How many are using FB groups to sell now instead of AZ for sale subforum?

I may be wrong but all I see on a lot of the FB groups is lower end items for sale... Sure you may see some of the big item sellers hit the group from time to time but for the most part, as of now, if your into BIG$ items/cues FB has not lured the right buyer yet... AZ is the best BY FAR for mid to high end exposure...

That is apparently a problem. I have heard that from numerous individuals.

Was just happening by but I noticed... No gold membership? You are helping how?????? ohh content.. umm where besides NPR? It's a pool site... I am in favor of NPR being axed as well.....

I notice RKC doesnt have a gold membership.
Whats your point?

I have to respectively dissagree, the NPR forum draws a completely different group of people/posters/debaters that really have nothing to do with pool, who for whatever reason can't stand not sticking their noses in other people's business, and honestly feel they have every right to do as as AZB is open to the public. The problems this brings about is a lot of hijacked threads for argument sake, off topic discussion, insulting other members....which in turn causes other contributing members to no longer want to participate in AZB any longer. If AZB no longer has the members who START threads worthy of conversation, then all that's left is all those that really have no thoughts of their own to try and post something.

I post in NPR all the time. I play like three times a week I've bought cues and equipment on AZ and go to the F/S section all the time. I've offered up cues on AZ. I own like 15 cues now and I sold 2 Ginas and and traded a Southwest in the last few years.

I am buying a Whitten case right now as we speak from a forum member. So you have no idea what you are talking about.

See, and Dom being one of the biggest Trolls in NPR, we still kinda like him. He keeps things interesting at times.

Wow, I agreed with Dom twice in the last 2 days. I have to take more meds now. CYA.

Exactly Lord. With the exception of maybe 2, the rest out of 20 have come from AZB, either new or used. And that is just cues, not including several cases to house them.

As if the main forum as well as other have been the epitome of decorum.

Methinks you have a selective memory.

Sometimes changes have to happen in order to correct a problem. Until there is a better solution than just letting the gamers take over the subforum, then we have to leave it the way it is now.

The way I see it, some users don't like the changes. Others do like them. We are never going to make everyone happy.

Sometimes changes intended to correct a problem bring unintended consequences that are just as bad if not worse than the original problem.

I wonder if pulling the npr forum would create a headache for mods. Those that post in npr regularly would be most likely begin posting in the main forum, creating a nightmare to police.

Be careful what you wish for. :D

While it doesn't bother me, it does appear to bother some regular members and arguing/bashing seems to breakout daily...I'm not necessarily saying it is all NPR's fault (obviously it takes 2 to tango)...just some of the posts seem to be from a few NPR regulars that solely want to argue or get their post count up vs actually contributing to that forum. Just my 2 cents and not calling anyone out in particular.

Kinda skipping pages a bit so don't know who decided it was a good idea to drag NPR into this.

That is a pretty bold statement. I don't remember seeing any NPR members purposely starting trouble in the Main.

I would like to see a few links if that is the case.

Or maybe they would just go away and take their political vitriol with them. Hope springs eternal

I am in favor of NPR being axed as well.

Well, I could counter with, I am in favor of Keeping the main clear of people that hammer it daily and weekly with Sales ads. Like you do.

The Main is for discussing the Game, not to sell your wares. There are other forums for that. What, less exposure in other Forums, Too Bad. Sales Forum. Be it as it is at the moment, keep your stuff over there. To be fair re obeying Rules. If the Owners and Mods were to really start enforcing, your Sales Threads would be the first to go.

The Cue Makers and Repairmen do just fine over in the Machinery Forum. The Machinery Forum is used exactly as it is intended. There is seldom a fight over there. Not even fair to call it a fight, more like a healthy debate over things that may escalate to a mild argument. A difference in Building opinions etc.

That and the Ask the Cue Maker Forum are 2 of the most peaceful and quiet Forums on AZ.

I hated Turnips when I was young. Why? Because I disliked the color and texture. Until I actually tried them. Wow, I was missing something.

The People that advocate Torching NPR haven't tried it out. No one kicks peoples butts over there for something to do. NPR might not be for you or others. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it has to be Axed.

Like I said, if it were up to me to follow rules, I would Axe all your sales threads. But in Reality, they don't hurt or bother me so why would I.

Keep in mind Chris, you are the one that started this thread. Essentially Pissing all over AZB. Is that what you wanted? It isn't the first time that you have complained about AZB, either. I could have mentioned to you some time ago, If you are not happy with the way things are done here, go somewhere else with your sales.

When you really think about it, what do you contribute over all to the rest of AZB. You're here to pump your products and put money in your pocket.

Maybe the rest of the members and the Owners deserve more respect than that.

Well, looks like the NPR posters just woke up:rolleyes: I knew it was just a matter of time:rotflmao1:

First you complain that members that enjoy a forum other than the main forum dont contribute.
Now you're complaining when they do.

I'd like to point out that much, not all, but much of the conversation in NPR is about international affairs, social issues, our government and its policies and how they effect all us.
If most of nation were as engage as the individuals that debate in NPR regularly the country would be in far better condition.

In the end these things are far more important than how to glue on a tip or stretch some carpet across a piece of slate.

I'd also point out that NPR also has a lot of lurkers as part of the traffic. Often times the view count is substantially higher than can be explained by the total number of posts.
Just like in the main forum. Some people do not wish to be involved. However they do digest the information.

And depending on who you Friend on Face Book etc, much of that is also Political, environmental as well. You name it, it's there for you.

I think that is why you post on my page is that we seem to read out of the same Bible most of the time.

So, same thing, don't like NPR, don't click over. Same a Friending a site at Face Book.

Your choice.

 I liked the part where we NPR folks contribute nothing ... another silly comment. BTW, there are other buy/sell places other than AZ or FB ... for example http://new.jimboarmy.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=23
:outtahere:

Dave <-- full disclosure : has posted (and even contibuted ) in AZ NPR, AZ Main Forum, AZ Ask The Cuemaker, Jimboarmy, and rsb, and has purchased a few cues here and elsewhere :wave2:

I try to start trouble in the Main all of the time. Just a bunch of trouble makers we are huh?

Anybody found out how Tom is doing?

So glad you took the time to read the whole thread... Just jumping in with both feet just shows you didn't... I have posted several times in the thread and even explained to Mike my take on things and that I still feel the AZ is the best community for the pool playing public... But go right on along tho... Don't let something like that stop you from trying to reignite what was actually turning into a decent discussion before the sidetracking.....

Mike has stated they are doing their best and I believe him I just wish there was a good alternative... Several options have been offered up for my issue which is can't discuss in the sales threads and can't sell in the main... I will stick to the Outsville Q and A thread from here on out.. If you think it's a sales thread don't click it....

As far the general ill wind that has been blowing and NPR being part of the problem.. AZ is a pool site... While I do actually from time to time post in NPR I don't think I would miss it if it were to be gone.. Almost every member I have on ignore is from that segment.. Just the way it is...

Chris
