Best tip I've played with for years..........

If anyone sees softs go back up on the site could you please pm me? Would love to give these a shot. Currently using Kumui soft, can anyone tell me how a Ki-Tech soft or medium would compare?

Getting my soft installed today and the. Playing in a local tournament right after so I'll post up my initial impressions. I'm leary about switching from a multilayered tip but the reviews have pushed me to give it a try.

Hmmm you must hit publish even if you are just changing inventory levels.... Sorry about that.. Soft and Medium/Hards are now avilable again....

As far as the pics... LOL Thats Palmetto's work... I am not that skilled and my lathe is in pieces just like it was in April when I drug it home LOL

Can anyone confirm the color? The pic looks blue gray but could be black due to the flash makes it look gray. Thanks

It's blue gray... The elastomers are thru the body so I don't deep dye them as the analine dye contains a hardening agent that would react with the elastomers and harden the entire tip... If you have a z2 or OB Pro it will be even less blue.....

When will the Med-Soft be available? The soft grabs the ball to much for me. I have been using a Med. for over a month, really like it...want to try a med-soft though...

Basically soft tips are the hardest end of the spectrum to make consistent... I have over a dozen failed medium/soft runs and am zeroing in... I would expect to see them in November along with the SOLID break tip... I should have some down time after the Open and Before the 8ball Make it Happen event and already have my notes for the next runs on both which have been getting closer with MOST but not all test runs...

I'm playing 8 ball and 9 ball with a tiger sniper tip, love it. It is a medium hard tip, makes drawing the cue ball effortless. When i play bank pool i like a harder tip, medium black kamuai.

Interesting for sure... I had a friend of mine years ago who had a shaft for bank pool and a shaft for rotation games... I was too young and green to understand... I now have a rotation choice, a 1-hole choice... Don't play enough banks anymore to have considered it...

I installed a Soft tip over a month ago..had been using Kamuai SS Black tips. I'll never go back. have been playing much more in the last few weeks,,I think it's because of these tips. I'm controlling the cueball like old times and making shots from everywhere again..The soft tip has held it's shape better than the Kamuia tips and I haven't had to touch it now in weeks,,except to clean it up afterwards wiht a paper towel , before the shafts go back in my Fellini case....I can even jump balls with this tip,,the Kamuai tips wouldn't let me do that and be reliable when doing so...The K tips glazed over--and that's something I haven't had to worry about with these new tips--miscues--hadn't had any in sometime now..I have about 5 of the Kamuai tips that I need to get out of here--will ya take them in trade?

Why no shipping to Canada? Would literally cost like $2 more and a minute to fill out a form. I'm interested.

I often struggle when my game starts breaking down. Of course most of us have to blame our equipment.

I agree.
Took a shot the other day and missed the 9 using an 800 dollar cue.
This is a shot I definitely would have made on the 3500 dollar Richard Black.
It's always the equipment.
When I left the house I made the mistake I'd get nothing more than 800 dollar-cue shots for the night.
Will never forget it.

Best Tip in Years

Bought the sample pack--2 soft tips and one medium. Put the soft on my cue last night and let it set until lunch today--shaved it down and hit a few shots--Wow ...moving the cue ball right where I want to and making shots with consistency...Then off ,,back to the job. Took a little time and home relaxing and then back to the table--Yep...these are what I've been hunting for--these tips play like the old Champion tips ,,back when they were really good--will be looking to see how they ware,,but after a few hours of play,,the one on my cue is just like it was when I installed it. I have one of the hand layths to cut the tip--This is one good product and will be looking to sell the couple of SS K tips I have for back up's. Looks Like I'm going off for a 10 pack of these next--going to try the med on my other shaft and get a feel for how that hits before making the desicision on which way to go..
To add--No more layered tips on my cue's from now on--They always glazed over and would give a crazy feel from time to time--I didn't once get that vibe from this new tip
2 cents issued

If what you say is true about playing like the old Champion tips ... my order will be placed soon. I can't wait to test them out.

"As you move up in hardness you willbe trading a litte bit of spin for a little bit of speed."

Can someone explain this in layman's terms???

I have been playing for about a year and a half now, about 10 hours a week. Mostly 8 ball but I have started to play some 9 ball and 10 ball. I am starting to use more English and I am in need of a new tip on the cue I am using and also for a cue I will have made here in the Philippines.

I would prefer not to order half a dozen soft and and half a dozen medium so how does one decide which to go with?

Basically it's a function of energy transfer... As you go up in grade with the Ki-Techs each grade jumps up in COR... Higher COR means you get more speed for a given stroke so you get more cueball travel as such the speed/spin ratio is going to be higher... I always tell people to start at the soft and move up if you are coming up short all the time or it seems like you are always getting too much english.... It's about finding a tip that makes reality match your mind's eye..

Change tips don't try and change what your brain says should be happening.. Granted sometimes we picture things that will never happen regardless of the tip... That's what practice teaches..

This is also why if you have the perfect tip on your cue FOR YOU.. don't buy anyone's tips including mine.... Stick with what works.. but if and when it quits working =D www.outsville.com

We sell more mediums followed by soft... I hardly have anyone move down from medium to soft but have had a bunch move the other way...

this is true. I have a Ki-tech soft on one shaft and had no trouble power drawing the length of the table.
then I put a hard on another shaft and the first time I did a power draw it came back and hit the rail jumped to the next table and traveled the full length of that table.
My first 16 foot power draw.
I take a little off the stroke now with that tip.

LOL funny stuff but you are the perfect person to ask... You used the soft and got plenty of english.. You moved up and are still getting plenty of english... But here is my question... At slow speeds do you not get more spin and use that spin to let the cueball travel the rails instead of lettting the speed off the tip do the work like with the hard?

I say this because with the soft on my 1pocket shaft I crawl the ball into places I cannot get into with the hard... For me the angles are different to get to the same spot on the table using the different tips because of the higher speed to spin ratio on the hard.....

So for a C player who is beginning to use English is it better to use the soft and then move to a medium or start with a medium?
