Piper is my choice also. Good actress and extremely fun to look at.

Little known bit of trivia on this subject...
Mary Mastrantonio was not the girl originally cast to play Carmen in TCOM. Gina Mastrogiacomo was originally cast but had to be replaced (didn't have the "chops." Too young and inexperienced.) Most will remember Gina from her role as Ray Liotta's mistress (Janice Rossi) in another Scorsese movie "Goodfellas."
And in a sad bit of trivia...Gina died in 2001. She was only 39 years old.

I thought she was drunk AND lame. Regardless, I like her old school acting. She matched up well with Mr. Newman. :smile:

Big fan of Piper. She was nominated for 3 academy awards, but no wins, for the Hustler, Carrie (played Carrie's mon) and Children of a Lesser God. At least she snagged an Emmy win for TV movie "Promise".
I saw a rerun of Law & Order not too long ago, it was from 2001, and there she was, at age 69 playing a psyco foster mom. I thought her voice sounded very familiar, and but just could not place her, as she was a heavy set elderly woman, but TV credits showed her as Piper Laurie, and I was like "holy cow"

That picture is a little disingenuous, put up a recent picture of Piper and the result would be similar. Pull up Mastrantonio from Scarface and the picture is a little different. She was cute in an 80's sort of way...

I agree. But Piper aged a lot better. Some of my HS girlfriends are almost unrecognizable now that they turned 50... not all of them, but quite a few. I may have a dodged a bullet on some them

Even in her more recent pic posted she looks hot to me. The hair is crazy in that pic but other than that she's still looking good imo.
