Matches with excellent commentary

I found some threads with good matches, but I couldn't find anything specifically about the quality of commentary. Anyone have any YouTube links of matches with great commentary?

I just watched Earl doing commentary on a Karen Corr match and it was really interesting and helpful. Just about every shot he talked through the english, rails, and options - what went wrong, etc. Good analysis imo, it was like a free position coaching lesson.

I'd love to find more like that, I find most that I watch have people chewing into the mic, or barely adding anything other than 'nice shot' and 'too bad'.

Here's the one I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60o2lh16bZ4

No one comes close to...,

Grady Mathews!

Go to Accu-Stats and look for some of there $7.00 special sales videos, check the commentators, if you see Grady and Danny hosting (GM&DD) together you'll learn all you need to.

They worked well together, especially on One Pocket matches.

My favorite match - due to the commentary mostly - is Jimmy Fusco vs Jim Rempe 1 pocket match. Fred Bentivigna is the commentator. Its a great lesson in one pocket, if that's your game. The match is only on accu-stats, not available on youtube.

Wow, just watched about half of this match. Have to agree with you, this is some of the best commentary I every heard. Early really explains how to play the game.

I enjoyed watching the finals of the 2014 World-Nine Ball Championship between Feijen and Ouschan. Ralf was the guest commentator and did a great job of explaining the shots and also talked about the mental game and what goes through the minds of pro players as well.

Awesome suggestions, thanks folks.

I'll checkout the accu-stat stuff tomorrow for sure. I'm running out of YouTube matches to watch.

Love listening to Alex Lely commentate, very informative. He did several of the World Pool Masters events, you can look them up on YouTube. I think he did matches I watched from 2009, 2013, and maybe 2014 as well. IMO right on par with Grady, Bill Incardona, etc.

Here's one to get you started.

Sorry sir, I must respectfully disagree ! Grady's fine, but anything including Danny D, should definitely be avoided ! He was a good player and nice guy, but he's the absolute WORST pool commentator in the entire world. especially at one pocket !

Aw, I don't know...I like Danny Diliberto's style. I know he kind of drifts a little, but I'm always entertained. Grady and Billy I were the perfect match up. I learn something every time I watch a Grady commentary. Besides, it's the only way I can stand to watch one pocket! ;) Mark Wilson's okay...not my favorite, but he knows the game and doesn't call it wrong. If I hear JR Calvert, I hit fast forward. Nails on a chalkboard to me. :frown:

What 'style' ?..He drifts a LOT !..He never comes up with the right shot, yet he argues his point with better one pocket
player's, than he ever was !...Not enjoying good one pocket action, may be why this goes unnoticed to you !

No harm, no foul ! There was another long thread on DD's commentating 'skills' a while back..It did not go well for him !

My all time favorite is efren vs gentile with corey, scott, and billy i. Has me in tears just thinking about those guys doing commentary. I also now kick 80 to 90% of the time in one pocket.

I don't know about Earl's commentary. In the second rack Earl says that Karen is going to get from the 7 to the 8 by playing the shot with "left right top"

:p

Billy Incardona is the best commentator out there today, and Mark Wilson is also excellent.

Anything with either of them commentating is recommended.

That's it Johnny thanks for the link. Doesn't get much better than those guys playing with hilarious and informative commentary.
