Cuebuilders that worked with Pete Tascarella

Can anyone tell me what other cuebuilders may have worked with Pete, aside from his son? I'm looking to have a plane jane butt made to fit his shafts and thought I would work with someone who was familiar with his cues. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Sometimes people write in code or what I like to term hieroglyphics. I feel that someone at times needs to decipher these coded messages so that everyone can understand them and the requirements of our fellow AZers. So with that in mind, here is my interpretation.

Interpretation:
I can't afford to have Pete build what I need so is there anyone out there who can do what he does for 1/2 the price?

Please take this in the manner in which it was written.

:D

Tascarella

Joe said well, could not be any closer to the truth! If you want a tascarella than buy a tascarella. Thank god someone had the nuts to say it.

Joe, take a leap!

Hey Joe, please allow me to interpret your post:
"I'm an arrogant @$$hole and don't spend enough time building cues, so I'd rather spew my vitriol on someone seeking assistance." Take a leap. If you don't like my post, keep your mouth shut.

I have a Tasc, but I'm looking for a butt that can be built because I don't want my Tasc stolen or damaged in a bar. I know crazy, huh?

Oh a tough guy! nuck, nuck, nuck.

Must have hit a sore spot. When you put yourself out there with requests such as you did, you’ll get criticism. The truth is you‘re looking to build something like a Tascarella with all his skill but without the price.

Here's a suggestion that you asked for:
Anyone can build you a butt to match your Tascarella shafts and that’s all you had to ask for.

Joe is right... The answer to your question is none. There are many competent makers on here that can build a solid but with the joint and pin needed to match your shaft... Just send them the shafts....If your shafts are 5/16 14 thread piloted, be sure to tell the maker you want a nice compression fit joint... If he doesn't know what a compression fit joint is...Find a maker who does....

I was asking for guidance.....

I was asking for guidance, not criticism or "interpretation." And if all you have to say is "anyone can build you a butt...." then just move on; you haven't contributed anything more than vitriol and sarcasm.

There are clearly some builders who are more skilled than others or are familiar with others build style and process. I was looking for any builders with a connection to Pete. If know one knows of any, that's fine. I'm in Dallas and can speak to Vigus, Klein, or Nemic. Before doing so, I wanted to know what other options I had. It's ridiculous that I even have to provide a justification like this simply because you made an error in judgment.

I gave you guidance and good advise... You have makers right by you. Larry, Steve etc.... Again there are MANY that can do as you ask. Just follow my tip and you'll be golden.. Good luck

Just play with the cue. You can refinish it to perfect every five or ten years or when it moves you. No big deal.

Welcome to AZB. If they thought that you were a young wealthy guy with a new affinity for pool cues, they'd all be tripping over themselves to help you. But if they think you're a cheap brokester trying to get out of having to spend a lot of money, now you're gator bait. It really is ironic.

If he was a "young wealthy guy with a new affinity for pool cues" he would go straight to Pete.. The fact is he wants someone with less wait time and less $ who builds a similar style as PT. I gave him advise to help him. I'm guessing you offered to build him the butt then? Can't go wrong there....

RAMIII if qbuilder is in your price range and you want a custom and he will build one for you, definitely go that route, If you decide you want a production cue or a custom Jacoby, let me know and I will help you out. THx, Tom

What is it with the assumptions?

Come on guys, this is silly. I'm not made of money, but I also just don't want to wait more than a year for just a simple butt.

Eric hasn't offered to build me a butt. He's already building me a cue and I know he uses a particular pin that Pete does not.

All these assumptions and a simple "no one else has worked with Pete; you'll need to find someone else" will be fine. Skins you PMd me some options, thank you for that.

I came here looking for some guidance and just ended up getting criticized as a result.

You don't get to choose how people will respond to your post and I did it 'tongue in cheek' but you took offense to a joke. Contrary to popular belief, building a cue is not rocket science. Anyone with a name and I'm sure you know who they are, can build you a butt. I'm sure you knew that since not everyone buys or owns a Tascarella. Only those 'in the know' buy or own a Tascarella. So, with you being the above average bear, I'm sure you know who could do the job but you insisted on asking here for someone who would build you a bargain basement butt with the qualities of a Tascarella. If you want Tascarella style quality, then pay for it because anyone who is anyone is not going to do it for a bargain basement price (if they'll do it at all). You get what you pay for. But I'm sure you know all that.

If you're afraid to play with the Tascarella, then why did you buy one! Are you a 'cue collector' who can't wear their check book around their neck. :D

More niceties eh Joe?

You're a dolt. I asked because it makes sense to reach out to those who know Pete's style and may be able to incorporate some of his techniques into the butt, much like Frey and Scruggs. Clearly it's not unusual for there to be a lineage that connects some cue builders, which led to my question. It's not unreasonable to worry that a Tasc may get damaged or stolen in a bar. I frequently play in local tournaments and don't want my cue to walk off--crazy, right?

You brought in all the assumptions of my intentions based on your "interpretation." And you continue to do so based upon "bargain basement," or "check book around their neck."

Stay off this thread. You've said your peace. You have nothing else to add other than insults. Everyone gets it. Go cast your insults in the many other threads in this section.

Why do you find the need to name call? You're the one casting insults. You don't like the truth, you're entire post was adolescent and I replied as I saw fit. You'd don't like it, move on and find yourself a cue maker who will deal with you and build you a Tascarella style butt. Like I said, anyone can build it and you know it. I guess you like seeing your name up in lights.

Rudeness Begets Rudeness

Rudeness begets Rudeness. Glad you gave us the "truth" this time, here I thought you were holding back....
Yeah sure Joe, anyone can build a quality butt. It's too crazy to think that someone else might have worked with Pete. Sheer brilliance
