Stabbing eskimos is bad. Telling people you stab eskimos is bad. Telling people the eskimo died is doubly bad. Remember the movie Layer Cake: "If you have to kill someone, never ever tell a living soul".

Lying about being in the army is bad, although unless you lie about going to war, it's not worse than lying about any other job.

Getting lots of tattoos when you are young/drunk etc can be a bad decision.

Nah, just kidding do whatever the h.. you want. Except stabbing eskimos. Definitely don't do that.

Im calling a spade a spade as I see it, if you have issues with that.... thats on you.

Not sure exactly what you are talking about on the rest of your post, but if you have any questions about me, my cases or anything else concerning me, please feel free to ask anyone who has ever had any direct dealings with me.

ps: I make cases because I like to make cases. If people like my cases and want to buy them, great! If not, oh well, my financial future is not hinging on making cue cases.[/QUOTE

The "spade" you're trying to call is Johnny coming across as a hypocrite. And from reading the post you searched, reads to me he wishes he wouldn't have gotten the tatt

And from his OP, he was trying to promote a positive image of pool. And trying to discredit him in a bs way is where we differ in opinion.

As to your cases, I bought one. It's a good case. But do you want me saying I didn't pay anywhere near the price you originally asked for it?

Do you want me to pull up past posts and try to discredit your workmanship?! I wouldn't do that!

By each time you get involved in these conversations, you are reducing the value of MY (your!!) cases. And when, or if, I want to sell it, I don't need your past history being brought up.

It's similar to another person promoting Darren Appletons practice video. Because of that guys comments, I would never buy DA's video.

Just sayin

WTF are you talking about? My past history???? You a funny man.

Let me state this for the record, I make cases for people to use. Resale value is of zero concern to me, and it shouldnt be to the end user. I make no claims that I am making collectors items or anything of the like. I charge what I feel is a fair fee for what I make. Im not the cheapest, but Im no where near the most expensive either. If anyone buys anything expecting it to go up in value, they need to take a class on investments. Again, to reiterate, I make cases meant to be used and used hard. I dont care if they hold their value or go up in value. I just care about if they fulfill what they are intended to do.

The value of Fields cases is now on sell everyone! Customer service...., resell value..........,

I just woke up after getting drunk off my butt, and bought a Fields case. What was I thinking?! Take the last check that cleared for the last case and buy another tattoo.

I have a Fields case that isn't with the money I paid for it, and the maker could care less. What a great promo piece.

I am pretty caught up on thread.
I should have posted last night.

I like JohnnyT, and yes he has been known to stir up some shlt from time to time. Maybe exaggerate, IDK.

My WW2 family members had multiple MOS's. One was said to have 3, I believe that in the past that was more common and may have been more specific than Nam forward just a guess.

I'll repeat, his objection was against tattoo saturation. Yes he shared the circus anecdote, probably got folks into a bigger lather.

This forum is either very bored or has the thinnest skin. Come on now he isn't talking about your family and getting personal.

Barbecue away.

I will agree with O.P. in part. I personally think that covering most of the body with tattoos is a distraction to some, mostly in conversations. I don't think it hurts pool or would serve to intimidate as Rodman did.

Tats are 100% legal. Piercings too. It is American to sport them. John Wayne probably had a tattoo of "Rose" right above his pierced nips.

I just don't give two shlts about them. I don't guess JohnnyT does either. Show some tolerance and let us be prejudiced and ignorant.

I think we can all be friends without talking about religion, politics and tattoos.

JohnnyT please quit stirring the pot man. I'm gonna get smacked for defending your right to be candid.

Should I hit send...

Oh man, the ol' heart tatt! Now that was a classic. Or maybe the small rose bud to remind us of the sweet little girl we left back in our small home town. Those were the good ones of yesteryear.
Yea, I should have just done the beer mug to remind me of my friends and all of the keg parties we had back n the day.
Maybe now, I could get a taco (because that's my favorite food......today!), and a shot ass of Jameson whiskey (because that's what I say I drink today). What a great memory!
The good news is, I won't have to use memory on my phone to take a selfie and post it to my utopian Facebook page, "Dayum! Got all f'd up last night. Check out my new ink! It a Chinese koi fish (I just love gold fish. Reminds me of 'ol flipper Mommy bought me at the pet store. I had to flush him down my toilet, but I least I have his memory here on my forearm). Feel free to "like it", I'm going for more Farm bs on this site.
Again, I'll pay for the donkey to be put on the forehead of any ink lover.

You're a lonely, bitter, little man. What you need is a tattoo that says, "Mom". It might make you feel better.
But, then on the other hand your parents probably sued the condom company when you were born.

Steamer-My tatt says "Wow"., I think of dear 'ol Mum when I'm doing handstands.!

Not bitter. I'm just digging my heels in when I read bs.

Too many people fold. You'll always know where I'm coming from, because I speak my mind.

I box myself to high standards. I don't always reach them, by they guide me. When I see bs, I call it as I see it. If people can't take it, that's their head trash. But, no one ever has to question what is my opinion.

Good post. And maybe I am a bitter man, by what does that do to you? 😋

My next tattoo in your honor ........... I'll probably lose some sleep tonight thinking of the perfect place to put it.

That's sarcasm by the way - although you think I'm probably unintelligent enough to get a tattoo as some type of visceral reaction to your post ... as I'm a "jackass" by your definition.

Appreciate the insight into what kind of person you and a lot of others in this thread are - very enlightening.

Oh, ok.

Hey everyone! I'm the mean guy. We should all be looking for the "nice guy" because he must be right. Right?

You pulled up an old post f JohnnyT (which I don't know from Adam), and fr to discredit him.

His point was how disgusting and repulsive tattoos are on pool players.

You tried to discredit his post by pulling up an old post, where it s obvious, he feels he made mistake. (I know you probably have an old girlfriends name on your right butt check).

My point is..tattoos are for people who crave attention. They want to show what some stranger put ink on their skin. It is my opinion, tattoos are, a life long memory of a bad decision.

Now, what you have done is reduce the value of the case I bought from you.

BTW, if anyone wants to buy a Fields case, from my experience, he would. Of take a phone call from me. He wanted to communicate through email.

But yet he will get on a tattoo forum discussion and talk all night long. Crazy!

It appears to me that I paid way too much for a throw away case.

Buyer beware of case makers who don't want to pick up the phone to speak with a buyer.

I actually edited that post so as to not stoop to your level - I reread it and thought it was little beneath me - hence the edit.

Yep, I dont do phone calls. I have breathing problems that make talking on the phone both physically uncomfortable and embarrassing.
Must mean Im out to screw somebody because I prefer to communicate through written means. :grin-square:

I'm sure with your biases you're probably late to go pick your sheet up from the drycleaner or maybe burning a Koran or two. So I'll just say have a great evening and go find that little option that puts you on ignore permanently.

Why would I care if you have speach problems? You are (as far as I'm know) a healthy person. If my child is born with a speach issue, we deal with it. As would anyone else.

Your comments went after a person who made a comment about a choice! Any issue coming from birth, disease, or accident, is understood. People deal with it, and understand it.

I find tattoos repulsive, and disgusting.

A person selling cases for a "pretty penny" should remember people are watching, and it not only affects his purse, but affects those that have bought their merchandise.

You've made it this far in life. I'm not good at giving sympathy to one that starts throwing crap.

So, is my case a throw away case? I spent more than a few hundred dollars for it?!

I've got one on my right arm which is the Chinese symbol for papillon. I have 3 papillon dogs and they are all a big part of my wife and my lives. When I grow old I will have will still remember them.

To keep this pool related I am in vegas and wore my "8 ball is my super power, what's yours" t shirt today at the Rio.

just an fyi;

in the us army I have served with some guys who had multiple mos's but I can't say any had 5.

It may be that there are related mos's that carried different #'s for different certifications (somewhat speculative). Johnny said he was trained in a few mechanic mos's and perhaps that could account for a few of them.

To be more clear on what I'm saying, I came out of Ft Lee, VA Quartermaster school with dual mos's, this training was right after basic training at Ft Jackson.

76Y10 and 76Y30 which were supply, and small weapons repair (45 cal sidearm to 50 cal machine gun), and there was also a separate specialized logistical training beyond these other 2, however, no mos number was assigned that I'm aware of.

The point being it may be possible to receive some training on additional vehicles/tanks/whatever that picks up some added mos's similar to how civilian mechanics get certified on certain lines.

I think we can keep our minds open to such a possibility.

And regarding Johnny killing someone in an alley in Alaska, what I read was him saying someone pulled a knife on him in an alley after he won some money gambling and that he, Johnny, had a biggr knife. Did I miss Johnny say he killed the guy?

And regarding Johnny saying his entire unit perished in Viet Nam; I think I read that differently, too.

What I read Johnny say was that a couple of weeks after his discharge, his entire unit was deployed to Viet Nam and *best he could tell* none ever returned home.

Very possible I could have missed something so, please, let me know if I got any of this wrong.

thanks,
brian kc

I think what you are talking about regarding the military training (MOS stuff) are ASIs (Additional Skill Identifiers), They are additional codes added to your MOS designation that identify that you have been through specialized training IN ADDITION TO your MOS school.

For example, 11B is the designation for an infantryman, but if that soldier has been to sniper school, he doesn't get a new MOS because it's part of his job as an infantryman, so he gets an ASI added to his MOS code, which in this case would be B4. So, an infantryman who is sniper qualified would have the MOS code of 11BB4 (not entirely true because they would have an additional number as a rank designation in there but that's not important for this conversation) . They do this so they can get more specialized with assignments. If you have the choice to send 1 of 2 infantry soldiers to Ft. Bragg, for example, it may come down to looking at the ASIs of the guys you are considering for the assignment in addition to the ASIs of the unit you are sending them to in order to determine if all of the units affected have the proper distribution of special skills (i.e. airborne qualified, sniper qualified, etc.). This happens across all different MOS groups and all different types of ASIs.

So, when you ask someone who is/has been in the Army what their MOS is, they are going to give you the 3 character alphanumeric designation (i.e. 11B for infantry, 96 series for my personal code (intell)...notice I didn't say "under 600" or "I had 5 in my 2 year career"), but when you look at their official records, their MOS code is likely much longer to show all of the special skills they have achieved within their area of specialty.

I hope that made sense. After spending nearly 20 years speaking "Army" sometimes it's hard to turn it off or be able to speak in non-acronyms.

No sorry. Don't have a KKK sheet. I don't have a #nojusticenopeace thingy either.

Heck, I just bought a rainbow flag that I can mail to you!

As far as the Koran, sorry.

I find it interesting that when someone who states an opinion that a minority disagrees with, that the "mean person" quotes begin to appear.

I didn't mean to make you feel bad. And I sure didn't want to hurt your "wittle" feelings either.

I hope you can sleep tonight.

BTW, I agree with JohnnyT....tattoos are not something want to see on my children.

But, if any of the tattoo lovers want a baboon on the forehead of their daughter, I'm willing to pay for it.

As far as your case, do with it as you wish. If you want to throw it away.... Thats your call.....
