I had to say something regarding the scooter contraversy. I have known Scooter since he was 14 or so and been on the road with him quite a bit so heres what you guys dont know:
Concerning the theft charge basically the guys that were staking him were on this hustle and he took advantage of the situation. He was in the car and was guilty through association, if the guys with him didnt have their criminal tools in the car there wouldve been no charge on scooter. Am I condoning his bad judgement? Of course not. Is he a thief? Absolutley not. Ive never seen him steal a quarter (other than on a pool table lol) He's a pool hustler thats where all of his money comes from and a really good guy to be around. He's always treated everyone of his friends very well and helps more pool players and other people than 99% of the folks I know. He rented a room at the derby last year just for pool players that were down and out to stay in, how many guys do that in the pool world? He did make a mistake and he definitly wont put himself in that situation again I'd bet a lot on that.
So thats the real story from someone that knows, not pool myths that circulate without proper info. I thought I ought to put this out since he isnt here to defend himself.
That being said this is a very good oppurtunity for pool and he is the right guy for this, I always thought I was a good talker until I seen him, hes got a way about him that people are drawn to. This is going to be a good thing folks embrace it because its exactly what pool needs.
