Jenn Barretta Pro player... REALLY?

I could be wrong, but I believe a woman is considered a pro if she is the top 35 or so in the WPBA rankings. Jennifer Barretta was 10th in 2014.

Since this whole thread is ridiculous to start with, there is no point really in pointing out that Jenn plays great, probably is a "A" player, is smokin hot, seems very nice the few times I've talked to her, and in general is a great asset for the game.

What is way more interesting is finding out who the non-sandbagging APA 5 is that can beat her. (Since it was mid level league play). I really want to see that match lol.

All I can say after watching women like her and Emily play in person is they should be happy that there is no qualification to be a pro in this country. They get the sponsors because they're beautiful and they carry themselves in a professional manor but when I've seen either one play at the expo you know that they don't have a prayer in beating the likes of Allison fisher, kelly fisher or Karen Corr , In fact watching the women play the last few years at the expo I think the same thing.. you might as well give the first place trophy to Allison and let everyone else play for 2nd. lol . I'm amazed by the drop off in talent after those 3 women. You don't have to be a pro yourself to watch someone play and realize how good they are..just knowledge of the game. To there credit it seems they both work hard so maybe they catch up after a while. Kudos to jennifer though for playing in the mens tournament at turning stone. That's only going to pay dividends down the road.

Go ahead and flame away..I know it's what you keyboard warriors love to do. lol It's just the observation I've come away with every time I've seen these women play.

Jeanette is also another one that bets her own money and plays awesome

Vivian Villarreal plays close to Allison, and has beaten her many times in high dollar matches. Vivian will gamble more than the other women, and is not hesitant to bet $500-$1000 a game. I played here twice last year, both times for $5000.

Jeanette is also another one that bets her own money and plays awesome. She's ran as many as 8 racks in a row for $2000 a game and she put up half herself. Vivian lost $60,000+ to Jeanette in one encounter.

how did you do?? what was the game /race???....:D
only asking because if she played you or you played her 2 times i can only assume (you know what happens when you do that) that you lost the first one and wanted revenge or she lost the first one but thought it was close and she could win
edited to add
someone got a spot or better spot for the rematch

How long have you been around?
Did you ever have a clue as to how the WPBA qualification process worked up until a couple of years ago?

Back in the day, Jenn was playing on the regional qualifying circuit ALL THE TIME, because basically, that was the only way to get on tour and eventually, she WON a qualification package that put her into, if i remember correctly, EVERY WPBA event for that year.

Believe me, she didn't get that cause she is pretty, she didn't get it because she carries herself in a certain way she got it cause she worked her ass off for it.

Get a friggin grip already.

Jenn is a very smart "B+" player. She plays 9 ball like some play 1 hole. She plays more safes than any other player. She never takes on a low % shot unless it's the 7, 8, 9 and she has no place to hide. Her table is always the last table done in each round she plays in. I never could stand players that played like her, and avoided playing them. I can't stand slow play. Only way to beat her is run packages or play her game and out safe her. Like I said, she's smart. She is a pro, I'm sick of all you pretentious assholes. I'm a dealer for Schon, Jacoby, Viking, and Pechauer. If you want a quote let me know.
What have you done to make this game more popular; the most of you just *****.
No peanut gallery response? Your the same guy that appreciates a sharp inlay over a floating point. If it isn't full splice it's not. One cue builder I want to own -r-

Agree 100%.

Years ago, and I think CJ may have been involved, stating that he would take a woman over any men players. Its silly, as dominating as Allison Fisher was, there are plenty of men that would regularly pound her.

Jen is great for the sport, as well as Jeanette and several others, but watching women pool, to me, is like "A" minor league baseball and "PRO" baseball. I am speaking of 9 or 10 ball.

CJ constantly speaks about how terrible a game one pocket is. But, because of the break is removed, it makes me think if there is a game that women should be able to compete on a equal level to men, it would be one pocket.

I watched Jeanette Lee play one pocket at DCC, and it was terrible. But on the other had, I didn't see many of the other professional women step up to the plate and play. Kudos to Jeanette for having "the balls" to compete.

I went to several women's events and watched them. The thing that pi$$ed me off was when he announced the women players as "The greatest players in the world!"

If anyone wants to impress me, come to DCC, and compete in the open class there, women or men. IMO, again while I admire the women that have "the guts, balls, whatever" to actually do it (without a spot), they haven't faired very well.

Being born on 1968 makes Jennifer Baretta 47 this year. Maybe she'll play on the Senior's Tour.

Yep, Sarah did good. She is a friend of mine we text each other often.

But, finishing 20th, and finishing in the top 3 or so, is a world of difference.

Ken

And do you really think that your "friend" would appreciate you basically saying that despite her efforts, her finish sucked cause it wasn't top 3?
How many worldbeaters didn't make top 20?

I didn't say her finish sucked.

I said that there is a world of difference between a player finishing in the top 20 and finishing in the top 3.

I typed slow, so you would be able to understand....;)

My point is that women players are a world away from men players.

I would say very few "world beaters" didn't make the top 20. If they didn't make the top 20, then they really weren't "world beaters"...
