Players not being paid at US Open

a sorry event again

the good: we got to witness top flight pros at the top of their game, competing

the bad: so many participants thinking they would get paid promptly this time
around

the ugly: Behmann's repeat performances of embarrassing alcohol-fueled
speeches at the tournament, and the post-tournament worries
about getting paid, AGAIN......

Could a judgement against the U.S. open LLC (if in fact that is how it is structured) possibly lead to a forced asset liquidation, specifically leading to a forced sale of the US Open itself?

Kept waiting for the haha just kidding. I think it started as a joke but then in the middle he realized there was no where to go from there. He cant say "just kidding all is well" and he can't say "I'm stiffing you" either.

Well SVB has been through it before and will probably just stay cool and hope for the best. Imagine if Ko had played and won? Things would have to be handled differently I'd think. Wonder if Dennis will pipe up about it?

Could this Hinder US' Attempts to Re-Establish Self as World Leader

Why would any Asian come to US to play in US Open? I'm not sure that WPA points are worth it, if they aren't sure that they can get paid. Sure, a Philippine group will always come, they have deeper ties to US communities & friends. But, non-Philippines Asian players are not going to risk non-payment just for one tournament. And since so many of the top players come from far east, the US Open is going to take a serious hit as being among to most prestigious tournaments if the Asians aren't going to show.

It's probably already too late unless a reputable financial backer steps in, which is unlikely since it appears to be a break-even event at best.

I think he has great exposure if the pool players wanted to pursue it with the district attorney. He has made public statements that could be investigated as financial crimes concerning the bank he named. Who knows what an investigation would find?

If a value could be assigned to it, it might be able to be attached to a judgement if there are no other assets of the corporation.

I have to wonder, after all these years, just how much his drinking is a part of this. I've been three times and Barry was seldom sober any time I saw him.
