extended period of time, or a few sessions a month, I like to get on a "personal" level with that person. We talk about religion, politics, and anything else we want to. I want to know what keeps that person going on a daily basis.

You don't have to agree with everyone about personal beliefs to be their friend. I have quite a few friends that have the exact opposite thought process about life than I do. The main thing is that we like to shoot pool together and enjoy each other's company.

The people over in NPR aren't trouble makers. They just like putting their opinion out there and don't mind who reads it. I respect people like that. If you want to keep it to yourself I respect that too. Keep your head down and stroke true.

Master of the Main forum section.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I am not asking anyone to check out the NPR section....
Even if I did, what would be the big deal ;) (Death)

threads.

I not sure what school you went too to be educated to the point you really think you have the right to think for me or anyone else, I never said the NPR was hot shit.
Your twisting my words and the reason I started this thread

What I said was in the last few days NPR has had more viewers then the main forum section. That's it, I didn't ask for your home rules or for you to twist what I said.

I never asked one person to visit the NPR section. and I never gave my personal opinion on about the threads that are in the main forum or in the NPR section in this thread.

All I did was state the fact that the main forum viewer numbers are down and the NPR section is up.

Why anyone needs to be offended over this is thin.........................

I just thought the numbers were odd and honestly it worries me less people are posting in the Main forum section.
Maybe because its always some members have to twist peoples words around to the point its not worth posting anything in fear or some kind of argurement over something they didn't even say.

Pretty much just like what happened here.

What does amaze me is no one is going why is the main forum section loosing viewers.

who cares? political crap will always spark drama. All most of you care about is drama even while you get on a soapbox and say you don't like it. So when there is no drama in the main forum you go looking for it.

Don Henley and every one in media knows it - trainwrecks sell more than puppy news.

But yes, the main forum seems to have slowed way down in terms of topics and responses. Maybe if people could have a lively debate without the personal slurs, the racist comments, the slander and lies then we could have some fun. But some people get off on being mentally sadistic so that's unlikely to happen.

Maybe a period of slowness is good and then some of the really good writers and pros will return.

Crap, I just made an honest effort to spend much more time in Main Forum and NOT in the NPR jungle any more... what the fck did I do ;) No worries, I'm going back to NPR

I lurk and occasionally post in the main forum.....like I said elsewhere, I love pool as much as anyone else around here....but I do not follow the pro's, and I really can't find that much to talk about on the subject.....why talk about it, rack 'em up and lets hit 'em around!! NPR, nothing wrong with a little friendly debate and making some new friends (or enemies, depending on who doesn't like my opinion).

... What does amaze me is no one is going why is the main forum section loosing viewers. ...

Is it really true that the Main Forum is losing users? One forum having more users than another forum at particular points in time does not necessarily mean that the number of users of the latter forum is generally decreasing. Are stats available anywhere (to us) to show the trend in number of users on the Main Forum?

Careful, next thing you know, they will be posting pics of their custom political signs in the Cue & Case Gallery.
Meh, there's more to NPR than politics....but it's an election year, so politics are rampant right now...

My apologies for any misunderstanding in my wording. Often I only have time to write something quick without proofing out how it sounds. My words were more meant to those who choose to hang out in a non-billiard related area of this site and not at you directly. My thoughts when I said "If you think that NPR is such hot zhit" should have been written I guess "if those people think that...".
It was just a generalized statement that was written rather quickly and when I proof read it back to myself... well you have all right to fire back because it did sound like I was attacking you.

I should not try to peek and type when I am in a rush perhaps. No offense meant toward you MMike...

I personally don't ever pay attention to any area "non-billiard" related here because there is a whole web full of everything else out there if that what "someone" (not you're... lol) is looking for. This is the place that I go for billiards only.

Again apologies to you if I seemed like I was attacking you personally... wasn't my intent.

well if it is true that NPR section is much more popular in viewership than Main section that is dangerous. Meaning this forum is becoming more of a general forum rather than a niche billiards forum
Which Google search engine will not like- it will be matter of time before search results will be degraded and given lower ranking on Google. So people who search on Google may not find azbilliards pages as they are ranked lower- that means less visitors to azb
This is what happens when you allow a group to spam a sub section without mercy.

I'm one who spends a good amount of time in the NPR and there's plenty of good content there but its been overrun by a handful of members who use the forum to push the agenda of their favorite political website or blog via copy, paste and link.

That doesn't sound like fun to me at all. When I play pool with people for an extended period of time, or a few sessions a month, I like to get on a "personal" level with that person. Allen... there is much fun at my place when shooting. The down side is that there are people who you can get on a personal level with (and have different or opposing views) and then there are others who are so over the edge with their own opinions (particularly about politics) that they will actually either get confrontational with you or just cop attitudes that don't go away.
I'm betting that you probably have had more discussions with people who you share similar ideas with than not if you haven't experienced what I'm saying. We have two family members who walk in the door trying to start heated debates about their own "partisan" political views (from both sides of the ring). It's not fun... it's not pretty... and it sure as hell disrupts any serious billiard play.
Some people love to argue their opinions a lot... and other people can actually carry on an intelligent debate without hard feelings or changes in friendship. But there is a fine line there and I've seen it first hand. So I choose to take a private path (in my home) on these subjects... and you can't say that you've never seen anyone get heated over a political topic.
Come spend an evening with my family (and my wife's family also) and you would likely set house rules about such subjects.
Like I said... I come here for billiards first, foremost and only. I've ventured all over the site in the many years that I've visited AZB before I became a member. The couple of times that I've visited into NPR I have seen rants that were not quite as intellectual as I would prefer. And it is NPR (non pool related) so I really don't have a need for that forum on a billiard site myself.
Enjoy yourself... however you choose. But when it's game on in my house... it's about pool...not politics, religion, sex, golf... whatever unless it's just casual company. But I do have players over who are so focused on the game that we discuss things away from the pool table... not at it. And that's what I was saying when I stated "In my home there is a policy if you want to shoot in my billiard room... Away from the table you can discuss anything and we do. But when it's game on it's time to pack the chatter bag away and get busy.
Not that I needed to explain myself at all here... but if I haven't made myself clear about how I (and many that I shoot with) separate billiards from the distracting things that are going on around us in life... then whatever.
Maybe I just got caught in the wrong thread on a bad day.

In the last 4 or 5 days The NPR section has been pulling more viewers then the main forum section.
At times the NPR had hundreds of more viewers then the main forum.

Do the math, :killingme: you guys are like watching paint dry

Rule # 1 if there is no rumors going around , then start one :grin-devilish:

The AZB Owner I am sure don't care what the most view forum, or sub forum is. He only cares about total visitors, so the more visitors. The more he can charge for his advertising spots.

Same reason Super Bowl Commercial cost so much per thirty second, or minute spot. It is all about charging to put your message in front of all them people watching the Super Bowl.

Diogenes, If you are posting something you are never in the wrong thread and it's never a bad day when we can get on this home away from home. Thanks for sharing how things operate in your pool room. It sounds like a good place to be.

I am glade we are not upset with each other...................

Once again the decline in viewers in the main forum section does concern me.
AZB doesn't seem as active as it use to be.

I have been kinda bored with the main forum in 2014, compared to 2013.

Not really aware of any reason for that, but it is so.

Edit- its probably that fairladyz guy. Red cloth and won't give me the keys.
