I said playing banks on a snooker table. I'd let him get back to even with snooker though.

I'm curious, how would you play banks on a snooker table, and by snooker table do you mean a 5*10 or 6*12? The reason why I'm asking is that a true English snooker table banks funny with american size balls as the rails are too low. I've heard the american snooker tables are made for larger ball sizes, is that true?

I guess you could play banks with reds only, or a smaller american style ball set on a 6*12 but that would be a very specialized game.

6x12. Not my first rodeo. Colors don't matter, just the ball count.

You're not even reading my posts!!!

Not at all, did I say that or would you like to start putting words in my mouth and making assumptions on what I meant?

He came into this thread to start a posting jab fest, or are you unable to see that? This thread had absolutely nothing to do with him, now did it? Obviously you are on his side and hate Lou so no need for me to even respond anymore, it is what it is. I could care less really, just have noticed a pattern on a lot of CJs posts the last year (not all of course).

Don't shark me, you're not even reading my posts.

It leaves me with more years of hard core playing experience than you have. Where does that leave you?
Pretty much where I've always been - teaching you stuff.

The point here, as always, is that skill and accomplishment are admirable, but they don't necessarily = knowledge (and knowledge doesn't = skill, although it makes it easier to get).

Last time I played a rotation game I had to write "1,2,3,4,5...." on my bridge hand so I wouldn't get lost.

Lou Figueroa

Surely you've played a rotation game since 2000 (or was it 2001) in NYC.

Gideon<----Pretty sure that my suggestion

Ask Pat Johnson why he's been discrediting CTE for 17 years and what his motivations are.
As you should know by now, my motivation is to have candid discussion about how pool works. What's your motivation for wanting to squelch such discussions when they might disagree with a marketing pitch?

many will choose not to explain it, mostly because of the controversy involved.

Still laboring under the delusion that only the best players know how it's done, huh? Where does that leave you?

Does that mean only the worst players know how it's done?

It's amazing the lengths people go to justify and rationalize why the very best players have no idea how they play pool.

This is ludicrous at best and absurd at worst.....either way, it's more delusional than thinking the "very best players know how it's done" - we do, although many will choose not to explain it, mostly because of the controversy involved.

What I mean by "how it's done" isn't "how to do it" - of course the best players know that better than anybody by definition. But they don't necessarily know everything about the underlying mechanics - you could make an argument that they're the least likely to because they've devoted their lives to the purely practical aspects of pool.

You've given it much more thought than most.

Lou facts

Since Lou brought up my name and pointed out I am on his ignore list I would like to point out a few Facts regarding despicable Lou:

1. He attacked Freddy the Beard's credibility while he was living, while he was dying and after his death. He even launched an attack on Freddy's dying dog (even SJD who backs Lou a lot was sickened by Lou's attack on Freddy's dying dog)

2. He went after John Schmidt with criticism of his straight pool run to the point that John asked him to step outside when he saw him.

3. He spread numerous lies about a room that has the best one pocket action in Southern California. He then attacked all the posters who called him on his lies. This included me who he continually called a lock artist and other nasty things that were untrue.

These are only a few examples of his nasty nature and there are many others including Stan Shuffet, CJ, JB etc, etc.

He is number 2 on a list on another pool site in a thread called "The dumbest f... Of all dumb f...s.

I would probably just dislike him for all his shortcomings. However. His attacks on Freddy the Beard left with much more than a dislike.

He has never apologized to anyone as far as I know no matter how wrong his actions were but until he mans up and apologizes for his nasty behavior I think everyone should be aware of his nasty character.

Lou is of course free to play, or not to play who ever he wants. I didn't mean to criticise him for not playing CJ, just making a general observation. Personally, I'd play him even if he sold Roseanne Barr sextapes with me photoshopped into them. I mean seriously, who cares what he's selling. I'm pretty sure Lou would murder him with that spot, hard to sell tapes with that as an advertisement.

I'm trying to envision a scenario where someone who is a competent player loses with that spot, and all I can think of is some kind of racking shenanigans. With a neutral racker, rack your own or magic rack it's pretty much a lock. Nothing is impossible, but a bad loss with that spot, and I'd quit pool forever.

What I learned from the JB match is that these things have a way of spinning way out of your control, turning into something you never envisioned in the first place.

I'm out. If any of you feel so compelled, step up.

Is it delusional that you think you fit into the category of "the very best players"? No US Open titles, No "real" World Titles (was the ESPN World Open Billiards Championship an invitational?), no straight pool titles, etc. You were no doubt a very good tournament player but your legacy is that of a pool hustler.........where 95% of your action was against weaker players (your "customers").

What's really delusional is thinking that ALL "pros" know how to really explain what they're doing (many can). Even more delusional, is if any Pro thinks they can just tell us amateurs anything they want and we'll all just automatically believe it.

Just convenient that you left out some facts as well, I'm guessing. Better to let the dead rest on this one. Unless you get a kick out of bringing up that stuff yourself.

This may be the most accurate post in the entire thread....certainly the funniest. :groucho:

I also have no idea how to use the ignore option, it's like stuffing cotton in the ears and humming quietly to himself to make the "truth" go away. LoL

It's not rocket science. You go to "User CP" up in the top left corner and go down the left side to "Edit Ignore List" and type in the name you want to block.

I know some guys think it's like sticking your fingers in your ears but really it's not and makes it easy to, guess what, ignore the stupidity.

Generally speaking, it takes a lot for me to put someone on "Ignore." Never put JB on Ignore, not even CJ. But some guys' posts have no value added. Zero, nada. Champ, itsfroze, GlodenFlash, punter. They are a waste of human flesh and bandwidth, there is no reasoning with them, they want to hate, to troll, and nothing will appease them.

What I have also noticed is that, once again, generally speaking, these guys are nobodies. Guys who have never done anything in the world of pool, never attained any level of recognition, and by and large hide behind aliases. They've figured out that the only way anyone will ever note or remember them is by attaching their name to someone who is known. Other than the alias part, Spider would be the poster child for this description.

When you go back and look at the first game I offered, it was to play him even and use a "jump cue" on every shot......this is a tremendous spot, whether you "real eyes" it or not.

Maybe Lou would like to play Dorthy some even one-pocket. That "sweet little girl" would probably give him a ball (he'd need two) before it was over.

I'd hate to take advantage of Lou, although if we did play he would melt like the wicked witch in the 'Wizard of Oz'. LMAO!!!

th

CJ, I just don't want to play you. Go find someone else to raise your leg and piss on.

What's your pool accomplishment? Playing and beating JB only when someone shoved you into the box? You're gooooooooooood!

Seriously? A hack? I enjoy being a C player/SL6 in the local APA league. That must make me a hack, right? Because I don't think that having some ritual rain dance before I shoot the nine in the corner, I'm a hack? I'm lucky if I get to practice once a week and play in a match twice a month. That makes me a hack? Since I didn't buy CJ Wiley's TOI DVD, that makes me a hack?

You are an imbecile!

Let me blow your mind with some knowledge, bro. Pool isn't my world. I don't cream my pants when CJ Wiley slings some opinions on how to stroke your stick. I don't care about being a world class player and gettin' the cheese. I play because I enjoy the game. I have a career. One that pays very well, I might add. I chose my path when I was 16 years old and it paid off. I'm typing this little message while sitting at the bar in my brand new house by the lake. I chose to get where I am today. I don't need pool to be successful and I don't need negative *****s like you, making snide remarks like you know who I am. You don't know me and you never will. I don't associate with scum like you.

Don't take this as a personal attack... I'm just calling a spade, a spade...

Spider is a nobody when it comes to pool.

The best he can do is shout, "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I PLAYED GOLF WITH ALLEN HOKINS!"

lol, he's a weenie.

When did I ever say such a thing? I'm a weenie?

A weenie is a cry baby who points at a cartoon that made fun of him and crieeeees to the mod to force the person to take it down. What a pussified weenie.

LOL @ "weenie" ... you must be a girl
