Last time I talked with him he said he and his father bought a lumber mill and he imports much of his exotic woods from the Philippines. Then why is he buying woods from everyone else, including a guy here in Sacramento who Marshall owes a bunch of money to, although Marshall keeps calling him and wanting him to sell him scraps of wood.

I actually wrote about 5 pages on Marshall a few minutes ago but it didn't post for some reason, so, I shortened it up.

I own almost all of the cues Marshall sold in the first 3 or so years he started making cues, so I probably know more about him than almost anyone else.

If anyone wants to know more about Marshall feel free to contact me. Also, if anyone knows the whereabouts of Marshall and/or a contact number that's good, please relay that to me. Thanks. Jack

and all i get back is that garbage , but nothing about the clearcoat advice.

Closer inspection of that post indicates that that the post date is April 1. Given that Marshall Piercy is both a liar and a thief, that must be a joke.

The stealing and lying predated the purported illness. The illness may have been genuine, however. It's impossible to know with a liar.

An "Anthony Terriel" sent me a PM in 2010 stating, "So I found [Piercy's] address and went to his house to find out this guy is in the hospital since Thursday night of last week. I went to his room and found out this guy could die." Of course, all of Anthony T.'s posts stopped in 2010, the same time that Piercy's stopped, so that could be just another lie (i.e., Marshall posing as Anthony).
 
He did post on instagram a lot (last post was in January). I had exchanged some messages with him. (Never purchased ) his name on there is MARSHALLEXCLUSIVE. A lot of pics of wood and cues

Thanks for that - I suspect his illness was most likely a con too based on that info. Wasn't he was selling sharpie art too from his hospital bed to make money?

He came on here and charmed our pants off, ripped people off and contracted a life threatening illness, to disappear into thin air.

There was another cue maker(I won't name him) who started a rumor that he was imminently dying of cancer - of course he had a pile of debt he couldn't pay. Then quite some time later he was spotted in good health, shopping at a mall.

Then there a pool player who reportedly died in Mexico with a pile of gambling debts - who surfaced just fine years later once the heat was off.

Then Sam and Tommy - we've seen our share. Geeze Louise!

Think when I get some time I'm going to throw together a thread of the cons we've seen here.
 
It seems that most but not all of the cons are associated with new cue makers. Some are likely con men just looking for an easy buck and others seem to be folks that just get in over their heads. The former really piss me off the latter follow closely. I have often wondered what became of them. Did they get busted, or just get away with defrauding the victims?
 
I saw this idiot's name on LinkedIn and got me wondering he was still around. This S.O.B. talked me into shipping him some deer antlers to use in his cue making. In return he was going to make a cue for me. He supposed to be making the joint and ferrule from the antlers. I shipped him a huge box of antlers. I even agreed to pay $125 to pay for some of the materials. Thankfully I never sent him any money becaus he kept saying he was almost done with the cue. Avoid this scum at all cost he is definitely a crook....

Piercy sure had a lot of hot air.
Claimed he was some linguist who speaks some 5 languages or so.
Bragged about using only sustainable wood and everyone else is some nature rapist or something .
I'm sorry for his victims .
 
Saw him on Facebook this morning, talking about some jump cue he was shipping to a customer in Florida....at least the pic looked nice :p
 
He recently posted a lot of pics on Facebook with him & satisfied customers with new cues in hand. Looks like a young guy. Dont know any back story. Did also see that pic with the b/j the poster above just mentioned.

Heres a couple of reasons why i decided not to order a cue from him when i was on the verge of after hearing good things about his cue.

Jim pierce told me outloud that HIS cue plays better than SOUTHWEST cue.
Is that possible ? yes because its subjective but im honoured to say i have spoken with real gentlemen curmakers like Keith Josey, Andy Gilbert Jerr R n Rick howard n i have never heard em saying their cues play better than someone else.
That really told me what kinda person Jim Pierce is.

Secondly, when i ask if i could get a similar design inlay which i saw on Richard Harris bluegrass cue, he blew me away n told me it look cheap n he wouldnt do it.

Thirdly he told me His cues get 100% positive feedback when i did a search on Az i realize that wasnt true.

Heres my 2 cents. Go figure.
