lol the pros absolutely eat him alive at poker and relish any chance when he tries to jump in a high stakes game...he does bet high though so I will give him props for that.

Poker also has the advantage that it's so easy to understand. 99% of guys who went to high school have sat in on at least a dozen poker games. Even the 1% who haven't could tell you the four suits (ask them "what number ball is the red one?" and see how many answers you get)

Pros could play a pool match for $10 million, it would still be a boring game that no one would watch.

I've been around the pool rooms since the late 80s, and I know very few PROS, that's not done shady shit in games, sets, etc.
I've seen all I've cared too.

Why does poker attract so many people and such a following on TV? One name.... Chris Moneymaker

Now EVERYONE thinks they can play poker and succeed.

And that's the difference. With a bit of studying and practice, most anyone can play effective poker, if you're not an idiot. That's not true with pool. Not even close.

And every poker player I know no matter what level is usually positive they lost only because the other guy is a donkey who got lucky. Doesn't work that way when a guy drills you 9-1. Well maybe it does sometimes according to facebook.

You've been exposed to enough elite pool enough to know that guys like us, who love the game, will never, ever be able to compete with world class players. That just isn't true with poker.
 
Schmidt gave him 15-5 on Trumans $ in San Diego few months back. Back and forth. Then Dippy won and they were done. Quote by Dippy, "as soon as Dippy wins and games over." Entertaining.

That element of luck is what keeps the losing players coming back. Top players understand that without that luck factor there would be no one to win money from. No amateur is going to get in the box and play SVB even but in poker weak players play even all the time. The luck factor is the reason a skilled player can make money to begin with.

Absolutely right, 'The Moneymaker Effect' motivated viewers to become participants.

Would a 'Friday Night Money Match' on TV have the same effect for Pool?

Best players in the world laying major weight to someone from your town ... for big bucks ... Who will be the next challenger to beat the monster and take home the cabbage?

Just an idea ... but I know that all of you would be watching.
