90/90 pivot

As I stated earlier, words have meanings. It is the use of words that communication happens.

This brings me to this.......primal arc. What is it?

I googled primal arc and got some interesting results, but nothing to help me understand the meaning of this phrase as used in relation to aiming.

Sometimes it is a good idea to included the definition of words or phrases being used in order not to be misunderstood or to make your meaning as clear as possible.

It is never a good idea to assume that everyone knows the terminology used to express yourself.

This is why some will ask questions in order to understand what was being discussed.

The only way the bridge length does not matter is when the cue is not being pivoted at the bridge, but the whole body including the cue is rotated into position. This is the only way the length of the bridge does not matter.

Hoo-boy, here we go, folks. Everyone, you now need to include a legend, dictionary, and bibliography to your every post that you want duckie to understand.

Afterall, in his eyes, there's no such thing as "spirit of the law" -- it's all letter of the law from here on out. Meanings are only derived from the exact words used -- and not the spirit in which they were intended.

If you're going to try arguing in-depth on a pool forum, try to at least know what the pool terminology means. If you need everything explained to you, such as the recent "half-ball hit", maybe you should take some time to catch up first.

Greg,

Good points all.

Perhaps you've just defined the primal arc.

Best to Y'a,
Rick

Must a hit a nerve.........like I care Banks

You obviously care because you won't shut up about things, even though you've shown a blatant disregard for knowing the definitions of words and phrases as they pertain to pool. The only nerve you've hit is the one with a low tolerance for willful ignorance. :banghead:

How many years have you been arguing about this stuff? 3? 5? 7? Yet, you've recently shown that you still have no idea what some of the common terminology even means! :speechless:

But words have meaning. The problem is not knowing what word to use which leads to misunderstandings.

Such as "The math guys think of the bridge as a rotational pivot (point) versus a fulcrum and thinking of the cue as a lever that rotates about rather than around."

In the math world, a fulcrum is a pivot point.

It if I understand what was described in that post, it is not a pivot but a rotation around a anchor point related to the OB which makes that anchor point a hinge and not a pivot.

Aside from the semantics, you are on the right track.

Duckie...you can't be that dense. I made the post from my cell and it was supposed to say primary, not primal...as in primal instinct, where my fav actress showed her coochy.

That said, if you actually googled that in an attempt to figure out the meaning of the post, you prob spent a lot of your early years on short buses with tinted windows.

lmao!!!!!!

Abed would be proud. Applauding such a platitudinous dramatic response (Community reference.)
You mean like Ducksters over the top dramatic effort to make me look like a retard in his post based of an auto correct?

You guys argue the same BS over the decades which is why I lost interest some time ago. Instead of reading info and putting in tons of experimental time before posting, you choose to put on hip waders and march through a field of bullsh1t in order to make a point on ego and posture.

I've said it a bazillion times here: Lets ALL post lengthy videos of lengthy runs so people can watch everyone play a little so we can see if they have a CLUE of what they mouth off about. Funny and ironic how only a very, very small group of people have.... and 95% of them are the "CTE RETARDS" who guys like you and Duckie tend to knock.

Stone cold fact:
The small group of guys here knocking systems in general have NEVER posted an impressive run on AZB or have NEVER posted video showing they can play a lick. NEVER EVER.

Neil has. Gerry has. Mohrt has. I have.

You haven't. English hasn't. Duckie DEF hasn't.

Let's stop personal attacks, call a time out and let's see who is above an APA 4 around here.

*CRICKETS* and *SPIN* coming....

I thought Duckie's hinge explanation was something that might make more sense than interchanging fulcrum for pivot and about for around.

I know you're trying Dave, but there still has been no cognizant explanation of the pivot. I thought he was making an honest attempt at offering an alternate explanation. Perhaps he wasn't, I don't know. But he got jumped on like the guy who wanted to look behind the curtain in the wizard of OZ.

10 years on and the pivot is sacred and unexplained... why not just admit it is intuitive? Instead of never ever offering a systematic explanation of it.

Well, we know why, but it's sacrosanct.

Dave, I edited this video, watched 110,000 times in 2 x 30 mins sessions. I think you'd agree it requires some decent skills. If you can reproduce all the shots shown in this video in 24 hours, or even get Stan to do so in the same time, $200 goes to your paypal account.

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keznf66dSHE

Colin

EDIT: Now we'll hear some CRICKETS!

Note: Any CTE regulars other than Gerry, who is a total gun, is welcome to this challenge... 24 hours to replicate this video and $200 will be paid to all who complete it.

Edited videos don't count and neither do stitched together flier stroke / trick shots.

How about YOU have 24 hrs to match MY score on YOUR shot test on a 4.5x9 with 4.5" pocketed table.
