Talk Crap to Darren Appleton Thread

I have to agree, If you had the chance to meet him face to face would you be so bold. I have meet him and he is really a pretty nice person, and I do admire his skill and talent, So what if he thinks he should be the Captain, He will still give 110%.
Why be a player hater, it only bring this game down, and I would think at your age you would have stopped calling people names , time for some to grow-up.
 
Yeah I think people criticizing this thread are right. Darren doesnt hold up well under pressure and the typing of words by a dozen or so Americans will probably be too much for his gentle soul to handle going into Blackpool. So just take it easy guys, alright. :mad:

To anyone who thinks that this thread is "Classless" it may be depending what your intentions are. If you are wanting to plain insult Daz then its classless but if you are just having some harmless fun then Daz will probably appreciate the humor and may even give you a little back (All in Fun) I know Daz and he has a great sense of humor, I am also from the same part of England as he is and "Nobbling" "Taking the piss" is common place and as long as you don't step over the line can make for some great fun conversations. So I say have fun with this.
 
Exactly. Darren is obviously one of the greatest. But he did dog in final day two years in a row.

I think the OP was just looking for some fun ball busting and didn't intend anything malicious. Daz is one of my favorite players and seems like a great guy, I suspect he won't take it the wrong way. Regardless, if I'm picking any kind of team, Appleton is on it. If the USA team can manage a split with he and Niels, I like their chances of winning.
 
I heard Shane and Daz showed up at the same Halloween party this year...

Shane told Daz that he had brought a change of clothes in the car if Daz wanted to borrow them....


Daz looked at him and asked why... Shane said "well I thought you could put on my clothes and that way you could dress up as a real pool player this year...."

Darren replied...If my memory serves me right I beat Wu Chia Ching for the WPA World 10 ball Championship in the Philippines in 2008.

Isn't 10 ball your big game?

If you really want to get some people ripping on Daz, just get him to bad mouth Oscar. Then it's on pal.....
 
Daz

I was at the American 14.1 Tournament in Midlothian, VA a few months ago (Daz beat Karen Corr in the Finals). Anyway, I was outside having a smoke as was Daz and he commented that he thought Niels Feijen was the best player / playing the best pool in the world at that time. Daz wouldn't have said that if he didn't respect Niel's and his game!

Daz was MC MVP not long ago and he made some super amazing shots under incredible pressure. Anyone who watched that probably wants Daz shooting for him every time. I'd pick him.

Thank you for your comments and directions on how to edit a post. I see you are very qualified on how to edit the trollish comments you make, i.e., you completely removed your venom directed at me. I pasted it below for the record. I may be a douche like you called me but at least I'm not afraid of my own shadow.

This thread was meant to be a light rousing / ribbing at DAZ all in fun. DAZ does the same stuff joking around on FB so I thought it would be fun to joke around with him a little. I think it's hilarious.

Based on the comments some of you got my humor and some did not.

For those that did not you need to lighten up and enjoy a good joke every once in a while. And I highly doubt my post would cause him to leave AZB.

Everyone knows DAZ is one of the greatest players today.

For all the rest of you, thank you for your support.

This is exactly why the pros do not come here.. Schmidt is already aware of what the brain trust here thinks about his selection.. Color him gone and sure go ahead and color Darren with the same crayon.....

Firstly, daz has already won the most important lottery in life, which is to be born british. Being born british means being born with a sense of humour. I am constantly staggered at how few american posters have a sense of humour, which is in stark contrast to how they act in real life in my experience...

Anyway, daz can take care of himself and is highly unlikely to be weeping into his tetleys over a bit of banter. But to address the issue, i wouldnt pick daz solely on the issue of his break, which is his achilles heal. Maybe it is a legacy of his economical cue action and english 8 ball past, but he cannot monster the break like others can. He needs to concentrate on precision and timing.

Not that i can break, like. :sorry:
