Jenn Barretta Pro player... REALLY?

Cleary your talking to a brick wall with most on here. It sucks to fade when people degrade your friends when they really have no clue. When JHall got picked for the Mosconi cup I had to read all the remarks about how he can't play 9 ball, he isn't in the European's league, blah blah. After the cup it's all Jhall played the best he deserves to be on next year team. They were talking before they even had a clue how he played.

I've seen Jen play for years, she is a solid player, and what's funny is they think Rob Hart is an average league player. They don't know that he competes in all the big events and plays all games pretty good. It's hard to come in the main forum sometimes and listen to some of this crap.

Hey Scotty, when you comin down to visit, JD was asking where you were the other day.

Women are Multi Taskers.
That's the main reason they are so slow, When they learn to shorten their thought process, things could change for their game. Internally they are making Gilbert Gottfried faces

There are other areas of the game they seem to not work on, or are even aware of. I believe they are not aware of them, not so much the work that is missing.

Many women lack true stroke technique and a few key ingredients that are needed to reach a higher level.

As for Jennifer
She works hard, conducts herself with class and respect, what more can you ask for in any person, especially when it comes to the game of pool, which is surrounded by a lot of crap.

Is she lacking in a few areas? Yes she is, so are 95% of pool players. If she added a few things and got rid of a few she could jump to another level for sure, seems she has the discipline.

Men should conduct themselves half as good as the women, if they carried themselves half well as Jennifer( And the other Women) you may not be reading how much pool needs to change

Brittany Bryant is playing on the stream now. Can't wait for the thread about how bad she is by an apa 4.

CJ,you and Viv are 2 of my favorite players to watch in Texas. You have stated several times on here that you and Viv gambled.I am interested in what game you played ,what was the spot and what was the outcome. If it is a private matter,I understand , no problem. Just curious.

So Jester can say she sucks but I can't say Jester sucks... sounds legit. He's entitled to his opinion and I'm entitled to say his opinion sucks. And before you respond... I know I'm fat.

I've made my point already. I didn't insult you, so I'm not sure why you want to be a victim?

I agree with this.

Jenn is a very smart "B+" player. She plays 9 ball like some play 1 hole. She plays more safes than any other player. She never takes on a low % shot unless it's the 7, 8, 9 and she has no place to hide. Her table is always the last table done in each round she plays in. I never could stand players that played like her, and avoided playing them. I can't stand slow play. Only way to beat her is run packages or play her game and out safe her. Like I said, she's smart. Johnnyt

I watched her and Hunter Lombardo play in 2013 I think or early 2014 at I forget what it's called, it's in downtown manhatten.

Hunter was coaching her and asking her about certain shots before she shot them. She struck me as very knowledgeable and above average ability. She chose the correct shots percentage wise (and could explain WHY they were the correct shot) and was successful at executing them the majority of the time.

I think the issue is that the term “Pro Player” has different meanings. To some it’s about income and to others contribution to the sport (the term Ambassador of Our Sport gets used often) and to others it’s a skill level (or their playing speed). I know that I struggle with this. When I see that someone is a “Pro Player” and they play at a B players speed (and I don’t think there is or should be a curve due to sex, age, religion, handi capable etc.) I don’t always get it.

I have read in this thread people state JB is anywhere from a B to a A Player. But as a female, that is good enough to play in the WPBA which does make her a Pro Player.

Maybe it’s time that we (AZBILLIARDS community) come up with and vote on real guide lines for the skill levels (player abilities) from D – World beating Pro (leaving out the men women age thing)…

If it was that easy, there wouldn't be a question.

If it WERE that easy to determine skill level, then there wouldn't be a question about it.

The truth is that the majority of even serious players, AREN'T full time players, and the better players aren't necessarily BETTER players but are rather, better players more consistently and under pressure.

When you're talking about skill level in pool, there are MANY different possible things you're talking about.

I know people that would be considered A level players that either A) can't runout consistently or B) Choose not to because they know their limitations.

They choose the right shots for THEM consistently though and can beat players with more skill than them.

The best players in the world aren't necessarily more skillful than other players, but they are at that skill level at a much higher percentage of the time they play.

The conditions also vary substantially as to when players are consistently playing at a higher skill level.

How often have people said, "yeah he may not have a lot of tournament wins but match up with him and see how you do"?

Some people just can't play to their skill level under pressure or under certain types of pressure, that doesn't change their skill level, but it sure changes people's perception of their skill level.

Exaclty right, there is the "pro" tag that people like to use themselves, and the "he/she plays like a pro" that other people say. The latter is what matters to how you actually play vs how you play within your own group. Hate to say it, but saying "you play good for a girl" actually does make sense in a lot of situations, while it may be a bit insulting to some. Otherwise they would not make womens tee marks on golf courses or womens basketballs that are smaller so it's easier to make the shots or any other sport items made for women.

I have seen with my own eyes a "Pro" woman player enter a tournament as a B player and was allowed in with no arguments. So there are "pros" and there are pros.
