OB Cues are the official cues of the 2014 Men's Challenge of Champions which airs for the first time this Sunday, January 4th, from 5-8pm EST on ESPN2 in HD.
The 1st Semi-final at 5:00pm EST will feature Darren Appleton vs. Shane Van Boening and the 2nd Semi-final at 6:00pm EST will feature Dennis Orcollo vs. Thorsten Hohmann. The Final will then be shown at 7:00pm EST.
Please watch (or record) this event on Sunday and also try to encourage as many of your friends as you can to watch. We will continue to sponsor pool on TV as long as we continue to have the support of you, the fans!
Also, I respectfully ask that if you already know the result, please do not post it in this thread as it will ruin it for those that plan to watch on Sunday that don't know the outcome.
Comcast ESPN2 is World 9 Ball Women's Championship. Not Men's.
Lol it says world 9 ball championship instead of Challenge of Champions.
Sorry for the huge picture, didn't feel like going through the trouble of resizing.

Yeah, mine says that, too. But maybe it's really the men's Challenge of Champions, and the program listing is just further evidence of TV's regard for pool. We'll see.
Does anyone else feel like Darren has Shane's number or that Darren is in Shane's head? The reason I ask is because Darren won all of the sets that they played against each other in the Mosconi Cup and today (not really today, but it's being shown on TV today) Shane missed a very makeable 8 ball in the International Challenge of Champions that would have won him the match.
I honestly have been watching Darren extremely close this last half year, and sat table side at the accu stats eight ball tournament. Darren has an extremely pressure resistant stroke, it's short and compact and very effective. Shane has a stroke that includes fundamentals which although good, can succumb to pressure situations. This is clear in the mosconi cup matches and was extremely clear in that tie breaker set on espn.
Couple that with what Darren said about his metal game being the strongest during the interview, and you have an edge over the greatest player of the last few years in Shane.
Excellent commentary by Ewa and Lon, plus some good camera work. I also liked the interviews they did with each player. I'm not fond of the format but at least they are showing some top notch pool on TV. Too bad we don't have more shows like this.![]()
