How many are using FB groups to sell now instead of AZ for sale subforum?

And just how exactly does NPR effect the rest of the site pray tell?

NPR is the 14th listed forum on the site. And you have to scroll down to see it. Its not exactly placed in your face.

NPR has never screwed up a sale for me. However the asshat cueologists that believe they know ever example of everybodies work have.
They have caused doubts and soured deals for me.

One time, with the help of other members, I had to dig up both Fry and Wolf from Scruggs shop to prove the that he pantograph they used didnt always make a perfect insignia. It was to late by then.

And as far as contributing. Many poster in NPR contribute the other forums. Perhaps not regularly to meet your high standards. But it does not alter the fact that they do.

Chris Hightower, Chuck Starkey and a couple of other builders post over there. Are you suggesting they dont contribute to other areas of AZB?

I am eager to hear your explanation how one sub forum that most members dont even realize exists is acting as the event horizon of a black hole that is sucking the entire site down into eternal darkness.

P.S.

I case it has not dawned on you. Consider this a contribution to the main forum. :)

Exactly Sev..

To be honest, I can even think of a single NPR regular that hasn't made reference to the fact that they are a pool player as well...

This thread is full of giggles. We have a guy making a thread here about going to FB and selling there but he takes the time come back to AZB. For Sale section is perfectly fine. Dealers like to use it as a playground to chat and overbump their overpriced stuff. If you are doing a great job selling on FB then by all means keep doing it.

I also find it funny that people like to call out the NPR guys. There is so much to chat about pool that it gets tiresome.

Might be the first time I am in agreement with you Dom....

Now I'm afraid :yikes:

Mike, I switched to posting all my work and all the new things I'm doing to pool tables on my Facebook page, BECAUSE of the feed back I get from members here on AZB. Things like.....I'm just patting myself on my back....who cares what you're doing....it's not rocket science.... I know a lot of guys that work on pool tables..."and they're just as good as you are"....what an ego maniac....and all the rest of the BS that comes out of their mouths. Who needs it?

People always thinking they have a right to get into other people's business seems to be the norm here anymore. I like AZB, always have, supported it 100% to the point that I never offered my services to any other websites....and for what? Yes, I still get a lot of requests for my services because of my affiliation with AZB, but I get just as much from Facebook as well.
I wasn't a big fan of yours when I first came on board 2 years ago. You had the nerve to denigrate my beloved 1971 Minnesota Fats 8 footer. But I kept listening, mostly to you, but also to some other mechanics on AZ. I'm now playing on a beautiful GC4 I bought used at a great price. I had the best mechanic in Chicago " Diamondize" it and set it up. I learned about him on AZ. Meanwhile I couldn't get anybody to take the old table, so I broke it down myself. I put the slate out in the alley. It was gone in a day. I kept the 2 long skirts for lumber and the pockets for memories. As for the entire rest of the table..... I broke it up with only my hands and feet and put the whole mess into a single suburban alley garbage can......Don't think your contributions around here aren't appreciated by some!

Just don't send him any rails. You will thank me later.

Something like that Allen. The funny thing is, when a Garbage Thread is moved to NPR, with the exception of a couple of posts, kinda like a dog pissing on a tree, marking our territory, we always let them die and slip away.

The only people that continue fighting in that Garbage Thread are the ones that just post in the Main, you know, the ones that would have NPR Axed.

It is stupid. We are just as happy critiquing TV shows, movies, talking about cooking, sharing recipes, Music, a ton of different topics.

Well, if anyone ever starts a thread on Knitting, I am out.

There are a few over in the Main, not many but a few, that own High Horses. 16 Hands High. But, they will never admit it.

I just don't like when people have vested interest on a site, resort to calling out people that hang out and debate on NPR. If the main forum or for sale section gets shutdown, I am sure NPR guys will still come to this site.

If for sale section or main forum gets shutdown, I doubt those would come over to NPR. The point I am making is that NPR guys will participate more so than dealers and flippers.

I don't agree with a lot of NPR's and I am sure they feel the same way about me but to badmouth an active percent of the forum is dumb.

Well Dom.
RKC is going to be upset. I suddenly see some new faces from the main forum over on NPR and a few people that have not posted there in a while.

A guess advertising works. :thumbup::D

And also. There are a few from the main that like to come over to NPR and do Hit and Run Threads and Posts. They never hang out longer to back up their inane posts.

It's like we are the Town Retards. Some of the members from the Main, like to come over and kick us once in a while when we aren't looking and then run back to mom.

Too funny.

By now, I have read pretty much the entire thread. After your statement of Axing NPR, that is all I needed to read in order to make my post directed at yourself.

Why don't you address what I said toward you and your Sales in the Main, instead of trying to deflect it.

Yeah Allen, I know you're a serious trouble maker in NPR.

Yer always posting pictures of those stupid pens that you turn on your lathe. There is another guy that does that too. Seriously gets in the way of our fighting.

Which is another thing, if people actually read a bit or clicked back in NPR, they would see what we do for Hobbies, a few recipe threads. Cooking. At ton of stuff. Sure, much of it is Current Events and Political. Most of the threads in NPR wouldn't make it in the Main. That is why it is there, an alternative to Daily, Chalk, Tip and shaft threads. And that is where they dump the Threads that don't fit the bill in the Main forum also. It feels at times that we are a Garbage Can for the rest of the site. But in reality, the only Garbage Threads we get are those from the Main. Funny how things work eh.

For every thread on "hobbies, recipe threads and cooking" there are hundreds on political crap, hot button racial topics & right wing crap.

I've said it in NPR & I'll say it again here, in civilized society it's considered poor form to discuss politics & religion in company. Why? they're hot button topics that lead to the crap that goes on in NPR. I'm a member of other forums that have similar sub forums that are useful in that they allow forum members to discuss topics not related to that forum but politics, religion & racially charged topics are forbidden, they'll get you a ban. It works, keeps problems that exist in NPR here non existent.

There are those here that live for this crap & they'll be the 1st to cry how censorship is infringing on their rights to free speech. I call bullcrap on that. How did another poster put it above, if you don't like it, don't come here. There has to be a better use to bandwidth than a thread titled "Obamas a joke" started by one poster with over 20,000 + posts, 98% of which made by the OP, that's a waste & certainly seems to be far too much space given to one individual to spew his personal agenda. Take your vitriol to political forums, it serves no use here but to create havoc for the mods.

Poor wittle thing cant take the heat it the kitchen.
Nobody forces you to click on the title of a thread and read it.
Kind of like when you scan down your TV guide. Nobody forces you to click on the soft porn.
Though I suspect you probably do. :D
But anyway you get my point.
