F-250 smashed through Diamond Billiards today, tough loss...

Unf***ing real!

Thoughts and prayers to friends and family of the person
that died and to the other ones who were injured.

I watched the news clip as well and couldn't believe my ears
at the end of the clip when it was reported that the police say
there have been no charges filed at this time. I know that will
change, but you'd think a few charges would have been filed
right outta the gate. I hope this idiot gets what's coming to him,
many years behind bars.

There could be numerous counts and charges .. evidence has to be gathered .. video surveillance at the business might play a big factor as well as testimony from the many witnesses.

Apparently the story is already out that he was asked to leave the business because of an encounter with one of the female employees .. that might supply a motive and the video might prove that this was not an accident.

I suppose his defense will be, 'I thought the truck was in reverse' .. So we will have to wait and see...

Good thing you're moving to Denver.
We may not have the beach, the fishing, or the weather like you do in Fort Meyers,
but our pool halls are safe most of the time.

Off the top of my head I can think of two incidents in Denver where cars drove through pool halls. Maybe you youngsters can't recall...

:)

A lesson...

Thanks, Bill, for posting this sad news story.

For all my AZB friends:

I have learned over many years, and after many similar incidents, that whenever someone is ejected from any bar (or room), that should be your signal to also depart. This type of thing happens too often, sometimes involving weapons, firebombs, F-250 trucks, whatever.

Pass on my experience to your friends and family that you care about.

Where in Denver, maybe Table Steaks on Sheridan.
I'm probably older than you, but I was out of pool from 1974 to my divorce in '02
My first job in '67 was at Varsity 8-Ball right by DU, University & Evans

I remember when an SUV went through Pool Sharks in Las Vegas

I actually was in my usual pool room tonight & told the house guy what happened. I was telling him how incidents like this are why I normally see people hesitant to boot someone from a business due to fear of retaliation.

I wish his family & friends only the best while trying to recover from an event that should have never happened. :(

This is absolutely sickening. Hopefully the perpetrator will never again be a free man. Sincerest condolences to Ron's family and all those affected by this incident.

" Hopefully " ??

At the present state of America's judical system, he'll probably be out in no time, maybe serve time for couple yrs and let out on good behavior.

That animal should be burried alive !

There absolutely will be numerous charges. The report from
the news didn't even mention whether the driver of the truck
was detained or arrested. As far as I know, you can't be arrested
without being charged. There's no way they let this guy go free
at the scene, but the news report didn't mention his name, if he
was being detained, or arrested. Off the top of my head there
should've been a handful of charges. Involuntary manslaughter,
assault with a deadly weapon(multiple counts due to the number
of people he hurt), DUI, etc. The judge should allow no bail or make
it so high it's hard for him to get out anytime soon.

I'm going to google it and see if there's more info on this asshole's
status. He better be behind bars, unless he fled the scene and escaped
on foot.

(if financially feasible) Pool halls should be on the second floor or above so this bs cant happen to anyone in the pool family. :-(

Prayers sent!!!

(now you gotta lookout for headlights coming your way while shooting...SMDH!!!)

pool tables on upper floors are dangerous to firemen, I have been told that's why most places have ordinances against them.

It was bad enough to read about this last night shortly after it happened , but to find out this was not an accident compounds the loss.

It's scary to think this could have happened at anyone's local hangout and the victims any of our own friends. I can understand being pissed off and maybe wanting to start a fight, but what kind of an idiot gets angry and smashes into a business, ruining his OWN expensive vehicle, and possibly killing themselves and/or innocent people in the process?

Just senseless and the whole thing makes me sick to my stomach..,

The worst drug of them all is alcohol! And you can buy it anywhere! Makes sense right?

not to play the sh1thouse lawyer but I can feel a 'My client thought he was pressing the brake pedal instead of the gas pedal' defense coming.

Harder to have success with this defense since he was angry over just getting booted but what else can he say?

very, very, very tragic and senseless. :frown:

best,
brian kc

J Hall was racking the balls on the table you see here and was barely clipped as he went by.

The guy apparently told the cops "it was revenge" so I think his defense is not going to be much here.
