Mosconi Cup Unpicked Players Bail Out

Are you drunk? I guess it's 5 o'clock somewhere. ;)

I went because several of the players wanted me to be captain, and they wanted to win. We came down to the last match and almost pulled off the biggest upset in the galaxy.....but alas, it was not meant to be, such is life.

In 1996 I was the captain, player and bodyguard....that was a bit much...LoL

Nice answer, mr pro, start with the name calling when you have nothing else of worth to say. Last time you were captain, you did not play. So, try answering again without the b.s. excuses this time. Try answering the question asked.

You made a claim of third wheel, and got busted by it. According to what YOU said, they aren't part of the team because they aren't playing. Thereby, YOU weren't part of the team because YOU DIDN'T PLAY. So, why did YOU go? Just because you were asked to? They also were asked, but you don't feel that is a good enough reason for them to go, so why should it be a good enough reason for you to go??

Why are you referring to "we" unless you also were part of the team as a non-playing member?

Basically, your "logic" has nothing to stand on. It was great when you did it, but not if they do it. Right......

You always see the glass as half empty, don't you? You say he "belittled them"??? You've got to be kidding me! So, if he just flat out said, sorry guys, you three are out of here, have no use for you, see ya. That wouldn't be belittling them? So, I guess you also see no honor in winning second place in a tournament either? It's all or nothing for you??

They didn't make the team.

Think of it as a romance -
Didn't a girl in high school ever say these words to you:
"I hope we can still be friends"
Did you really want to be friends with the girl that just crushed your heart? or did you show a little pride and dignity?
Would you have gone to Europe with her and her new boyfriend and held her purse?
I'd have stayed home and tried to bang her best friend

on a private jet with all nits and knockers strapped to the roof.

We would definitely rather play than be a captain and being both is challenging. The captain just makes enough to {barely} cover expenses, so it's basically a "freeby".

I was ask to be captain as a "special favor" to one of the players and that's why I went......to help them in any way I could to win. Nothing fancy, they just wanted to have the best chance to win and It was a compliment to be ask by one of the best players in history to be captain. It was fun and memorable, but not repeatable.

Would I be captain again? No (unless the scenario was entirely different)

Would I be a player again? Yes

Would I go to London to be a cheerleader? ....only if accompanied by a super model on a private jet with all nits and knockers strapped to the roof. :groucho:

According to some on here, there is no such thing as a team in pool.

Well reality is, the Mosconi Cup is a team based exhibition. Many were considered, on both sides, but only 5 were chosen per side. Brandon, Jeremy and Oscar didn't make the team.

Let me see if I have this right:

1. I didn't do it for the team, I only did it as a personal favor to one player.
2. Was only interested in the money, and it didn't pay enough to bother to come back if I were ever asked again.
3. Not interested in helping the American team win unless I get to be in the limelight as a player.

Did I cover it all there?

Ok calling Bullshit! A special favor?? they asked you without any encouragement in any way from you?? BS #1
BS #2, Barley enough to cover expenses?? They pay your hotel and travel so there is no expenses except eating and drinking. I believe that the Captain also gets a paycheck for just showing up and more if the team wins. I am going on the low end here but the minimum for the captain is $3,500 It may be double that but I can't remember but it is for sure at least $3,500. There are also some meals paid for so how are you barley covering expenses with $3,500 and not travel or hotel?? You got any habbits that run to that much in 4 days?? Considering you are at the event at least 4 hours each day. I want a freebie like that. Do you make $3,500 every 4 days with no housing or travel at home?? That's all try and explain that.

The worlds definition of what a team is, not Mark Wilson or Matchroom. You cannot change the definition of a term so it fits your plan. Find a different word than team, it has no application in your argument.

So let me see if I got this right: you don't play, you're not a player, don't got any chance to play, you're not on the team. Did I get that right per your definition because if I did there are a lot of guys wearing Super Bowl rings that weren't on the team and shouldn't be wearing rings like: every member of the active roster; the coaching staff; the entire front office and ownership; the cheerleaders; Injured Reserve and practice squad; even some of the traded players.

By some accounts MW picked some players based on their personality. Not to say they aren't good players. Just a better fit for the team. So if you felt you were a better player than someone who got picked. Kinda says MW thinks you have a character flaw. So if your character is in question. Would you want to travel with that person? Think. MD would have traveled with the team? No need to kiss anyone's butt or try to save face. New captain every year. Maybe next year's captain will take the 5 highest ranked players. Not saying it's better but if picks are just random. Who cares?

Talk about tortured logic, lol.

All hail Mark Wilson and his brilliant idea of belittling Oscar, Brandon and Jeremy with their honorable mention titles for a team THEY DIDN'T MAKE.

If they couldn't handle not being selected they shouldn't have agree to participate in the first place.

I really believe the whole thing backfired when the silly job titles and descriptions were announced. They should have just let the other (3) guys tag along. No need to create bullshit titles and make the whole damn thing corny as hell. The other (3) guys should have been able to participate in the background without the silly job descriptions.

Now you're getting it, Nut......

When I worked at the orthopaedic clinic in L.A., the Rams' doctor was also given a nice Ferrari.. just because. But, yes, all of the doctors had rings, too. They weren't even at many of the games either.

Cleary, clearly your thinking is off kilter on this. By your reasoning, Mark Wilson is not playing, so he is free to bail also. Just because you aren't playing, doesn't mean you aren't part of the team!

Understand, once they got picked as one of the eight, THEY MADE THE TEAM! That's why they were given other titles, they were still on the team!

Those weren't "titles", that was humiliation and fcktardery.....
